If the baby only got to 5 weeks then I doubt your HCG would still be high enough to trigger a test. All my losses were at around 5-6 weeks and I had BT's after a few days to check and I'd always be back to zero within a week. Everyone's different though so it might be worth a visit to the doc.

    hi ladies

it looks like the mystery has been resolved now...AF just arrived about an hour ago. I was reading another post on here about mixed feelings and that really sums it up for me now, feels wrong to be having a period when i should be pregnant but also a relief that i am back on track and my body has recovered...i guess it is still weird that i had that positive test on wednesday though, maybe it was a really early loss? anyway i guess i just need to look forward now and not backwards and now that i have a starting point i am going to start charting and fingers crossed it won't be too long before i am pregnant again

Good luck to all of you

    thanks tempus

and sending them back to you too...have been reading about your FIL. I was on the cancer rollercoaster for 5 years before my dad died and even if it doesn't end that way i know how hard it is to live that life...sending you lots of encouragement and strength to cope with it all

Thank you so much. Unfortunately, he died this morning. But you know how it is, the waiting at the end. On the one hand, you don't want to lose your loved ones, and on the other hand you don't want them to suffer.

so sorry to hear that, no matter how much you prepare and you are aware it is inevitable it still hurts like hell to lose someone you love

i am sure the next few weeks will be pretty tough for you and your family and i can't imagine going through TTC at the same time- my emotions would be all over the place...just try to be kind to yourself.

You're right, and I am keeping up with my stress reducers (like my guided imagery cd) and I think they help a little, but grief is just one of those things you deal with. But I'm 40, so I don't want to miss any months if possible.
