How often do u wash your hair??

I love straightening my hair, looks so well manicured, and makes me feel almost feminine! Lol!

But after 1 day it is oily again, and I need to wash it.

I wash my hair at least every second night, but mostly every night. I use the shampoo/conditioner for oily hair. Only condition the tips. Tried a lot if different brands (including one the was $70 for 500ml!!!)

ususally every second day for the same reason (oily) though it also depends if ive had a dark colour out through as that makes my hair oily too

Yeah, every 4-7 days, usually closer to 7. Starts to get a bit greasy after about day 5 but I'm like Joeve, I just wear it up. I hate blowdrying hair and like it to dry on it's own but it's so cold at the moment to have wet hair!

I only wash my hair about twice a week. I don't have oily hair either so I can get away with it. I use Nature's own anti dandruff shampoo and herbal essences conditioner, then occasionally use De Lorenzo treatment

2-3 times a week, depends if I have been swimming or not. If swimming I need to wash the chlorine out so I do it more reguarly. I seem to need to wash it more now that it is short as I can't just tie it up now!

I'm actually in the process of trying to stretch my hair washing out. Everything I've read recently suggests that the longer the hair the longer you should go between washes, because of the fact the natural oils aren't getting to tips and your hair will be unhealthier the more frequent you wash it (weird huh?!).

My problem isn't so much oily hair, but my scalp goes all awful due to scorisis (sp?). But I'm still trying. And TBH my hair is looking a lot healthier for sure.

Yeah I do it about once a week. I've got really thick dark hair and TBH it looks best about 3 days after a wash. I also straighten it because it goes really frizzy and boofy if I don't, so once a week I do the whole production - wash, dry and straighten.

I used to wash it every day but since I colour my hair fairly regularly now (just a few grays!!) I try to preserve the colour for as long as I can so I wash it every second day. I have tried every shampoo & cond. under the sun but I keep coming back to the PPS green one for fine and dry hair. I don't feel it's too rich at all as it's for frequent use so can't be too heavy. My hair is quite fine and goes oily on the second day. I chopped it all off afer DS was born as it pretty much fell out heaps, but now it's long enough to put into a pony tail so that's great. Someone told me to steer clear of oily hair products if your hair is oily and stick to 'normal' hair stuff. Apparently the oily products sometimes stip off too much oil and then your scalp produces more oil to replace it, and can become even more oiler.

my hairdresser told me that darker colours have more moisturiser in them compared to lights/blonde colours due to the bleach which dries out the hair iykwim

Sorry about before. I just can't get the hang of tapatalk, so my messages were a bit scattered

Rouge, how long are you aiming for now?? I've read similar things, but just can't get past how oily it looks. I really should see what it looks like after a week... Hmm

Miss E - I would love to be able to do mine once a week How long is yours? Is it dark?

Yep it is dark, but also really thick so the oilyness doesn't make it look flat iykwim? At the moment it is shoulder length, I did have it long for many years and then went to a bob awhile back, but have always done the once a week thing. For me straightening it is more about smoothing the individual hairs rather than keeping it straight. It does get a few kinks/waves as the days go by, but it doesn't go booffy. There is no way I could wear my hair out just blowdrying it!

ETA: I've been using the Tony and Guy shampoo and conditioner for straightened hair and finding it great. It makes it easier to straighten and I think the hair holds it longer too. Also it's around $15 a bottle which isn't too exxy.
