you know
spotlight had brothers for $79 boxing day
I honestly have no idea...just got an email in my messages about it but I wasnt home at the time
Yeah one day only.. I wen into spotlight this morning and it was boxing day onlybut then when I had a look around I found a Brother one that I loved went to Target got the same one $200 cheaper... WIN
yeh i was going to say spptlight had a sale for $79 but seriously, probably had only 1 in each store anyway!
I have an extremely old Elna overlocker that is so ancient but still works so well (i should post a pic of it lol). The sewing machine i use is an aldi one mezzo or somehitn brand.
Its been a few yrs and still havent broken down.
If i wanted to sew lots of stuff i just go to mums who has an industrial Juki brand with auto thread cutting thing
Although im not very good at sewing at alll! LOL
Good luck with making some gorgeous clothes!
Just checking emails. BigW have the Singer Sewing Machine 2250 for $168.00 (small saving of $30).
ETA, just checked Lincraft pre Christmas email and they have the same Singer for $169 with a BONUS $10 fabric voucher (saving of $160).
Go figure![]()
If you google sewing machines (.com.au) you will see the Metro sewing machine place that someone mentioned earlier...
They have a 1507 Singer Sewing Machine RRP: $299.00 Sale Price: $149.00 and a couple more machines for $179-$199... just another option in case Target are sold out![]()
I'm looking for a basic sewing machine too - and I would be perfectly happy with one of these in the $100-$300 price range (on sale) but for some reason the Bear and MIL are determined to get me an expensive Bernina!I would actually prefer a cheaper one cause I don't know how often I will use it and after a year or so I will have a better idea of whether I need more features etc.
A basic model Bernina will very likely have less stitches than a janome or a brother, but it will come with more presser feet and probably last longer but yea as a beginner you would do just as well with a 300 step up brother/janome as a 1000 base model Bernina
Maybe I should just go and buy one myself while they're on sale![]()
Well I got the Brother one that was $164 from Target, brought it home and showed MIL and she rekons it is a great machine...
I have the pink ribbon janome at the moment & it's fantastic. My first machine was either a singer or a brother & was at least 30 years old & only 2 stitches worked on it
DH went and bough the brother one at target yesterday arvo!!!!!! Now to figure out how to use it LOL
Woohooo! How exciting! I cannot wait to see your creations![]()
Feeb, I will post you a shorts/pants pattern for beginners and a simple bag pattern just so you have something to play with and practice![]()
