Belinda - How rude of that girl. Shannon has been keeping everyone updated on Jessalyn in The children with disabilities/illnesses thread. It looks like they might be home soon.
Brooke - I hope the Chiro helps Maya. Let me know what the Dr says about your back pain.
Michelle - I hope your feeling better this afternoon.
Not much happening here, Matthew is down for his 2nd sleep of the day, he`s been having lots of conversations with me today.
Does everyone else still get hot in bed like you were in pregnancy, in the last few days I`ve had to throw the blankets off yet Mark is cold, wondering if it`s because of my BB`s producing milk
I am feeling a little better not sure what is wrong. I just felt so down this morning and kept crying i think having AF has not helped.
Alex is doing ok woke ever 4hrs last night. He loves to smile at me when i went in to him around midnight he gave me this big cute smile.
He is trying to talk to me. I stood him up today and he was put one foot in front of the other.
We went to the shops today and i should be banned from going did not buy toys this time i made a big mistake i went in to Pumpkin Patch and spent too much money. I stopped at 2 things for Alex in 00 but i brought lots for Kimberley. DH asked what had i brought myself and as always i said nothing other than something to eat in the new food court.
Brooke - all added. I could have sworn I added you when Maya became one month! Hmmm, maybe I thought to do but got sidetracked? Which is highly likely!
I know i am going to jinx myself by saying this but Alex slept for 8hrs last night so looks like each week it is getting longer.
DH did tell me off last night because i had not brought myself anything from the shops. I did say that i brought myself some potato wedges for lunch. The kids always come first.
How is everyone else doing ??
It has been so quiet in here.
Thanks girls for all your warm wishes for my friend it was much appreciated.
Michelle - im glad your feeling a little better, its terrible when you feel down and dont know why isnt it? I must admit though that its made grieving a lot easier having Hendrix as you have to get on with things. I must admit though that the shock of his death hasnt quite sunk in yet.
Hendrix was great last night and we really caught up on some zz's he slept for 4 hours then was up for 15 mins slept for another 4 hours was up for 15 min feed and then we slept in our bed till 9 this morning. DH went off to work early and i though bugger it we will sleep together until his next feed. I have just put him down again and will attempt to have a bath.
Heather - Hope Hendrix lets you have a bath. Mine always seem to know when i get in. Having a baby aorund does make you feel a little better when you are grieving.
I tried to catch up yesterday, but little miss decided she wanted all my attention (and I certainly didn't mind giving it to her). She decided to be cute and coo and carry on all afternoon. I just sat with her marveling at how much she's grown and learned in 2 short months. It's so much fun to be able to have a "conversation" with her now, where she copies (or tries to copy) the noises I make. So cute. It's moments like those that make it all worthwhile.
I had my first mothers group yesterday. It was really good! I was kinda nervous at first, but there are five of us and all the girls are really nice. The babies range from just over one month to three months, so all our bubs are fairly close in age, and we're all about the same age and all with our first bubs. We have 6 formal structured sessions over 6 weeks, and then it's up to us whether we continue to meet informally. Most groups do apparently. 4 out of 5 of us had emergency c-sections! Yesterday's group was mostly about "debriefing the birth experience" and it was interesting to hear about others' experiences. Next week we have a trainer from Qld Ambulance come and teach us about infant/child first aid and CPR. Should be a good one.
Hannah's having her polio injection today. Poor kid. I feed bad making her go through this twice, but I really did want her to get the inactivated one. I have to pick it up from the chemist and then head over to my gp for 130pm.
Heather - still thinkin' of ya. It must be so hard for you. But as you say, little Hendrix makes for a good reason to get on with things. Glad he's sleeping well for you. Enjoy your bath (hopefully uninterrupted)
Michelle - Woohoo on the 8 hour sleep! That's just fantastic! I know what you mean about the kids coming first. I used to buy myself stuff all the time (clothing items, shoes, skin care stuff etc.) but now I really prefer spending what money I have on Hannah. All part of the mummy mindset I think. Glad you're feeling better....but sorry to hear you've been having a rough time of it. I imagine AF wouldn't have helped much, but your hormones can be all over the place for months after birth too. Just try to take care of yourself. Do something nice for yourself today, and then post about it so I know you did it! Otherwise I'll hassle you 'til you do!
Dee - Now that I think about it, I do still seem to get hotter than everyone else. Especially in buildings with heating.
Brooke - does the chiro seem to help? I'm sure I saw a segment on this on tv a little while ago. Some people seem to swear by it. I've never been to a chiro myself though, so I'm a bit clueless!
Michelle - Glad your feeling better, our hormones give us such a rough time and having AF doesn`t help things. I`m the same I never spend money on myself and if I do I feel guilty, even before Matthew my money would go on everyone else. Yay at the great sleep.
Heather - I know exactly what your going through, if you ever need to talk send me an email. Mark mentioned his Dad the other night and said how it still feels like he`s here and I feel that way too, next think I was crying, I think I better get off this subject tears are coming now. I`m thinking of you and I agree having a little one who`s so dependent on you does make it a little easier.
Juliette - Your Mother`s Group sounds like fun and very informative. Hope Hannah`s vacc goes okay.
I have a very talkative little boy on my hands today, he is learning so much, but at the moment it sounds like he no longer wants to play on his playmat, he`s getting a bit tired so I better go, give him a feed and hopefully he`ll have a sleep.
I'm here Dee! Hannah's injection went well today. She was a brave girl...just a little whimper no screaming the place down like last week. Just FYI...if you want to get the inactivated vaccine next time, they're apparently interchangeable (i.e you don't have to only have one or the other) and if you want to get it instead of the live oral one at 4 months, you have the option...it's $49.95 but if you have private health insurance you can get some of it back. MBF pays $30 back.
Just popping in quickly before Erykah stirs. I have not had great nights the last couple. She didn't settle till nearly midnight last night and thenwas up 3 times in the night. She had all sorts of noises coming from her tummy and whatever it was was causing her to wake up.
Her little tummy is bloated today poor thing and she had big bags under her eyes as she was so tired. Anyway got a few hours sleep out of her this afternoon which is good so hopefully we will get a more settled night tonight.
I am hanging out for the nights when she will only wake once for a feed.
Been to a friends to borrow a baby bath as it was killing my back bending over into the normal bath to bath her.
Hope all have a good nights sleep tonight
Jo
Got my Black Eyed Peas tickets so can't wait for my night out even if it is 2 months away!!!!!
Julette - Glad all went well today with Hannah's needles.
Jo - I am sure it won't be long and Erykah will sleep all night for you. It is hard when you don't get a good nights sleep. Do you have her in your room ?? I found Alex slept better when we moved him into his own room as i was then not jumping out of bed with every sound he made.
I guess it is a bit easier for me as i made all my mistakes with Kimberley.
Dee - Looks like you will have your hands full once Matthew starts to move. He sounds so cute.
I love it when Alex talks to me.
I keep thinking the first 2 months went very quick but this month seems to be going slower. Not that i want Alex to be older but it just seemed he hit a month old and then 2months old very quickly.
Heather - glad to hear that little Hendrix is a comfort at this sad time...I hope that you and DH are feeling better. What a shock to lose a friend..
Michelle - 8 HOURS in a row?? That is fantastic! How did the second night go??
Juliette - your mothers group sounds great. I am booked into one that starts on the 11 August and am looking forward to that. I went to an ABA meeting today which was great as I am meeting some really lovely people.
Dee - how cute that Matthew is chatting to his mummy...can't wait for that!
Well - we have been SUPER busy of late. Running around visiting people and going out for lunch and morning tea. Very Social!
Little Finlay is a gem and I love him more every day....he has his 2 month shots tomorrow though, so I am not looking forward to that at all.
I am changing the sleeping routine tonight as he has started to wake up after 5.5 hours (when I thought I had scored a baby that was going to sleep through the night at 6 weeks...not to be!!) I am going to let him sleep through tonight instead of waking him at 8.30pm and see how that goes! I will let you know if my plan works......
He is still wetting himself right through! This is frustrating as it usually happens in the middle of the night! Is anyone else having these problems? He is in 'Infant' huggie nappies now.
Michelle - what time is Alex's last feed before he sleeps 8 hours?? Are you waking him for a top up feed or just letting him be?
Megan - so lovely to hear your social life is full. I think that is fantastic that you are having a full life as well as handling little Finlay! What time are you giving finlay his last feed? And prior to waking him for a top up feed is he sleeping right through?? What stage did he start doing this?
Good luck with Finlays immunisation tomorrow.
Juliette - glad that hannahs vac went so well. Im not looking forward to hendrix having his needles!
Jo - is Erykah having some good nights sleep? Its really hard when you get a few good nights and then things regress isnt it?
Dee - Hendrix made his first cooing today, like he is trying to express himself but no responsive sounds - i cant wait for this.
Well we have our mothers group tomorrow and plan to go for coffee and walk, cant wait!! Only problem is that hendrix is going through a faze where he wont be put in his pram only likes to be carried in his sling and he is getting too heavy to carry on a long walk - did anyone have this problem?
Im so glad that all is ok with Jess and that her major operation is over. Is all ok now?? What an ordeal that you and your family have been through and what a brave little thing is Jess. You must be so glad to be home. Glad you are back.
Megan - Good luck withFinlay`s needles today. I haven`t had Matthew wet through for a long time, he did a couple of times in the newborn naps, are you making sure his little willy is poking down and that your pulling the ruffles out around his legs? Even after 10 plus hours, Matthew`s nappy is soaked but he hasn`t wet through.
Michelle - I know what you mean by the last month has gone slower then the previous 2, don`t know why.
Heather - it`s funny how they try to make sound but nothing comes out, it will not be long before he`s chatting away.
Shannon - Glad to see you back, I bet your so glad to be home again.
Sorry girls I`ve had to make this short and sweet but I have one unhappy boy today plus we had a bad night last night, and I`m not 100% happy with Mark at the moment, at times I feel Matthew has only one parent ](*,)
