I need brutally honest answers so don't hold back and don't worry about offending me as nothing you say will!

DP, DD and I often have dinner at our local sports club, they have in recent years upgraded the club and it is actually really nice now. Those who live in my area know this club as the West Belconnen Leagues Club (now known as the Raiders Club) at Kippax. Anyways a few weeks ago i went to the bathroom and on the back of the door they had a poster about they now do weddings (maybe they always did, i'm not sure!) and from the pictures it looks really lovely. They offer:

·Two course dinner

·Dance floor

·Room hire

·Table floral arrangements

·Chair covers and sashes

·Champagne with the toasts

·Tea light candles on each table

·Skirted head table

·Cake table

·P/A and lectern

The prices sounded reasonable as well, about $90 per person and they have different sized rooms ranging from 300 people to 60 people but i doubt we could even find 60 people who would want to come!

Getting married has been on my mind for well over 5 years (we have been together 8 years this august, he proposed on our 10 month anniversary) we don't want a huge celebration as we don't really have a lot of close friends or family for that matter who we would invite. We had planned just a small private ceremony probably just us, our mums and maybe our bestfriends. And we wanted a spectacular reception but nothing too fancy ITMS?

I think the club idea would be really nice, we are familiar with the venue, its reasonabley close for our guests and we can stumble home afterwards

But i have to ask if its a tacky idea and our guests would think it is too.
