HCG is similar to LH in structure, so basically it is being used to make my body think that my LH is surging so that I will ovulate from that mature follie. Its just a bit of added insurance that ovulation happens because the clinic thinks that maybe I am not quite getting there in terms of LH surge every month. IUI is intrauterine insemination
