Cut it.
Make sure you talk to the hairdresser about what will suit your hair first and they can help guide you along.... it is their job afterall.
I spent years with my hair long with long layers just at the bottom of my hair. I recently got it cut to shoulder length with short layers and wish I'd done it years ago. I basically just told the hairdresser to cut as many layers into it as she felt necessary to get some shape into it as my hair is quite thin.
I ended up with a very stylish cut and I got so many compliments in that first week I felt like a movie star. Whenever I saw anyone who hadn't seen the new cut they said how great it looked....even all the men I work with were commenting it and you know what men are like....they never notice hair cuts. I think it took years off the way I looked and my hair now frames my face beautifully. I also look like I have way more hair than before because it sits up rather than just hanging there like it used to do.
I can still put it in a pony tail but some strands at the front are too short for it but they just sit behind my ears or you could pin those bits back if you wanted to, but I rarely do it as my hair always looks good now just as it is.... I just wash it and leave it to dry and it just sits perfectly.
