Welcome Where There's Hope! I hope your stay here is short & sweet!

My bt has come back good for the rubella etc... & with the hpg test it was below 6 so non pregnant! i guess that does mean i may have ovulated on mon or tues cos my boobs were sore then. So i am doing the tww thing now? Feeling a bit emotional since last night... so not having many positive thoughts atm... feel like crying!

Well I hope everyone is doing well & to everyone! GOODLUCK!

WTH - honey my ob (whom I respect and trust with my life) is not supportive of naturopathy and only smidge more supportive of acupuncture. I get the impression he believes it's all a bit of "witchery". But he didn't tell me not to do it - he said that that was up to me. I can understand how bewildering and upsetting ur ob's stance on these issues as well as on IVF (which I'm surprised about). I think the body goes thru a heck of a lot when m/c's occur and some people need more time physically and emotionally before TTC again. So please be kind to urself - even when u don't feel that ur getting those needs met by medical professionals.

My naturopath gave me a some vitamins and minerals and this drink to take (don't know what it was to this day but must have been a winning formula costing $180 a bottle!!). She specialised in fertility and reassured me that I would soon fall pg. I started seeing my acupuncturist a little bit later and his herbs were a lot cheaper (like $9 a bottle). I was seeing the acupuncturist more regularly (every week compared to every 6 weeks with naturopath) and built a great rapport with and trust in him. The acupuncturist addressed the issue of kidneys as mentioned before as well as metabolism (and possibly fluid intake). In the end I had 2 appts with the naturopath and after forking out $800 during these appts, I felt I had no other option but to continue only with the acupuncturist and focus only on his treatment and herbs in case I came across a conflict along the line with the treatments and herbs. Not all naturopaths may charge that much and money may not be an issue for you but all up I am quite happy to go just with the ap and continue that treatment into my pg. In short, I believe both naturopathy and acupuncture hold a good place in the process of TTC. So that was another rant for you - .

hey tina honey - thanks all is going ok but that doesn't stop me from being sh*t scared that it will turn south tomorrow. I'm much more edgy this time and wish i could just relax... Enjoy HK sweet - you sound like you deserve a holiday esp with all that work you've been doing. Did you get my pm about the ap? I wish you well, hun!

Vanaithi - good to know where you stand with ur results. Honey - whatever you feel - just go with it. I don't think there is any point post m/c when you feel ok about it - just less upset perhaps. Keep strong hun - u will get there - just a matter of believing it hard enough.

AJC - I wish the natural therapies and medicos would live in harmony too - so much easier for us . That is a disgraceful amount of money to outlay - I don't blame ur reluctance to go back. There are cheaper options out there too tho. Big hug hun - I really hope it happens for you soon.

Katie - great to hear from you, sweet, hope ur well.

mollycat - sweet - sounds like ur going great guns at ur place at the moment!!! I hope the out of whack cycle could work in ur favour - there's always hope right?

Hey jen, smilanatu, betty and everyone else (refer Jen's list ) - huge hugs and best wishes as always.

I'm ok - got an appt tonight for 2nd hcg test. Think I'll stop after this one and let nature just work it out for itself. I need to start enjoying the pg as I have been waiting so long for it and think i deserve it. What will be will be. Also I hope I haven't offended anyone by saying what I have said in the past few posts - simply my humble opinion based on my experiences and my mind is open enough to learn more about anything on this all-consuming topic.

Question Uterine lining after first not-quite-normal AF

Got another question for anyone with any ideas on uterine linings after D&C

My first AF 28 days post-D&C was on time but lasted for two days and moderate. Then stopped abruptly. I did spot on Day 7 a few hours after BD. I have read the first period can be light. Question: is the first AF after a D&C a reflection of the strength/thickness/thinness of the uterus? I am wondering because I am keen to TTC this month (and my pre-ovulation signs are good - EWCM for the past three days), but don't want to risk a potential bubba not attaching properly.

Any thoughts? Luving the feedback - so good to have this outlet!

plc - ranting is fine. I think it's great that we can all be so open an honest about our experiences. We all have so much to learn from each other - whether we follow the same paths or different ones. GL for your bt tonight, am sure bubba is growing really strong.

Vanaithi - hope you caught the eggie!

WTH - sorry I can't be of much help with your lining Q but here's a From what I have read a light period following a d&c is very normal.

    Hi everyone,

I've been on my month off TTC, so I've been away for 2.5 weeks and apologise if I'm not up to speed, I couldn't possibly read all the posts. We managed to get through O time without cheating (we used protection) so I thought it was safe to come back in to BB again. It's been a really good "head" rest for me and I'm sure DH as well. I have lost about 1.5kgs too (cant work out how to change my ticket yet though!).

Huge congratulations to PLC, wow!!! Hope the second hcg is really good.

Big hello to everyone,(Im sure I'll get up to speed over the next few days) I have missed you all

    Hi ladies,

WTH - I too had a very light AF after my d&c and my cycle length blew out to 45 days after it too. FS explained to me that until I have a normal AF (as in normal flow) it could be difficult to conceive and furthermore, have an egg attach. This is because when you have a d&c, your uterine lining is obviously thinned down, which would be what it does naturally at the time of AF. So when your progesterone reaches a level that prompts it to release the lining at the end of your cycle, the lining is thin due to having a forced 'thinning' during d&c procedure (hence the light AF). If you allow your body to go through its normal cycle, releasing hormones at the right times and allowing your uterine lining to thicken again in your luteal phase (the second half of your cycle) you reset your hormone levels and thus the uterine lining, which is essential for successful implantation. This is why many dr's will suggest waiting a few cycles to begin ttc again....(apparently)... im no dr but this has been the advice given to me thus far.

It kind of makes sense, since your hormone levels and uterine lining work together and when the presents of hcg and a then a d&c procedure interupts this process, we may need to give it more than 1 month to reset and get back to normal.

In saying all that, some women have gone onto conceive again straight after a d&c and went onto have a normal and healthy pg'cy. So who knows really?

FYI - I also had some light bleeding half way through my cycle after my d&c, and this was because my body recognised that the lining was not optimal for implanation (due to being thinned out before a time other than AF, it had begun to thicken again by the time ov came around in the next month) so it tried to shed some in anticipation for ovulation.

Sorry if this post makes no sense or is completely useless information for you, just thought I would share what I have been told. Obvioulsy when push comes to shove, you just need to do what you feel is right for you, and this may mean giving yourself the chance to heal and 'reset' things as such, to give yourself a better chance of mainting a healthy pg'cy, or to keep ttc...as I said, some women have had success straight after a d&c. Good luck hun in whatever you do.

WOW, issy02. Thanks so much for your explanation. That is the most information I have been able to find on the subject anywhere! Maybe we should wait for the second period. That certainly changes my plans for Mother's Day...

    Hello Ladies....

Sorry I haven't been around much-I have been studying and preparing for my interview that is today! I don't expect to get the position because it is an administrative position and I Have only been in the district 1 year...But I REALLY want to do well so that next time it comes open, I'll have a great chance at it!

Alright, I have stalled long enough...I have been having some symptoms and even though I did not want to test, yesterday morning I caved after one of the girls on my other board who was a cycle buddy got her own BFP...So it was the lightest line ever-so light that I thought I might be imagining it where I new the line should be! So I bought a CBE Digital and took it this morning with FMU and !!!!! I love when it says "PREGNANT" so much easier to decipher!!!!!!

WAHOO a Mother's day weekend and I will be due one day after my birthday in January to me! I can't believe it-Clomid is the wonder drug for me-just hope I got a sticky bean this time-please keep me in your prayers!!! Okay sorry just a little overexcited!!!

mmteacher-- SO HAPPY for you-- and what a GREAT Mother's Day gift!! Good luck with your interview today, but after such great news how can you possibly keep your mind focused on anything but your :woot:

Jodsan: glad to see you're back!

    Vanaithi--Good luck in the TWW!

plc--Hope your BT went well--so glad to hear you're going to relax and enjoy being pg! I know it's difficult, but I know you can do it--you just have to have faith! I have enough faith in you for both of us, ok? You definitely DO deserve to have a peaceful, happy, healthy pregnancy--don't rob yourself of that joy!

AJC & issy--You guys are a fountain of knowledge! Who's needs the docs when you two can explain things so simply and easily?!?! You're both awesome! And, issy, your info could never be useless--you made complete sense! One of the things I love the most about this thread is the way everyone is so helpful and supportive of each other--you make me proud to be a member of this group!

WTH--I've been told that good things come to those that wait! It's difficult and frustrating when you're mind is telling you you're ready, yet your body seems to have a mind of it's own! Hope you have a happy Mother's Day regardless of what you decide to do!

tina k--Wow, Hong Kong! Man, everyone's going on these great trips, I'm so jealous! I hope you have a great time and come back with a BFP!!! Enjoy and relax!

    Hi Girls,
Sorry have not been in touch recently- it has been really sunny here for the first time all year and I just couldnt bring myself to sit indoors on the computer. (Sadly, not been away, Jen)

MMTeacher - WOW! CONGRATS. I cant use simlies 'cos of the pop up blocker, but have plenty of sticky vibes and cheers! WoooooHooooooo!!!!!

Tina- cycle buddy. You are usually a bit ahead of me, but AF is not due for me until Sun (Well Sun or Mon, really)- Are you sure that AF day has been and gone? You may have tested early. Fingers crossed. Enjoy HK!

WTH- Welcome. Sorry that you have needed to find us, but I hope that your journey here is a short one.

Jodsan- Hi! Glad to hear that you are refreshed after your month off. Congrats on the weight loss, although your BMI is only tiny to start with. Don't dissappear!

Jen. about ducky. It made me laugh when you wrote that he had pooped in your hand! Hope you are doing OK over there.

Tempus- Hi. Sorry about your mixed feelings and happy b'day. My b'day is only a few days b4 my previous EDD and I am really hoping to be pgt then, too. It will be a weird celebration if not.

Magda- How are you doing hun? We havent heard from you in a while.

AJC- Glad to hear that the OPK is working for you. I think that they are pretty accurate- so prob better than going by temps, esp if you temp at diff times each day?

PbStar- When are you going to POAS? I have no symptoms either, but am sharing your happy mood!

Vanaithi- Hiya. You made me giggle about the papaya poo again! Have you tried Googling it?

Issy- Hi! Here's hoping for a mother's day BFP like MMTeacher for you too.

Trac- Sorry about your job, hun, but I was really pleased to hear of your scan results. sending sticky vibes your way!

Betty- Hi! I presume that as you are waiting for AF that you have not been TTC this month? (Sorry, I've lost track) Well, I hope she doesnt dilly dally this time!

Nickster and Katie- Thanks for popping in to tell us how you are doing. it is nice to be reminded that BFPs turn into big bellies pretty quickly!

    AFM-
Well, no preggy symptoms, but I don't mind. Reading all about Jen's Dacquori's (Sp?) makes me crave a nice glass of vino- maybe after the weekend. AF is due on Monday really, but i am going to test on Sun, as it is the anniversary of my Grandad's death and it would be nice to have a BFP to take the sadness out of the day. If it is a BFN, I'll just look forward to a nice glass of shiraz instead.

I hope you are all OK. Babydust to all.

    hey girls

well af arrived for me yesterday, way too early. i think i was ok with her coming but the fact it was early is really depressing.

anyway i have decided to make an appt next week to see an acupuncurist and herbalist, i want to start exploring ways of getting my body in optimal condition and hopefully lenghtening my luteal phase. my mum has been hassling me about going for a while but after reading your advice plc it has finally sunk in that it won't hurt and could help.

anyway enought about me- don't have time for heaps of personals so just some super quick ones

mmteacher- congrats on your BFP very happy for you and sending lots of

jodsan- good to hear from you again, i was actually thinking about you a few days ago and wondering where you had got to. good to hear the rest has helped you and congrats on your 1.5kg

jen- you are such a sweetheart for listing everyone's names, you really do make all of us feel important and supported.

issy- my fingers and toes are crossed for you tomorrow and i will be all day today. let us know how you go.

Hey MMteacher - well done - it's a great feeling!! Now try to do what I'm trying to do and just be positive and relax!!

Hello to everyone else - praying hard for those in TWW and sending huge hugs to those who got AF. Sending positive vibes to those UTD and sendning special strength express post to those who don't think they like this journey too much.

Had my 2nd bt last night and get my results on Sunday - if you can send a tiny prayer my way at some stage, I'd appreciate it. Thanks girls

mmteacher - CONGRATULATIONS, that's fantastic. Just think, next Mother's Day you'll have that healthy bubba in your arms! ! !

plc - I'm sure everthing will be fine.

pbstar - sorry about at. I have been tempted to try accupuncture myself but just haven't had the motivation to find one that specialises in fertility. I had reflexology last night which was really relaxing, the only things she picked up on was my sinus (have it bad atm) and my shoulders (always have sore shoulders because I'm glued to a computer all day every day (well when I'm at work anyway).

Canary - hope you get a BFP on Monday, the shiraz would be nice but cross fingers it's a BFP.

Jodsan - you're doing great with your weight loss. Good on you! Sounds like you are nice and recharged - perfect receipe for a BFP!!!!

Have a lovely weekend **Hugs and Babydust to all** and big Hello to everyone!!!

sorry if this is TMI but need reassurance...

Oh - one more little thing - just need reassurance. AF's evil (sister - whatever she is) Thrush paid me a visit shortly after O. It was quite a bad bout of it and I knew I wouldn't be able to wait until af showed up to treat it so I used some canesten cream to treat it. Just worried about the 'what if I'm pregnant factor' and I did a bit of internet searching and found that people have used the cream but just not inserted the applicator too far in so that is what I did. I just didn't see any sense in putting up with it and waiting to see IF I am pg this cycle, treating it surely couldn't be more harmful than leaving the bacteria there?

    Hello Everyone!

Jen~Thank you so much!!!! The interview went well-I didn't get the job but I impressed them enough for later! It was hard to focus though! I can't think of a better Mother's day gift or birthday gift since I am due actually 1 day before my birthday! Also, we get to hear a heartbeat for the first time on our 2 year wedding anniversary! So many special dates involved!

Canary~Thank you for the sticky vibes-keep on sending them my way!!!!

Issy~Have you tested yet? Hope you can share my Mother's Day BFP with me!

PBStar~Thank you! Hope the acupuncture gives you some relaxation and helps with TTC!

Plc1805~ Thank you...Sending some prayers your way for BIG HUGE numbers!!!

AJC~Thank you! Just so you know it didn't happen this time yet but my last BFP I got thrush and my sister got it before both of BFP's for her two kids, so I hope it is a good sign for you-I think the way you treated it is just fine!

AFM~I have my first appointment for bt on the 20th and another on the 28th so I'll just be trying to relax until then!

Hugs to everyone and have a Happy Mother's Day!

mmteacher--All the special dates involved are surely a positive sign of great things to come! Congrats again--I'm so happy for you! It's Friday for us-- woo hoo! BTW, sorry to hear you didn't get the job!

AJC--This may sound like a silly question, but I truly don't know... is thrush the same thing as a yeast infection? Hope it goes away quick for you.

pbstar--Sorry to hear about evil AF! Good luck with the acupuncture and the herbalist, it works as well for you as it has for some of the others!

Canary-- Sorry to hear about your Granddad's anniversary, but you get your BFP on Mother's Day!

plc--Good luck on your 2nd bt result on Sun--I'm sure the numbers will be super high! Have a happy Mother's day mama!

mollycat--Glad to hear the extension is coming along so quickly--you must be so excited! Hope you have a happy Mother's day!

jen - yep, yeast infection or it can also be called candida. ick! ! ! Under control now. Oh the joys of being a woman.

Am happy with my temps so far this cycle, much better than last cycle. I guess the major factor though is the LP so only time will tell.

mm teacher - thanks for the reassurance. It would be great if it's a sign of pg but as usual not getting my hopes up. Trying to just focus on work and a few other things at the moment.

Well off to do some cooking now.......
