thanks so much Mel. I guess I need to add clomid to the very long list of things to ask my FS about...I'm happy to hear that you are going to make the most of this holiday season

Hi everybody--Haven't been on this thread for a very long time (and now there's a bunch of new people here--I'm sorry for your losses, but keeping fingers crossed for you). Basically because I got so discouraged with trying and needed to take a break from thinking about my uterus.

So, anyhow, now that I'm not thinking about ttc as much...

    I got a BFP on 11/27!!!

And after four previous miscarriages, I'm equal parts happy and terrified. Already had an hcg level done, going now to get another one.

Baby dust and happy holidays to all.

plc--So glad to know you'll still be here to put in a Congrats note for me one day!! I'm definitely looking forward to that day!!

Krystie--Always makes me smile when I see your avi!! Thanks for checking in on us! Can't even tell you how much I miss our chats! for you and little Chyan!! Will send you my address in a little bit--I haven't forgotten, but thanks for sending me yours! *hugs* and smooches!!

Mel--We ALL knew very little about TTC before we found this awesome site! We all learned by asking the same questions! I'm SO jealous that you already have your tree!!! I think that's my favorite part of the season, is having the smell of the tree wafting throughout the house! Can't wait to get mine!!

    Melissa--My for your Christmas BFP!!

Maddysmum--If you go to the top of the page, in the light purple area under where it says BB, you click on "User Profile". Then click on "Edit Signature", and you can enter in your info and add the smilies that you want. Just make sure that you read the forum guidelines, because there are some rules as to how many lines of text, etc. you have in your signature. I was going to walk you thru the steps to the upgrade for your avi, but then I saw that you had already posted about it in the right section, so hopefully you've got that one all worked out already. As far as a ticker goes, there's some up at the very top of the page under "BellyBelly Tickers", or you can simply google "free TTC tickers" and you'll get lots to choose from! Hope that helps! *hugs*

mollycat--Love your Christmas ticker, but now I have one less chart to stalk! *hugs* Glad that we got an extra chat in the other day! *kiss*

Mannie--I saying with you for a sticky, happy, healthy pregnancy for you!! *hugs*

Easha--Hey stranger! Glad to see a post from you--it's been a while! It's actually been much of the same for me lately... just busy, busy, busy! Wow, checked out your chart, and your temps are all over the place this month! Could the batteries on your thermometer be getting a little low? Sending lots of anti-AF vibes your way! *hugs*

    Megsmum--

Hannah--Sorry to hear about your BFN.... hopefully it's just a little too early, don't give up just yet! It's not over until AF rears her ugly face!!

buliej--You know yourself and your body well enough to know when the right time is for you to be ready to TTC again. Enjoy your holiday season.... eat, drink, and be merry!

tempus--So glad to see you back with some happy news to share!! Congratulations on your BFP!!! Saying lots of for a happy, healthy pregnancy!!

Me--Got my coverline today, and even got a "high" chance of conception. I don't really take much value in that, since I've gotten high scores for the last 2 cycles, and we DTD SO much last month that I really don't see how I didn't get pg! But oh well, what can I do? One day I'll have the time to go get myself checked out.... for now, stress-wise, it's probably best that I haven't fallen pg yet.

Ok, sorry, I know I missed lots of persies, but at least I'm caught up with those that have posted! We're driving DSD's back home today, well half way... but still will take the majority of our day going both ways, especially with the after Thanksgiving traffic. Will try to catch up some more later! Lots of love to you all!

    Hi All
I haven't posted in ages, but I have been thinking of you all. I see there has been some BFP, woohoo! Congrats all and I send you lots of
I have had a tough couple of months with morning sickness, which just seems to get worse, not better. Looking after my little kiddies and trying to run the household, and grow another bundle, I am exhausted most the time. The twins due date was last Tuesday and it has been a very emotional lead up to it, and a really emotional day. Dh and I bought some butterfly balloons and wrote letters to our precious two babies, attached them to the balloons and let them go at the breakwall at Nobby's beach. They sailed off into the sky and hopefully reached the stars. It was a tough day. With Christmas approaching it makes it even more evident that we don't have them here with us to celebrate the festive season. We had an angel ornament engraved for them and it now sits proudly on top of our tree.
I am almost half way with this little bean and I am started to feel it wriggling around. It's nice to know all is ok, but I do have a scan soon, to just check everything and I can't wait.
All my thoughts are with you all and I'm sending some baby rainbows your way.

Leyza - Glad to hear you are doing well.

Possums - Thanks again hun. Glad we can help you work through all those feelings, sometimes it takes a while, but you will get there!

Jen - Yay for a coverline! Am really hoping that this is the month for you cycle buddy

tempus - Congrats on the BFP!!!

buliej - Whether or not Clomid would be an option for you really depends on why you are doing IVF - do you not O on your own (you must or you would have posted that you think you are Oing LOL) or do you maybe have an LPD? Clomid may help you out, but definitely would be asking the FS if I were you!

Mel - No worries about the help. But I have to say, if you Oed on day 22 then maybe you don't need it?? Have you had a full cycle tracked at all? I'm assuming you haven't if you haven't seen the FS yet? The main problem with just a random prog test on day 21 is that it will only be of value if you actually O on day 14. If it is earlier or later then the results will be inaccurate. If I were you I'd be asking the FS to have a full cycle tracked - they monitor your oestrogen and LH levels until they know you are about to O (whatever day that is, it certainly varied with me ) then they tell you to go away and DTD lots and lots LOL then come back 7DPO to have your prog checked. That way you will know exactly what happened that cycle. HTH!

HannahD - Sorry about the BFN Hoping that it was just a few days too early....

Easha - Sorry to hear you've been sick Maybe that is why the temps are all over the place? Good luck anyway!

    Mannie -

Indy - Sorry about the BFN Hoping for a Xmas BFP for you instead!

A big hi and thanks again to everyone - mollycat, babymiracles, plc, AJC, KL, melissal, maddysmum, Toccara, jenushka, WTH (of course ) and anyone else I have forgotten.

AFM - Still not feeling like all this is real, not really having any symptoms much except for cramps. But I got a lot of cramping with DD too so trying not to stress about them. At least there is no bleeding! I am off to the clinic tomorrow for my first BT to check HCG levels are rising, hoping for a good result!

jen805--thanks, it's good to be back. And as always, best of luck with all your DTD!!!

    plc1805--oh my goodness I can't believe you're 34 weeks already!

AJC--thanks and best of luck at 32 weeks!

Possums--hang in there, it looks like you've already travelled a long and difficult road. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Leyza--glad to hear things are going well (despite the morning sickness). Your memorial for your angelbubs was touching. Sending cyberhug.

afm--my second hcg level went well this morning, so I have to see the fs on friday for a scan. I feel relieved for today's results and nervous for friday's test. I'm so glad I have this forum to vent on!!!

megsmum - you are correct...I've looked into clomid and it's probably not for me as ovulation isn't my issue - it's quality (and quantity when doing ivf). In fact, I've looked into almost everything I've heard or read about. I haven't discovered anything new (other than DHEA which I've posted about elsewhere in these forums - but I'm beginning to think that that isn't right for me either), but what I have now is much more comfort with the course of treatment we are pursuing. and that has made me feel much better.

hello to everyone else - back to work for me

buliej - Obviously I'm no expert, but sounds to me like Clomid may not be for you. I think if you don't have any O issues, it may do more harm than good - it affects your endo lining and CM and can also cause cysts in some people - I got one and then it stuffed up my next cycle I'm a really firm believer that it is best for younger ladies who have proven ovulation issues, rather than older ladies who ovulate but where they just can't think of anything better to do KWIM?

I just wanted to mention to you too, I went to see my FS on Friday (the day of my BT) to come up with a plan for my next cycle - I was so sure that this one wouldn't work. He recommended DHEA to me and said it would help with egg and embryo quality and possibly also with egg numbers as I am a poor responder to FSH. My clinic have had a couple of ladies in their early forties with poor results in previous IVF cycles use it and then fall pregnant. He doesn't know how or why it seemed to help, but thought that it was worth a shot for me, but he did say that it takes at least 3 months to start to work. I've now got a script for it here that I hope never to have to use Don't know if that info is of any help to you but just thought I'd mention it.

That is really interesting about DHEA - and that poor responders feel pregnant!!!...I will ask my FS on Wed. I too hope that you don't have to use the script, but can I ask you a few questions about it - what exactly did he prescribe (dosage and frequency) - from what I've read it would be 25 mg taken either as 25 in morning and 25 in evening or 50 in morning 25 in evening. Also, did he mention that you need to go to a special pharmacy to obtain it - one who does compounding? The 3 months is very, very consistent with all my readings - specifically articles written by doctors. A few of them note that a number of older women on DHEA feel pregnant naturally while waiting for the 3 month wait to be over.

buliej - I'm just trying to decipher his shocking handwriting LOL but it looks like 75mg daily to me, and he's given me 3 repeats. And yep he did say that I would have to go to the local compounding chemist. Interesting about the ladies falling pg naturally in the 3 month wait....BTW he was happy for me to start another IVF cycle in late Dec/early Jan when the clinic reopened after Xmas - he didn't tell me that I needed to wait out the 3 months before doing IVF again.

Oh and I just reread my last post and thought I should add too it I don't think older ladies with unexplained infertility should be refused Clomid and consigned to the scrap heap either, I think that FSH injections and possibly moving on to IVF if they don't work should be the go for us. That's because the FSH doesn't have the anti-oestrogenic effects that Clomid has, and IMHO (non expert) they have more chance of success than Clomid does.

HTH buliej and good luck with the FS on Wednesday

I hope my FS is as open as yours to ideas! Thanks for the info. The reason for the 3 month wait might be US insurance driven - since the cost of IVF is so expensive there, they might advise waiting 3 months to get the most out of the IVF cycle because the DHEA takes a while to get into full gear. It didn't give a medical reason for waiting 3 months.

My FS moved me right to IVF after TTC for 6 months and having no success - she said this would give us the best chance. One FS's opinion, but it meshed with my sense so I was happy to go with it. I was just hoping that there would be something we could do to give us a boost during the holiday period during which we will TTC on our own. But as long as we have a plan for Jan, I'll be happy - I like a plan!

Hello. Just popping in to let you know my first IVF (with PGD) transfer came up a BFN. Not feeling too happy about it all, but have an appointment with FS tomorrow to get the next cycle into full swing at the beginning of 2009. Still not sure whether to try naturally this month, given I have a sorry MC history and an estrogen issue (it drops at around Day8/9 then pops back up again and may affect egg quality). Getting a cut and colour on Wednesday and gonna book in for a few accupuncture sessions...
Sorry - no persies. Just keeping my head above water today IYKWIM.

Megsmum - I've only been to the FS once and he ordered all these BT to check if I o and if I have any ovarian resistance as well as one for lupus. Going back on the 11/12 which is now supposedly when AF is due according to FF. The only way I have been tracking my cycles is through my temps on FF which obviously is not as accurate as a BT! Completely confused this month as if I did o on day 22 then I am going to have about a 38 day cycle which I have never had. If I did o on CD13 then AF is due tomorrow. Time will tell I guess. Thanks for the advice - I am making a list of questions to ask the FS and that will be one of them! Best of luck with your BT results.

Buliej - Sorry, I hope I didn't seem like I was recommending clomid to you. I am so new to all of this so I only know what I have read and it seemed like it may be a good option for me if the FS suggests it (I have to know whether I definitely o or not first and that is proving difficult!). I hope you find something that works for you.

    WTH -

Tempus - I am new to this thread so I don't think we have 'met' but big Congratulations.

Jen - Sorry to disappoint but we have an artificial tree, trying to do our bit for the environment We used to have real ones when I was a kid though!

Hannah - How are you holding up?

I hope all these are starting a trend!

Mel- I'm happy to hear all ideas - I too am just learning about all this stuff - I'd rather hear about something and realize it's not for me than not know about something only to learn out months later that it could have helped. I think bellybelly is great for sharing info that we can then go back to our FS with.
