    Bikini Wax at 38 weeks??

    Hi ladies,

Was just wondering if it is worthwhile to have a bikini wax this late in the stage. With only 2 weeks to go I was thinking it might be uncomfortable for me to have it done, but am embarrassed to think what the hospital staff might think of my "thigh brows". Don't think that they have access to a brushcutter at all there so was wondering what everyone else is doing/has done/would do. Is it worth worrying about?????

I'm sure the hospital staff have probably seen all kinds of 'hairdos' so don't do anything you wouldn't want to do on their behalf.

There can be a lot of blood afterwards so a bit of a trim might make it easier for you to keep things clean.

Yeah, I think a trim and cut is a good idea!!!! Is easier to keep clean and also helps if you end up with stitches etc, Good Luck!!!!

So ladies, are you saying just to do it myself then, maybe with a bit of help from DH? Don't worry about waxing? Just have been so slack and had it on the agenda of "things to get done" and just haven't been able to be bothered to be honest now the time has got away from me

    Hi Nita
I had a brazillian on the friday and had my bub on the tuesday. I'm so pleased I did as it was much more comfortable and I felt cleaner as far as the blood loss was concerned. I was a little embaressed to start with as I had a c/s and the nurses told me I would need to shave and I had to tell them that there was no need. Anyway its completley up to you if you decide to wax or not. All the best with the upcoming birth of your little "button"

Like Mako, i had mine done at 38.5 weeks and had my babk at 39. The theatre staff were so impressed that i had gone to the effort so they didn't have to worry, plus it was easier to cleam my wound clean (I didn't want to have a ceasar that's just what happened).

It did hurt a bit more than whne not preg, but I get mine done regularlay anyway, so it wasn't a big deal IYKWIM?

Oh, I couldn't even think about waxing ... I figured I'm gonna indure enough pain with the labor ... So, I used the reliable VEET cream & then trimmed it back short !!

... Was so wrapt whilst in hospital knowing that I was nice & neat ... And I can tell u being home later on wt bub I jst neva had anytime 2 do it (VEET or WAX) 4 ages.

So, I'm glad I did it wen I did which was 2 days b4 my due date, then 2 days later (which happen 2 b 2 days b4 I ended up having my bub) !!

Ok, you have all convinced me LOL!! Just rang up and left a message to make an appointment! Not sure if I am brave enough to have a Brazillian though! Have never had it done before so think I might be a bit "scared" of that! Will see how I go. Thanks so much for all your replies!!

Oh, thanks so much Hindonly!! I have been following the Belly Buddies thread with all you ladies due at the same time. I did originally post as well, but then I just got so slack with keeping up that in the end I felt funny about posting again, didn't want to intrude as you all have such a wonderful thing going. Will keep looking and try to keep up to date with how you all are. Again, thanks so much for your best wishes.

Brave lady you are!! lol. Just be careful if you do go for the veet instead though cos your skin can be more sensitive when pg. I couldn't use it on my legs let alone anywhere else cos my skin got rashes from it and majorly itchy!!! I was fine before I was pg with it but yeah, just a little warning

you could always ask the girl to do the sides of your bikini first and work your way in otherwise you may have a very odd "hair doo" and if you trim the hair a little first it will be less painful and the wax won't get tangled in the long bits.

I agree about watching out for the veet, i had a girlfriend who used (wasn't pg) and she couldn't walk for a week as it burnt her and it was the sensitive type one.

Ive been discussing this with my DH who says 'No, it will hurt the baby" How on earth does he think that??? Anyhow, I am definately doing something as my natural look is totally out of control these days and I think I will feel better if I am neater and cleaner there in hospital. Now, what to do? I can hardly reach some bits now and being overdue already I dont have time to book an appt...... hmm better be off to the bathroom now methinks lol.
