Hey guys,

Our festival of channukah starts tomorrow night and one of the foods we eat on it is jam filled doughnuts. A few years ago I bought a deep fryer to make them (unhealthy I know, but it's only once a year!) as I didn't like the oil splattering from the frying pan, but now there are heaps more machines out to make these kinds of things. I saw a Dutch pancake maker machine, and they appear to be ball shaped (I've never eaten one - what are they??) so I was wondering from the collective wisdom of the people on here if anyone knows if I used a recipe for doughnut dough would it work? Just thought they might be healthier (and I find they are very hard to get cooked in the middle and not burnt ion the outside even in the deep fryer).

You inject the jam with a plastic syringe after you have cooked them btw...

Any idea's?
