I know how you are all feeling!!!

I dont get to sleep before 1am at all, I wake at 3, toilet run.. take at least 45 mins to get back to sleep, wake again at 430, another toilet run, take at least another hour to sleep, wake at 630, another toilet run.... usually fall asleep pretty quickly, then I wake at 9am, toilet run, and because I am getting bugger all sleep, I try and sleep for another hour again.... doesnt often work though

Everytime I wake, get up and then lay down again, the little one gets all excited like we're heading out somewhere and goes bazurk! hehe funny, but sometimes just annoying when u average about 5 hours sleep a night!

Hope it gets better for you all.

Also, I have heard that the times you generally wake during the night, are possibly the times that bubs will wake for a feed etc, when they come along....

Here's to all the 3am alarms we'll be waking to!!!

i am sitting here at work with my eyes popping out of my head because i got up at 4am to go to the toilet and couldn't get back to sleep at all- next thing i know it's 6.45am and my alarm is buzzing and i'm so tired i just don't know how i'm going to make it through the day!!! very comforted when i found this thread to know i am not abnormal. can't wait to finish work as i think that adds to my anxiety and makes it even harder to sleep as i know i've gotta get up for work....it's killing me guys!!

As soon as I conceived my sleeping habits changed and so did DP's. I'm usually one to stay asleep until I wake up so I definatley feel this is my body and mind getting used to being awake at all hours.

Another thing I am even starting to notice now is that after dinner my instinct is to go straight to bed, even if I'm not particularly tired! Its like the message is get the rest now while you can, because you will be awakened later!

    I have this exact problem!!

I go to the loo about 1.30am and stay awake for at least 2 hours.... I thought this was strange but I feel so awake at this time. I find if I have a warm glass of milk and some cookies, I feel better as I get really hungry if im up longer than 15mins. I usually do some reading and soon enough I feel drowsy. Does anyone know if this lasts for the rest of the pregnancy?

    Hi All,

I have the same problem! surprise surprise!

yep i get up just before 12-45~1am AND then again about 3ish, for toilet run and a drink, each time takes me ages to get to sleep...especially at 1am! takes me about an hr at least!and then i can't get back to sleep because i'm hungry! so i too have been trying the warm milk and cookies thing for the last few nights and that seems to be working so far. Also i've tried staying up later... even if i'm tired at 9pm i force myself to stay up a little longer...hope it works!

But i'm luckier than most, i'm not working anymore and after DH goes to work at 6:30am i snuggle back in bed and try to get a little more sleep! I don't know how all those working mums do it!

Hearing you loud and clear... I wake every two hours - almost on the dot... worst thing is, when I wake at 11:30 I roll over and hope to see 6:00am on the clock because I feel like I have slept all night!!

Once I'm awake, I find it takes me around half an hour to 45mins (sometimes longer) to go back to sleep.

It's annoying me and really affecting my work and home life because I'm just so exhausted.

Hope it gets better for all of us really soon!!
