What is your weight loss mantra?

What is it that helps you pass up on that decadent piece of chocolate cake, or that helps you restrain yourself from ordering the chicken cabonara and going for the seafood marinara...

A few I like are in my sig, my favourite is

    'Nothing changes if nothing changes'

So hit us with your mantras! Give me some inspiration!

I used to have a picture of Dr Phil on my fridge with a caption........

You're fat. Don't sugar coat it because you'll eat that too.

    Love it Onyx!!

    I have a few fav's from Pinterest!

I may not be there yet but I am closer than yesterday.
Think you won't make a difference with one run? You won't make a difference doing nothing.
She believed she could, so she did. (Relevant for lots of stuff!)
and my favourite - No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everyone on the couch.

Totally agree! A friend tagged a pic of me on fb from when I was 13 the other day - and even then as a scrawny pre pubescent I had a muffin top!

    I have this on my fridge;

YOU’RE RIGHT. IT IS EASIER TO EAT PIZZA THEN TO RUN ON THE TREADMILL. IT’S EASIER TO TURN TO ICE CREAM RATHER THEN PEOPLE FOR SUPPORTERS. IT’S EASIER TO SAY ‘**** IT, I GIVE UP’ THEN TO SAY IT ‘**** THIS, I CAN DO IT,’ SO YOU KNOW WHAT? I’M NOT GOING TO SIT HERE AND TELL YOU DAY AFTER DAY YOU CAN DO THIS. IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE YOU CAN, THEN YOU CAN’T. THAT’S THE HONEST TRUTH. YOU NEED TO DO THIS FOR YOU. AND IF YOU DON’T WANT IT ENOUGH, THEN YOU SURE AS HELL WON’T ACHIEVE IT. SO TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT AND REMAIN UNHEALTHY AND CONTINUE TO GAIN WEIGHT BECAUSE YOU CAN’T REALIZE YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE HURTING YOURSELF. I DIDN’T SAY IT WOULD BE EASY. I SAID IT WOULD BE WORTH IT!

Tan, I like the couch one too. It is very true. Doing a little is better than doing nothing.

Aimz, I have heard mayn versions that one too, and while it is a bit creepy (it's on alot of the anorexia sites I think) it is true. Theres a better version that is
'Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels'

Yowie, I like that one. I have heard the 'I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it' bit. I like that alot. But that whole phrase is great!

Starbright, my dad used to say something similar to that, it applies to alot of stuff- 'Nothing to it, but to do it'. I had never thought of applying it to this journey!

Another one I recently read is

'I am tomorrow, what I put in my mouth today'

And someone pointed out in another thread, that I had written something which was applicable to this thread (move over me and my big head are coming through )

'You don't have to keep on eating junk today, or tomorrow, or the next day. Start again now.'

I'm going to have to write all of these down and stick them up around my house!

    Mine is lame and b**chy...

"Gotta be skinnier than [insert name of current weight loss nemesis]"

But it works. Man does it work. It's so sad that I am motivated by this. But it's the truth.

I'm writing these up on some post its and sticking them around the house, lol!
Here are a few more good ones I have found:

It comes down to a simple question: what do you want out of life, and what are you willing to do to get it?

"You have failed only when you quit trying. Until then, you're still in the act of progression. So, never quit trying and you'll never be a failure.---Tommy Kelley

"If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got"

"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall" confucious

Your body keeps an accurate journal regardless of what you write down...

I'm still working on one for food... I love food too much to mantra-ise it yet
