I couldn't even labour in peace with DS1. My sister and SIL rung and we weren't home and then rung the hospital in the off chance i had gone into labour, they were on the phone every couple of hours the whole time i was in labour.

Please reply with "yup, something - he's here."

Go on, I dare you. (I would do that to my DH if he were that stupid!)

Oooh yeah. I'd love to see his face when he reads that message. Maybe he just wants an excuse to come home from work?

I tried so hard all pregnancy to not tell people my EDD. I'd just say early December, but they had to know the exact date. DD came early so I avoided phone calls. I don't get why people ask. As if they wouldn't be told if bubs had been born or not

i was so sick of people asking "has the baby come yet", i didnt tell anyone i was in labour. (was in early labour for almost 2 days). only sent texts out when i actually got to hospital (and wasnt sent home). the last thing i wanted was people calling while i was having contractions to see if i have had the baby.

i hadnt even hit my EDD yet!!!

Yeah Im not sure if I will tell anyone if I am in Labour. There are a couple I will. But not sure. I sort of pictured I would sit on FB & keep everyone up to speed but not sure. Maybe I can do that & just unplug the phone at the same time?

what a great idea!!! very sneaky squirrel.
efjay i highly recommend holding off telling people ur in labour. i just really wanted to focus on getting as far as i could at home, and no one was going to have the contractions for me LOL, so the phone calls would not have been any help.

When I was pg with my twins I felt like a freak show near the end. I was admitted a week before I had them for pre eclampsia. The Thursday before the obs came in and said right you are going to meet your bubbbas next Tuesday. I explained to him how I felt like the bearded women and he wrote at the front of my file that under no circumstances was anyone to discuss my c section including the day in front of visitors. And believe me my visitors tried!! They would try and sneak a look at the notes when the staff came in and one cousin saw the note at the front page and went all read in the face. Hehe I think he got the message.

With ds3 was having contractions for two weeks before ds3 arrived I was even admitted over night but the only people the new where the ones that would never show up at the hospital during labour. My mum was threatening to coming and wait .... No thanks!

Unplug the phone. Don't answer the door. And if all else fails tell them to mind their own F$&@ing business!

With DD1 she was a little over a week early and I didnt get a chance to tell anyone I was in labour.
With DD2 I was only 2 days off my EDD and people were constantly asking and telling me to make sure I get to hospital.

When I went into labour only my mum knew (she was staying with us and had DD1), I msgd 2 mg girls and no-one else found out til after she was born.

I kept telling ppl, you will find out when she's here. Don't push it.

Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
