What are you reading? A good & happy child
    Who wrote it? Justin Evans
What is it about? George Davies has a problem: he can't bring himself to hold his newborn son. Desperate to save his dwindling marriage and redeem himself as a father and husband, George visits a therapist and begins to delve into the childhood memories that may be the root of his issues. Ten-year-old George, in the wake of his father's harrowing and unexpected death, is experiencing ominous visions - some friendly, others outright terrifying. Unable to control those visions, George starts to display erratic behaviour and eventually becomes violent. When a mysterious murder is ultimately revealed, the stakes are suddenly much higher for him and his family. Are the visions just the product of a grief-stricken child's overactive imagination? Symptoms of mental illness? Or is ten-year-old George possessed by a darker, more malevolent force?
Are you enjoying it? I've only just started it but so far it seems really interesting

I'm actually reading Men are from Mars & Women from Venus, plus 2 other lighter books (oh yeh and an "adult" novel )

I'm enjoying the Mars/Venus book, it is giving me better insight into how males work, I'm able to pass on what I'm finding out to my bestie who is going through relationship issues at the moment which is helping her to better understand her partner.

I am reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett, it 's fantastic, I am loving it.
It's about 3 black maids in the American South and one white woman who wants to write their stories. It's also been or being made into a movie.

Sounds good! Is it long? Hard to read, easy or somewhere in the middle?

I'd say easy to read. It's quite long, 451 pages. I am flying through it as I just want to know how it's going to end.

it's funny 'cause it's true! he ponders the cruelty in wanting to smile but not being able to (due to lips having been rotted off and all)

i'm onto the girl who kicked the hornet's nest now. i've found it far easier/faster to get into than the previous two in the trilogy. i think it's because this story is a continuation from the 2nd book, whereas the 2nd started a new storyline from the 1st (i hope that makes sense!).

i also finished an alex gray book recently. i think it was called five ways to kill a man (or something like that!). it wasn't bad - fairly standard crime novel but i enjoyed it (if that's the right term for a book about murders!)

Finally finished the Twilight saga again, and yep, Breaking Dawn annoyed me again. Moving on!

What are you reading? At Home With The Templetons

    Who wrote it? Monica McInerney

What is it about? A family who inherit a large mansion style house in Castlemaine, come from the UK to turn it into an 1860's style themed home where the children are used to show tourists the history of their family. (It's fiction)

Are you enjoying it? Not yet, which is very unusual for me and her books. I usually love them, so I'll keep persisting. But I really hope it gets better soon!

What am I reading? The Slap

    Who wrote it? Christos Tsiolkas

What is it about? At a suburban barbecue, a man slaps a child who is not his own.
This event has a shocking ricochet effect on a group of people, mostly friends, who are directly or indirectly influenced by the event.

Am I enjoying it? The first few pages I found hard to get into, but I'm now halfway through the book and quite enjoying it's different angles.

    Who wrote it? Rachael Treasure

What is it about? Rosie Highgrove-Jones grows up hating her double-barrelled name. She dreams of riding out over the wide plains of the family property, working on the land. Instead she's stuck writing the social pages of the local paper.
Then a terrible tragedy sparks a series of shocking revelations for Rosie and her family. As she tries to put her life back together, Rosie throws herself into researching the haunting true story of a 19th century Irish stockman who came to Australia and risked his all for a tiny pup and a wild dream. Is it just coincidence when Rosie meets a sexy Irish stockman of her own? And will Jim help her realise her deepest ambitions – or will he break her heart?

Well I finally committed to reading a WHOLE Harry Potter book (Prisoner of Azkaban) and thoroughly enjoyed it, i must say. Am looking forward to the next one but in the mean time I'm reading a whole slug of non-fiction all at once. Sorry not much of a recommendation, is it?
