    Good evening girls,

Well dont we all just love going to the docs, having to bare all dignity and then feel uncomfortable? Yep I went for that pap smear tonight. Why do women get to do all of the great things?
SP: We have gotten a lot of sample tiles. The two we like are the terracotta and cream ones. The terracotta looks good against the green. I am thinking resale down the track too so maybe the cream.
Welcome Herbie. Sorry you have to be here in this thread. Hopefully not for long.

Good question Sharon, i too would like to know the answer to that regarding AF.

I am on about CD7. Time to go to FF and record my temp.

I hope all had a great day.

    Hi Guys,

Just a quick hello, I am still trying to work all of this out however I will get there eventually

Bun-I hope I don't see AF either, but just have to be patient I spose. Hope all is going well for you & dh now

Sharon-I hear what you are saying about when you would like to be pregnant, I am getting to the stage where I do not really care so long as I get the BFP. I would have no idea on the AF question either, have never really thought about it actually.

I have a question too, sounds dumb I know but do all of you chart or have charted or just know when you O? I would love to know when I O but am not really into the temperature thing. I have no idea how else it can be done or if it can

Thanks for welcoming me to the family, I hope I am not in thread for long either. I am positive we will ALL be moving on soon

    Morning girls,

jenjams - yuck on the doctors appointment, isn't it just the most horrible thing to get done? Oh well, at least it is over for a couple of years now! Good luck on picking your tiles!

Sharon - I am not sure about your AF question either. I have often wondered though when entering on FF, usually I just guess!

janeo - hope you catch that egg soon!

Herbie - I did the temping thing for a couple of months, but also read a really good book on fert signs. I have found now that I know about when I O without temping, within a couple of days, but when I temp I can pinpoint the exact day. I think temping for a couple of months helped me to pick up the signs of O, and now I undersand it all so much better! Temping is not a bad idea - I wasn't into it at first either, it sounded like a pain, but was fine once I started doing it. I suppose it is up to you whether you can be bothered or not!

Well, I still have all the same symptoms and I nearly chucked this morning - something smelt really off (I have no idea what it was) and I nearly lost my brekky. I also had another really vivid and strange dream last night. But, I still managed not to cave in and test this morning! I nearly did, but just managed to stop myself. AF is due around about today and I have no signs of her coming yet, so hopefully she won't!

    Hi to everyone else!

    Bun xx

Herbie you can go by body signs for example your cervical mucus plus other secondary signs.. You can do a free course through Fertility Friend that is where most people temp through but the course not only covers temping but the other signs.. I hope this helps...

For all you girls wondering about AF...heres a quick run down as explained to me by my fertility specialists nurse....

If you are just getting periodic spotting or a little when wiping, then this is classified as spotting.

If you have a constant, but very light flow that reaches your knickers/pad, then this is classified as 'light'. If you put 'light' into FF, it will generally start you on a new cycle.

If you have bright red bleeding and require a tampon/pad, - whether it is heavy or medium, then this is what you would put into FF.

HOWEVER - saying that, my nurse told me that once you have bright red flow whether light or heavy and requires a pad/tampon and continues flowing, that this is classified as CD1, and everything else is just spotting as you might have an hour of light flow, but it might not last so it has to be constant. If you are using FF, then it will tell you when you start a new cycle, but if you aren't, then i'd maybe follow the above guidelines.

Hope that helps girls, and i'm sending lots and lots of babydust to all of you....mwah.xxxxxxx

Hi everyone - I'm so busy this week that I can't keep up with you all. So sorry for the brief post (haha I'm sure you don't miss my big posts anyway).

Re: pap smears. Because I have had so many Hysterscopy and D&C procedures over the years, I always ask my FS to do a pap smear at the same time, that way I never remember it!

Herbie - Welcome to our little group. I only checked my temps for a month or two, then started using OPK's & assessing CM. Sometimes I could pin-point when I O'd, sometimes not. When I am on Clomid, I can always tell, as I feel intense pain in my ovaries. I still fill in a chart on FF, as it helps me keep a check on everything else that I think is important. Hope that helps

Sounds like a few of your girls might be sharing some good news with us soon. I agree about not really wanting to have a Christmas baby - but these days, who cares? I'll take what I can get too! lol

Ok, well I have to run. Will catch up in more detail sometime soon.

    Cheers

SP - I reckon that temp rise would definitely be from drinking last night. Your chart looks like a pretty clear O to me where FF has put it, so I reckon AF will be on her way very soon! I agree about your OB - probably a good idea to wait and see how you feel when the time comes about who to see. And I can really understand that want to be pg again!!

Herbie - I haven't done the FF course, but heard that it was pretty good, so as Jane said, it may be useful to teach you how to look for other signs of O rather than charting. Good luck!

Shan - thanks for the rundown. It can all be so confusing!

Hi to everyone else. Today I finally got back the last results from the tests the specialist did. The only ones left were the blood karyotyping, which can take a while and mine are all normal!! Yay! I wasn't seriously worried about it, as there is only a tiny, tiny chance of this being abnormal, but still, it was nice to get the all-clear. This was the test that DH had to have too, and his results are still not back, although it has been ages. We should get them late next week. Again, it is not v likely that there will be a problem, but still, it would be nice to have all the results back so we can kind of put it all behind us. It also gives us some more confidence going into the next pregnancy that there are no known problems, IYKWIM. Still, I am feeling a lot better about things now.

Bun, its Friday. Well done for holding off until today! Fingers are crossed for you!

Thanks Shan for the explanation. It sort of makes sense now!

I reckon I wouldnt mind when my child was born. I am a Christmas girl. (28th Dec) So I really don't know any different.

Everyone to have a great weekend and everyone can either O, get AF or have that wonderful BFP! As for me I will have to start think about BDing soon! (Gee I make it sound like a chore!)

Bun, what is happening! I am hanging out to hear your results. All the symptoms sound really good so far. I have my fingers crossed for you!

Janeo - any sign of O yet? How much does the waiting suck! I have not O'd yet either according to my OPK's, but my temp has been rising over the past 4 days so I am a little confused. Is it possible to miss the LH surge with the OPK's? I have been taking them at 6pm sharp every day, but not a hint of a +.

I've also had some really wierd symptoms over the last 3 days. I have been really quesy and the only thing that seems to relieve it is to eat something plain. I hope I don't have some nasty bug that will prevent me from conceving this month. Have made an appointment with my GP today to see what is going on. If I had not had my AF 3 weeks ago I would almost think I was pregnant! (wishful thinking huh!).

Anyhow, hello to everyone, hope all is going well.

    love

    Hi

I miscarried in October 06 and for the last 3 days I have had very faint lines on HPKs, 3 pregnow 1 clearblue, but I am petrified that if I go to the doctors he will find that I am not +ve. I have been feeling queezy yesterday and this morning, my joints are clicking again and my scalps gone dry (had all 3 symptoms with Maria). Am I just a wimp?

Louise - If I were you, I'd go to the doctor because he will agree that you are +ve! You have 4 BFP's on HPT's, so I'd say congratulations are in order!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Leyla, re. the OPK's. Yes it is possible to miss the surge. Your surge generally peaks and goes within 24 hours, so because you are testing at 6pm, your surge may begin not long after, so by the time it comes back to testing again, it could have gone. It is suggested that you test twice daily - morning and night - to make sure you catch the surge.

Are you getting ANY line on the OPK at all???? Coz if it is feint then it shows some hormones present....hope that helps a little. What has FF said, and have you also be recording CM.....that should give you some idea...

Leyla - I agree with Shan, try testing morning and night, I have only got 1 +ve with the OPKs but I relied more on CM than the sticks.

Well I went to the Drs (Maria is sick ATM) and did another test, it came up faint +ve but said to come back next week and do another test, oh the joys of peeing in a bottle.

    Morning girls.

Sorry to keep you waiting - only just got a chance to get online! Thanks for your thoughts.

Well, I got a very faint positive this morning but I am not sure if it's going to stick. I would expect the line to be a bit darker by now, and it took the full 5 mins to come up. I think I am 13DPO today, although that could be out by a couple of days as I was not temping, I am only going by what my RE said when he did the scan. With my other pgs, I got faint positives on 11 and 12DPO and on much less senstitive tests than the LC ones, so I am really not feeling very positive at all.

I really don't know what to do now. I don't want to make a dr appointment, because it is so early and I am convinced that I will get AF still, but if I don't make an appointment for tomorrow, I can't go for 2 wks as I am away next weekend and can't get there during the week.

I think I will try to just ignore it and not be surprised if AF arrives. Also, I started getting symptoms on Monday, so if this one was going to make it, surely the HCG would be higher by now and would be showing darker on a test, so I think it will probably be a chemical.

Sorry for such a selfish post guys, I hope you are all doing well.

janeo don't blame you on not wanting to BD for 4 days in a row, 2 days in a row is enough for me and DH
jenjams i have to have my pap smears yearly because of some "A typical cells" that where found about 8 years ago and I also have an aunt who had cervical cancer and it was found too late so I don't really mind going to the Dr's and 'smiling' nicely My brother is a christmas baby too, 23rd December and I just decided long ago that if I did have a baby born really close to xmas (a week either side) then family would celebrate on their actual birthday but would give them a birthday party with their friends about 3 months later.
shanthanks for that info i have left it at spotting as I really don't think it was AF, even though I usually have fairly light AF that will last for a maximum of 2-3 days, will just have to keep an eye on my chart I suppose and see what it does next.
saltprincess I know what you mean about sticking with the same Ob because of your history and you don't have to decide now anyway. Has AF shown up for you yet? I have now stopped spotting.
missbelinda nice to see you, I too have to have pap smears every year and have got to the stage where they really don't bother me at all anymore.
Leyla hope your weird symptoms turn out to be something +ve for you.
kitten2b I would say that you are pregnant love so all you need to do now is go and get it confirmed with your gp, just read on further and congratulations.
Bun congrats on your 'faint' bfp I have everyting and ing that this is a sticky one.

Hello to anyone I may have forgotten and hope you all have a great day.

As for me, I just have absolutely no idea at what my body is doing, spotting has gone completely, and I have NEVER EVER had mid cycle spotting, so who knows, I obviously got my hopes up thinking that this cycle was going to be a normal cycle, yeah, right, who was I kidding, should have known it wasn't going to be that simple! fell free to check out my chart, my temps are now all fairly low, but still above coverline (just), now i'm rambling so I will just go LOL

Louise - Sounds like a congrates is in order!!!!. CONGRATES.

Just wanted to add an extra point on the OPK's discussion. I was told not to use first morning urine and that the best times to test were between 10am and 8pm at night. Also do not test after a coffee or big meal. I always tested at 10am just before my morning tea coffee.

    Bun - How you doing?????

Shan - You have heaps of great information to share with us. Thanks v much.

SP- Regarding your OB. Are you happy with him? If so I would go back to him and make sure he is well aware of what happened to you and maybe you should suggest that they make more of an effort in patient care on the administration side (spoken like a true office manager)!!!!.

Herbie - Welcome. Sorry to hear of your loss.

To my surprise FF has told me that I O'd and I have got a coverline, and I thought AF was coming. Good old charting, it helps to solve the mistery of our what our bodies are doing. Here is what I think happened to me so far since my D and C. 2wks after D and C I got AF type symptoms and 3 days of light flow ( which I thought was post op spotting). I recorded this as spotting on FF because I was not sure that I was starting a new cycle or not. Now I am convinced that the spotting was a mild AF, if so that means I have Oed on day 18 which is normal for me and I should expect AF in around 9 days. I thought AF was on her way last weekend because I had some pretty intense cramping (mostly on the left ovary side, which I never get). Now I am thinking that this was O pain.

Sorry to crap on, but I wanted to write this done so some of us could compare notes.
