Hi jen, I just thought I would drop in and provide some interesting information about lunar conception. Each time I fell pg in the last 12 months, ovulation was at the exact time as predicted on my lunar cycle calandar. Every time my hormonal cycle was perfectly in sync with my lunar cycle....BFP! In between these months, I was out of whack with my lunar cycle, due to m/c, which took a few months to get back into sync with.
After my last m/c I had a 16 day bleed, which totally threw me out of sync with my lunar cycle, then recently as you know, I had a 46 day cycle out of no where. Out of curiosity I checked my lunar chart and it predicted my ovulation to be the 19th Sept (the day I was due for AF, but instead spontaneously ovulated....?????) which made AF 2 weeks late......now, predicted ovulation is for the 18th Oct.....cd19 for me, which is the day I ovulate in my hormonal cycle too.......THEY ARE BACK IN SYNC! So....after all the weird cycles, long bleeds and one huge cycle after the last m/c...my body has managed to get itself back in sync with my lunar cycle........COINCIDENCE????? There is something in this. I either fall pg when my menstrual cycle is in sync with my lunar cycle, or my body does weird unpredictable things to catch up to my lunar cycle again. I think I am a believer, it has to be more than a coincidence.

Jen - You always manage to make me laugh that October is you're month. Sounds like you and DF are trying hard enough.

Angel - I'm so very, very sorry. Thinking of you and DH. Don't make any decisions now. Take some time to heal before deciding what the next step is.

WTH - Sorry to read about DH's accident. Hope everything goes well this week.

mumstheword - Sorry you've had to join us here, but the girls are fantastic support. I don't know where I'd be without them.

AFM - AF arrived this morning. I can't say it wasn't expected, but the suspense over the last week has been awful. I've had absolutely no symptoms one way or the other. Its one thing for AF to show up uninvited, but how dare she show up unannounced. At least I can trust my instincts if not my body.

TTC#1 for 5 months since blighted ovum

hi my name is lydia and I have been looking at these sites for ages and finally decided to post! im 21 and been with my partner for 3 years we are both professionals and are settled so before i go on i dont want to hear the your too young business or u should be married because ive heard it all before no offense! it took 15 months to get pregnant the first time but had a blighted ovum and the sac measured 8 weeks! i had no bleeding or cramping so i didnt find out til 12 weeks it was so awful walking round for 3 months with an empty womb. i chose the d and c as it had not passed after 4 weeks and it was classed as emergency. i never got follow up bloods to measure hcg or a secind ultrasound and i wish i had now for piece of mind as i have a retroverted uterus and sometimes wonder if maybe just maybe there was still a bit of hope. BUT i will never know! my cycle is always exactly 28 days even one month after d and c i was back to normal! it has been another 6 months and im sick of getting negatives! my partner is healthy and im a bit overweight but have recently lost 5 kilos and hopefully alot more! we both dont smoke or even drink! EVER and still nothing has happened. im sure i ovulate as my cycle is clockwork. ive finally made an appointment for my partner to get his sperm tested and bloodwork so hopefully it will rule some things out. I never thought i would have so much trouble i want some answers so we can save for ivf or adoption and have a good 20 years to work it all out. im soooo frustrated im a nurse and see pregnant women ALL the time! and i still cry often especially now as my due date was november 17. the only thing i can think of is i caught clamydia at 17 and it took 3 lots of treatment to cure it but i never got PID and doctors said it wouldnt be that but im still worried as i could of had it for a year as i only found out when my partner had symptoms and we both realised what had happened. ANY help would be great or to talk to someone going through the same thing!

    TCM vs Clomid

    QUESTION
As you know FS has prescribed me 25mg clomid to start next cycle as my cycles are 37 days long to help regulate my cycles. I went to a new acupuncture place today and the AP tested all different points of my hand with some kind of electro device.
He told me so much I couldn't believe it. He even new I had pco. So he said he can fix everything with 1 months worth of tablets and fall pregnant. He said the tablets will get rid of my pco. But they cost $1000 for 1 months supply.

The tablets are so expensive but sound so promising. I'm confused and dont know what to do. What do you think do i trust the TCM or go with the 25mg clomid?

I also posted this question in the LTTC thread to see what they thought.

i reckon try the clomid first i want to go on it myself! try the cheaper one! they give 3 months to see if it works (they try it first before IVF at my clinic) if it doesnt after that they commence IVF but in your case i would commence the acupuncture if u believe in it that much it just might work! good luck! let me know how it goes i have a feeling i might be in this forum for a while!

$1000 seems a lot of money for these tablets....try the clomid first and see how you go unless your happy to pay the $1000 then go for it...let us know what you decide!!

mollycat--*whistling* Who's that hot looking chick in your avi??? Looking good! How did the boys like their redecorated rooms?

Leyza--Hope the m/s gets better soon! Good luck with your 12 week appt. in a couple weeks!

issy--That's so interesting about the lunar conception! I've heard talk of it before in the thread, and have read up on it several times, but was unsure as to whether it would actually work. I've always told myself I would try it to see, but would always forget... it also always seemed too far off from O to be correct, even though I knew that it said that even if you're on your period you could still spontaneously O!! Hearing your story gives me definite hope that it's definitely more than just coincidence! Am definitely giving it a shot this next weekend--even though I got my coverline today, it can't hurt to give it a shot! Everything says if I fall pg this month it will be a girl, so I gotta at least try--guess we'll see whether it really works, or not!

Hannah--Sorry to hear about AF.... hope the evil witch takes it easy on you!

21-- Lydia! Your story sounds so similar to my first m/c, which was also a blighted ovum, I was also the same age, and I was just as far along as you! I also thought I was further along, but had carried around the empty sac for some time before knowing there was a problem. Eerie, it's like reading my own story.... I that your stay with us here is short and sweet, and you're soon blessed with your forever baby to cuddle in your arms! Look forward to getting to know you! Big hugs for you...

Tam--Sounds like an awful lot of money! I think if it were me, I'd give the Clomid (and the B6) a try first, then go from there. whatever you decide!

Angel--Love you and thinking of you always!

and to my partners in crime, plc and Krystie. Miss you both! Love you lots! *kiss*

smi-- It's Monday and that's all I have to say about it!

Me--Got my coverline today! Unfortunately it's only a dotted line, as my negative OPK from CD10 has made it unclear as to whether or not that's actually when I O'ed. It says on my chart that the neg OPK doesn't "confirm the interpretation". But going by my temps, I would say that I did/have. Still going to attempt to keep up the BD'ing just in case FF is wrong, which she's been in the past.... and also going to give the lunar conception a "test" this Sat. and Sunday. Got another "high" conception score, so we'll see!

    TCM or Clomid?

    Hello TAM83,

You know that I am a big believer in TCM; my doctor has managed to lengthen my luteal phase dramatically after only 2 months of treatment with herbs and acupuncture. I am just amazed at how quick the results are.

I don't have PCOS but I know that TCM is one of the most effective ways to treat it. Clomid works for a lot of women, but for some it can be counterproductive (if you have a yin deficiency in TCM terms), as it dries out your cervical mucus even more and adds heat.

I found my TCM treatments quite expensive too (I think I pay something like 200 Pounds for the monthly herbs)

An alternative would be to try the Clomid together with acupuncture? Or is there a possibility to find a different TCM practitioner?

Let me know what you decide! Good luck

    Hi 21andTTC1

I am so sorry to hear about your loss; and I totally understand how you feel with your due date coming up. Mine will be in January 09 and April 09, and I dread those dates. Two of my best friends are pregnant right now (we all became pregnant more or less around the same date), and seeing them now is very painful. But don't give up hope, you're still very very young (hey, you could be my daughter:-), so try to find a good doctor who is proactive and does all the tests, both with you and your partner. I am seeing a m/c specialist now, and it feels great to be in good hands - he tests everything so that he can rule things out, one after the other. I think it is very important to find a compassionate and well organized doctor who understands you and who doesn't think you're hysterical because you ask for tests.

I have also posted a message on TCM (Trad Chinese Medicine) a few days ago - maybe that's something you want to look into, once you have ruled out everything else? (when I started seeing my TCM doctor, she first asked for the "Western" tests to be performed - FSH, estradiol, anti mullerian hormone to check my hormone status). TCM and Western medicine can very well work together.

Wishing you all the best, and don't lose hope!!

Mollycat - look at you and your spunky avatar - nice hun!

    Tam - was waiting to hear what the others had to say before responding. $1000 does seem like an awful lot of money but I agree with Milla re the following;
"An alternative would be to try the Clomid together with acupuncture? Or is there a possibility to find a different TCM practitioner?" Not that I am an expert by any stretch but just think might be worth looking covering all options before committing.

21 - welcome hun. I still hang around to lend support. I hope you find all the support and comfort you need in this thread.

jen - keeping everything crossed for you this cycle - and what a trooper keeping up the BDing anyway - lol! ur DP will be only too pleased! interesting re lunar cycle...hmmm...

BB and krystie - always in my thoughts, each for different reasons.....

smi - haven't forgotten you hun - hope all is well over your way - thought you might need this too

Leyza, Mannie, Hannah(boo AF), issy, mumstheword, WTH, RachelB, AJC and everyone else I have missed - big hello and hugs.

Wow - look at my avi - I only wish I was that thin. It even shows the boys (i'm sure that they must have had a photo (DS1 has dark hair and DS2 has lighter hair). Talk about spooky, I never told them that. She's beautiful isn't she.

I didn't get into trouble, although DS1 used some choice swear words when he saw. DH just shook his head and walked away. They've accepted their new rooms, now just have to get DH moving and fix up the reno. (that's where i've put DS1 at the moment - or at least just his bed which I figured we can move out when we are working in the room).

Jen - Yay for coverline - with those temps I'd say you O'd. now just wait and see.....

Angel babies - I too am just so very sorry please make sure you are looking after yourself. Hope you are feeling physically better soon.

Jen - I reckon you o'd too... good idea to keep up the bd'ing for insurance, hehehe. Can't let that get away!

afm - sneaky post before work so can't stay and chat ...... I have my that it is a nice little implantation dip on my chart.... and am losing willpower rapidly to hold out until Sunday to test, as per ff. I'm going to give it another couple of days and then I'm breaking out the first response!! Ah, the madness of the 2ww!!

Oh Angel Babies - I am so so sorry sweetheart.
Hannah - Damn AF nasty witch
Lydia - I hope your stay here is brief honey. No one here cares how old you are, we are all trying to achieve the same result.
Jenushka - hold on petal, your BFP will be all the sweeter!
Milla - I am a huge believer is TCM - the stats with IVF are amazing
Hi Mollycat, Smi, plc and everyone else.

AFM - tomorrow I go to OB for a check up in the morning and in the afternoon is Charles's memorial service. DP and I had a cry together last night, neither of us really know what to feel. Counselling is really helping me but I think I really need to get back to work.
I went and had a scan with FS on Saturday and we thought I was day 11 but my levels are all over the place and I go back on Thursday to check. Will keep you posted.
    I have missed you guys!
