How many came early with your 1st?

    Hi Guys,

Just wondering how common this is? I know it's the 'norm' that you usually go over with your first, but I have this feeling / knowledge / acceptance or something, that I'm going to come early by about 3 weeks. Just wondering if an intuition can be right or am i just working with wishful thinking? I feel very hard, very low and I don't know, just have this 'feeling'.

Wondering what everyone elses experiences with their first has been?

    Thanks

I was three days early and i kind of expected to go over because that was what i constantly heard. I had no idea or intuition of any kind i was just hoping that i would go naturally. I just didn't want to be induced.

I had a feeling that I would give birth early, but only by a day or so. Amy ended up deciding that she wanted to be here almost a month early. In a way it's great that you have that extra time to meet and be with your bub but it is very stressful too, as there are a number of things that can go wrong when your bub is prem. I know everyone says that you usually go over with your first but it's not true for everyone....and in the end your bub will arrive when it wants to. It was a total shock to me for Amy to come that early but she's happy and healthy....a little behind the other bubs with milestones (which is to be expected) but other than that all perfect. Good luck and I hope everything goes wonderfully for you.

I had a feeling I was going to come early with my first because my belly was very hard and bubs didn't move as much etc but ended up going 3 days over...I think it was wishful thinking for me. This time I think I will go on time or a few days over so maybe I'll go early this time haha

I didn't really think about it with DS, but he was born exactly a week early.

This time I have a feeling I'll go early, fingers crossed I do, cause my OB won't let me go over.

I was sure I was going to go over (I'm a bit of a pessimist!) but was one week early.

    Oscar was 1 week early.

Try not to get your hopes up hun. It's better to think you'll go over and have a nice suprise if your bundle decides to arrive early!

I was sure I was going to be late (even said so the morning of delivery in an email to my doula) as bub was still high.... but she arrived 3 weeks early! Takes after her mum I guess... I hate to be late

DD was born at 39 weeks, and I started having a show from 38 weeks.

I agree with Danielle, try not to get your hopes up too much on going early.

    All the best

My first one was a little over 3 weeks early - born at 36.5 weeks.
Water broke late one night and off we went, no warning whatsoever. Hadn't had a show, hadn't had any contractions or anything. I had an appointment that morning and was told she was very deeply engaged and that she'd probably show up pretty soon...but I didn't even notice how engaged she was either. Wasn't very on the ball back then LOL.
