My friend wore pretty white thongs, they were leather ones with little diamontes on them, I think she said she paid $20 for them, we only saw them when she was moving around to get photos taken (in a garden) and she had to pull her dress up so she didn't drag her dress on the ground. Wear what is comfy!

Absolutely. The bride(s) can wear whatever she wants.

I wore a black catsuit and black boots (many moons and kilos ago).

I had thongs for my wedding......pink havaianas and i dressed them up with some swarovski crystals so they sparkled!! My bridesmaids all had mint green ones with swarovskis on and they looked awesome!! Go for it! If you are not comfy you wont enjoy the day...I wore high heels down the aisle but as soon as the cermony was over I swapped shoes...... I think it cost me about $20 to decorate the thongs with genuine swarovskis right down both straps, add about $20 for the thongs so $40 tops finished!! cheaps as chips!

    Congratulations Leasha & Shell.

I hope two have fun planning your special day!

    I say go for it!

I'm like you can't wear heels for the life of me but am going to have to get used to it sooner or later as the dress I plan on wearing for my weeding needs heels!

Congratulations!!! Yes you can wear thongs. I wore thongs, pretty white ones. I had the ceremony on the beach and reception on a cruise boat. There was no way I was wearing high heels.

my wedding pic complete with "thongs" - comfortable and something I could wear afterwards (unlike the dress which is now TOO big for me and will have to be re-designed)

I am not a fan of thongs anywhere (perhaps cos i can't walk in them) but i agree with the others, wear whatever you like!

I had a 'nice' pair of flat sandals that lasted a very short time, before i got back into my comfy converse all stars! I had bought a bone pair (cos its almost white) but with the big dress no-one noticed anyway, and i wanted to still be walking at the end of the night.

We do have a couple of pics with the 'connies' peeking out of the dress and i love them. So me.

Congratulations Leash & Shel!! That's fantastic!

And yep, go the thongs. Blisters and sprained ankles are no fun (and think of the dangerous combination of champagne and heels - eeep).

I would say no to havvianas!!
    DH wore havvies!

I wore thongs, but only because MIL insisted I wear shoes... I didn't want to wear any. Then halfway through the ceremony, noticed that DH wasn't wearing his - and I nearly interrupted the whole thing to say "WHERE ARE YOUR SHOES?!?!" but thought it might be a little unclassy.
Tomorrow when I wear my wedding dress again (it's our anniversary!) I'll be wearing it with gladiator sandals! So go for it, and have an awesome day!

Can't wait to hear all the details of your ceremony once it's done!! I love weddings (I'd call this a wedding personally because even if our backward state doesn't recognise it, it's the same thing)!!
I personally would go the route of flat sandals rather than 'thongs' (when I think thongs I think Havaianas lol), but that's just me. I'm a die-hard stiletto-obsessee and wore heels on my wedding day even though I was heavily preggers and my legs ached for two days But my groom wore Chuck Taylors, I whole-heartedly encouraged it, so do whatever feels right for you

If it's on the beach or in a garden setting, I think barefoot would be a cute touch, too!!
