    hi all,
just been and had Nixon weighed.
    weight 4250g (up 260g in 10days)
    length 56.5cm (up 1.5cm in 10days)
    head 37.5cm (up 0.5cm in 10days)

so i am very pleased with his weight gain! i thought he had grown in length from his clothes.

DH & I love the snow yes. My DH runs a company (as well as his day job) importing snowboards/bindings/outer ware. So this w/e is a demo weekend they set up a stall type thing and ppl take the boards for a few runs.
Nixon will be inside the whole time, only time being transfering from the car to the appartment really and i will have him well rugged up! If the sun is out i might take him out for a photo but thats about it.

Lisa good on you for joining the gym. I dont fit into my pre pg clothes yet either and it really frustrates me i hardly have anything to wear! and great on the sleeping! Atleast you must feel more human getting a good nights sleep!

I sometimes call Nixon NIX. dont want to call him Nic because i am also a Nic!

Lisa - my little charlie is 7.2 kilo's....... good stuff at joining the gym. i lost alot of weight in the first 6 weeks - but now i have hit a brick wall - no matter how much excercise i do nothing moves the jelly belly!

Gav has been really good - saturday was the first time he has been out since charlie was born. but i still have no sympathy for him!

Sounds great Lisa, both the sleeping & skiing. Same here on the weight, I still have 10kg to loose for pre preggo weight & another 3-4kg for pre wedding weight. I'm using a 1mth free membership my sis won, but nothin happening here yet (since 2wks ago).

    Hello Everyone!
Theresa- Im really hoping all Em's tests all turn out ok? .... You must be really worried. Poor Georgie and her choking, but its great to see she's putting on some weight now. Hope all goes well in Brissie. I will be thinking of you and your family.

Nickers- Hope you and your little family have a great time at the snow!!! Ive never seen snow! how sad is that! LOL
Great stats for Nixon! sounds like hes catching up some of the other bubs now! Logan gets called Logie or Chubba! His cheeks are just soo full and chubby atm.

Shell- Im really struggling with my weight also, but when I really started to exercise after Jasper I also lost all my milk .... so Im very wary of how much I do because I dont want to loose my milk just yet. How is Holly going?

HI to everyone else sorry for no more personals but I can hear Logan starting to stir.
Just a quick question though, Im finding that when I put Logan on his belly for a bit of tummy time he is having problems lifting his head? and even when im holding him he is still really floppy in the neck? Logan does seem to have a rather large head compared to Jasper at this age though?? Im seeing the CHN on Wed so Im hoping to get some answers from her, but just thought Id check and see if anyone else's bub is the same??
    Talk to you all soon.

It's been ages since i have posted but we have been so busy...i have been popping in to catch up on the goss though lol. We have been in dubbo visiting my mum and dad but we are home now. Abbey is doing really well...she has just started to laugh without being tickled its so cute... she can't always get it out but she tries lol. She hasn't been weighed for a while but you can tell she is getting bigger and she looks more grown up everyday...it just goes so fast.

Theresa... Happy Birthday for Emma!! sounds like she had a great weekend... i hope all her tests go well and that everything comes back as ok. it's good to hear georgie is doing well.

AMH.. Abbey has always had good neck strength but i think its different for everyone..it might just take him a little bit longer but i'm sure its fine. Abbey has the chubby cheeks too..its so cute.

nickers... nixon has just reached abbeys birth weight lol...and he is growing so well, they are great stats.. have fun at the snow!! we keep meaning to go but haven't got around to it.

Just a thought about Logans neck? do you think it could have something to do with his shoulders getting stuck when he came out??
Amanda you said your Abbey hasnt had any trouble with her neck and she had shoulder dystocia too didnt she??

yeah she did... so i don't think its that, although she wasn't stuck for very long. He might just have a heavier head so needs to wait longer for his neck to get strong enough. most people are surprised by abbey's neck strength so she might be the exception?? i'm sure your MCHN will be able to let you know.

well Nixon had his biggest sleep ever last night! his last proper feed was 150ml bottle @ 9pm. then i topped him up bf @ 10.30pm and went down at 11pm.
he has only just woken for his feed at 9am!! i kept waking up in anticipation he would wake up! i woke at 6.30am (his normal wake up time) then when i woke at 8am and he still was asleep i took the oportunity to have breakky and get myself ready.
going to mothers group today, looking forward to it!

Theresa good luck with Em's results tomorrow
Amanda Ive been meaning to tell you. I heard that the 21st of April is the "actual" birthdate of the Queen!
Abbey was born on the same day as my neice thats why i took particular note when i heard it.

    just a short hi!
AMH - don't worry too much about Logans neck yet, Caden hasn't any trouble but the MCHN said that babies develop at such differnt rates that what one is doing another may take a lot longer to do or less time, do talk to your MCHN but don't worry.
Nickers - those stats are great, well done to you and Nixon. Hope the snow stuff is fun for you both too, would love to be able to head to the snow but our 4WD only has 2 seats in it and not a fan of heading that direction in our other car (small car)
Theresa - you, Pete, Em and Georgie are definitely in our prayers too, hope the docs and specialist find out what is going on and that what they find isn't too serious and easily fixed!

As for those with the weight issues - add me to the club, got my first gym session this Thursday providing my doc faxes them a letter saying I am well enough to exercise.

Caden is sitting on my lap sucking on anything he can put in his mouth (usually hi fists or dummy) and chatting with things he can see out the window, how good is life.
    bye for now,

Joy - it really amazes me how they can chat with anything - charlie has a little friend hangong from his mobile - he talks to it all the time!!!

Anna- don't worry about hs neck, he will be fine, as amanda said babies develop at all different stages - charlies neck is still abit floppy if you lean him forward.

Nickers - i love the snow - although i'm not very good at skiing!!! I was born in scotland so i grew up with snow. I'm sure you will have nixon wrapped up so he won't feel the cold at all. If you get a photo be sure to load it onto your web page. oh and BTW - That is an awsome sleep - i made the mistakes of feeding charlie at 7.30pm and puttinbg him to bed at about 8.30 ( he was tired) and then he woke at 2am and 6am - nearly killed me!!!! so tonight i'm going to feed him at 10pm and see if he will sleep through
edited - I see you went to my birth story - being in hospital for 2 weeks before was the most boring thing!! my best friend was on her honeymoon so she couldn't come and visit me - luckily i got put in hospital on the sunday after her wedding.
How long did Nixon have to stay in hospital after he was born?

    Hi everyone,

Theresa - good luck with all of Em's tests, I hope everyone goes well for you!!

Anna - Tyron's neck is really strong, but I have given him lots of tummy time, I turn him on his tummy for a couple of minutes after every nappy change, but babies all mature at different stages so I wouldn't worry, I am sure Logan's will be holding his head fine in no time. I am also just about to start Babyroo (jungle gym for babies) which is supposed to be great for their head control, I will pass on any great ideas I get.

Jacci - Tyron has the exact same outfit that Charlie has on in your ticker, it is just so cute!!

Sushee - have a nice time with your family!

Nickers - that is a great sleep, I must admit that after a very rough start, Tyron is great now, it makes you feel so human when you get sleep!

Well off to Target today to check out all the toys before the sale starts!

    No Abs for a while??

    Have a great day!

Jacci- Nixon was in hospital for 4 weeks. I thought i was going to be in hospital for 4 weeks to! Cause when i was admited they said i was staying in hospital until i had my baby and that could have been that day or i could have lasted up to 4 weeks.
Well once i got through the first 3 days i thought ok im going to be here for a while, DH bought me a crossword book & Magazines/ friends broght in some books/another friend was coming in to give me a portable dvd player and just when i thought i was going to settle in i went into labour!
i was lucky that i was admitted good friday and had him easter Monday so DH didnt work through that time and he was with me a lot of the time. After Monday though he would have been going back to work and i'd be on my own.....my best friend was also o/s so spewing she wasn't here when i had him.
what did you do to pass time?

Oh no Theresa, hope they figure out what's wrong with ur DH's back and that it's not bad news for Em. OMG u've been thru the mill. Hope u all have a great b'day wkend.

Holly's great thanks Anna. Tummy time (bout 10mins/day from shortly after birth) helps with neck strength & avoids mishapened heads, however some people I know weren't told of this. Also for spewy babies, instead of tummy time on floor, can give tummy time on mum's or dad's tummy (so on about 45degree angle). Like the others have said, bub's develop at diff times, so hopefully it's nothing to worry about. My lil Holly isn't giggling yet & is only just starting to grasp toys when I put them in her hands, but all other bub's in the mum's groups I'm in are doing this stuff, however Holly has had good neck strength since about 1-2wks old, not overly concerned as some develop quicker & some slower.

    That's a great sleep Nickers.

Joy, tis funny how they suck on their fists huh, trying to get it all in, hehe. Holly put one of her teething ring toys in her mouth for the first time last night after I put it in her hand.

Hope ur all enjoying being a mum.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and ideas, I think Im finding it strange as Jasper was soo strong right from birth and Logan is now almost 4mths and still struggling. Looking forward to my CHN app as I havent had Logan weighed for a while now.
Also for anyone who is BF second time round or first do you feel any pain while you are having a 'let down'? I get a horrible stabbing sensation in both boobs while my milk is comin in whether I am feeding or not? have mentioned this to some midwives and they said it was normal but the pain is pretty intense Im not so sure???

Nickers- great news on Nixons sleep!!! hope he keeps it up for you!
Lisa- Ive been hanging out for the toy sale here too! we only have target contry here though and have limited amount of toys so first in best dressed. Im going to try and be there at 8am when they open!
Jacci- Logan loves chatting to one particular toy also, Its very cute the way he grins and goo's at it.
Sushee- hope you enjoy your week with your family! I had my little bro(he's 12) here for the 2 weeks of schools. It was soo nice to have a helping hand!!
Joy- so good to hear that your enjoying your little man!! they sure make it all worth while.

Anna... i get a pretty sharp pain when my letdown happens, its like my bbs go really tight. It's only for a couple of seconds, but it does hurt. And i also get the occassional pain like you described when its not my letdown. i hope its normal lol !

Toy Sales... We went to the kmart one and it was so hectic! And we spent heaps lol, don't think i'll go to the target one...i'll get in too much trouble lol.
We got the baby leap frog system and some books to go with it..it looks so cute and hopefully she likes it.

Abbey tries to put her whole fist in her mouth too, and has just started just putting in her fingers, its so slobery lol
