Yay Sarah at the 2 pages, how cute to do tone with Zanders bear!

Deb I try to do the hand/feet pics occasionally. They never quite work out the way I want though. I have taken pics of Joshua's feet in his footy boots for his first footy day page LOL. And I have Jessica's feet in her first pair of shoes I brought her, not that shehas ever worn them LOL. She ate them and I got that pic too LOL. I tried the hand picture and the feet ones, but I couldn't get the right angle. Plus I think I need a way whizz bang camera LOL, everytime I buy a camera I think of a heaps better one I want.LOL

One day I will stop talking about doing pages and actually do them.

If it's a bit slow here tongiht I may finish the one I started, although atm I am bored with it, so maybe I should start somehting differnt. There isn't a rule that says you have to finish one bf you start another is there?

Naaah... no rules Michelle. Rules would make it boring!!
I say move onto something new if you are bored with it.
LOL @ needing a better camera. Ours is ok - should be able to take the good shots but it's the dope standing behind it that's the problem, LOL.

I've got heaps of baby bits photos (including a cute bottom one ). The thing is you have to use macro on the camera & our macro only really works well outside when there's heaps of sunlight.

I actually used one for Zander's christening invitation - I wrote on it in Photoshop then got them printed, 33c an invitation was pretty good! I'll put a link of it onto his website.

I've added a directory with "Baby Parts" to Zander's website - might give you a few ideas. After I uploaded it the first time I realised DUH my address & phone number were on there so I had to blank them out!

    hi

i have just sat down and organised all of jay's photos up to current day and have planned them all and wrote notes on ideas of page layouts so now i can just "hopefully" zoom through them and start doing more up to date photos of the kiddies.

deb i did the body bits of lani when she was in hospital as a newborn, i took a photo of her nose, ear, eye, mouth, fingers, hand, toes and foot i then did her 2nd page as a black page using lilac and baby pink valum paper - writing up the birth story (briefly and not all the gory details lol) then with the pics of the different body bits i used a film strip die cut down the page so it looked like a roll of film iykwim. i saw a similar idea using the film strip die cuts when i was prg in a scrapping magazine so i made a mental note to try and get those photos done first. glad i did.

i am really in the mood to scrap i think i may even get it all out again and do another couple of pages gotta grab the opportunity when my creative juices are flowing lmao

Sarah, Zanders invite turned out great. Atleast you've gotten yourself orgainsed. I was planning to do Tehya's in Sept but still haven't sorted anything out. Look out, you left the address and time on there. You might end up with gate crashers

Deb, if you are having probelms getting good body part pics I have an idea for you. I did this for my gf with her baby pics after her daughter passed away. She hadn't got any body part pics so I scanned in the pics she did have and enlarged them, after going through a few of them we found great pics of her parts and I just zoomed and cropped them out. She now has a great page of her little girls bits

Michelle, I usually have to put all of my stuff away out of Noah's reach. Have been stupid enough to leave it out on occassion and came back to find the pics pulled of a layout.

Stilll didn't end up finishing my page. I have decided to make a mini book to go on the bottom of the page so a little more work is required.

    Take care

Awww...Zander's bits are so cute!! I love the bum photo, Sarah. The invites look fantastic too. 33c is not a bad price at all!

Michelle - Lani's scrap page for all her body parts sounds just lovely! Hope you managed to get another couple of pages done.

Trish - that's a great idea to get all the bits from existing photos. You are a clever chook, aren't you?

Sarah, yay on getting another page done. Nope I don't have a sixxix. Too be honest I do think they are quite expensive and I'm not sure how much you'd really use it. Basically it's just for diecuts soooooo. I know that you can get extra templates for them on ebay though.

It's about $100 for the Sidekick one which is the smaller one, but I've seen them going cheaper on eBay.

One question too then - how do you guys do titles?

Ok... I had an attempt at copying you, Sarah, and took some pics of Gabby's bits. They are on her web site under her first 6 months (I also copied you and made the page into chapters ).
I need to get some of her hands - if she would just sit still long enough

Very nice Deb, and you said you're not very good at it!

LOL - thanks Sarah. Trust me... they are the only good pics I got out of taking about 500 of them, hehehe. It's also amazing what black and white can do to make a picture look more "arty"

    HI girls

Michelle you have done very well! Hope it gets done very fast, it would be nice to feel up to date. The bits page you did of Lani sounds gorgeous! Wish I had thought of things like that. I think I should buy the magazines more often.

Sarah my mum brought Sizzix stuff off ebay, I will ask her who she got the stuff from cos they were great to deal with. She has spents heaps of money getting 2 different mach and loads of dies, so far she hasn't used it but some of the dies are very cute. I guess it depends how much diecuts you think you'll use.

I am going to try later to get a look at the bits pics. And I will look at taking some with my black and white function, cos they looked good from waht I saw.

No scrapping tonight for us cos of the last bib brother. and next Mon I will just be getting back from QLD so I guess none then either. Ah well!

Another question.... How do you guys chose which colours to do on your pages? I really really want to do Zander's first easter page on grey paper. Now I know it sounds weird, but he had a grey suit with a bunny on it so I thought I'd go with something to match that? I have pastel easter stickers as well to put on it. So really what I'm asking is do you guys think grey paper is suitable for an easter page?

Yet another one on the same sort of topic... I have just finished a double page of Zander's birth (first photo, cutting the cord etc) so I have the first page of his album blank IYKWIM. I'm thinking of using some black & white pregnancy shots of me as a sort of "before I was born" type page. The photos are b&w & I have some Suzies Zoo pregnancy stickers to go with them, should I just grad a colour out of one of the stickers & use that as a backing page?

Oridnarily I would just do it, but this album is really important to me cos it's of Zander's first year (the way I'm going it will be massive!) and I really value the opinions of you guys who are more experienced than me. And even those of you who are newbie scrappers like me are a great help

HI Sarah- the grey paper sounds fine to me, I think it will go nicely, put your pics up against it and see what it looks like!

I think that it does depend what colours are in your pics, although of course black and white pics change that idea LOL. I think picking a colour from the stickers would work. Jordan's Zoo pages I just started and am halfway through, I picked a green bground and purple cardstock, as she was wearing a purple top and there were heaps of diff shades of greens in the pics (Grass, trees) It looks good (well I think it does).

Did nothing here tonight, but may see what happens tomorrow, although I really don't hink much will be done this week cos I need to start getting organised to go away on Thursday. AH well!

I am thinking of doing something simialar to what Michelle did, sounded liek a great idea, then all I would have to do is get going, already would have in mind everything I was doing. I just need to find the time.

    Cheers Michelle

Finally got a peek at the body parts pics.

Sarah Zander's bits are gorgeous and I love the invites, that is a great price for them!

Deb- also got into your album, very cute, I do like the black and whites, so now I have more reasons to take photos LOL, as if i need more of them!

    Cheers michelle

Well I have started the black & white pregnancy page & I must say I'm quite impressed with it I decided to go with black paper & I'll be matting the photos & doing the journalling on green (there's green in the stickers). It looks very funky

I think after telling you guys all about the things I'm doing I'll have to bring the book down when we visit in November to show it off!
