    Not engaged yet

Hi there, I had my routine check up this week and my sc couldn't tell if bubs was head down or not and definately has not engaged yet. Should it be heading there by now? From reading other posts it appears most do. He mentioned if he still not 100% sure of placement in a few weeks he will send me off for a scan to make sure not breach as will need a csection if is - not sure if the hopsital will book me in for csecton on my scarers word though. Im happy he is being so cautious though as I dont want to go through a long labour and then rush off to csection anyway!

Maybe i'm counting my chickens before the hatch so to speak! Just getting impatient and was hoping to have bubs definately before xmas day - due 19th!!

I can feel someting to the left of my belly poking out, not sure if it is a head or arm or foot, what side do they normally start kicking more on when they are breach or is it much of a muchness!

I'm not sure if this is your first baby or not, but with subsequent babies it can take a lot longer for them to engage.

I had an u/sound done the morning DS was born and he still wasn't fully engaged. He was born about 12 hours later though!

Thanks, I know I'm rushing into it and have time - is good to just throw the line out there!

I'm just starting to panic about labour and stories ive been told of people being left long then the hospital realising it is breach and needing csection. I suppose I need to just shut off from what people say to an extent!

This is first bubs for me.

DD1 was head down from 28 weeks and engaged from 33 weeks. But all babies are different.

DD2 was head down from about 34 weeks but never engaged until labour was established

My DD was head down from about 27 weeks and never engaged. I was induced at 40+4 and there was still no sign she was ready to come on her own!
