Grrr, I wrote a post the other day and have just realised that it's not here! How annoying!!!

Oh well...It was something along the lines of the fact I can sympathise with you Von, and that you're definately NOT a bad mummy Mel. We all do the things we need to to get along in life. Our kids are none the worse for it!

How's this for a bad night Von...last night I was up every hour or more. Once for and hour and a half with Liam and once for and hour with Lily. Then for varoius reasons withone or the other, dummies, feeding, drinks...I'm beyond tired. I'm over trying to sleep. Why bother I never get to?? It was the same the night before. Night before that not so bad, but still pretty miserable! I'm soooo over it all and I'm considering going to Karitane, even though I don't agree with how they 'teach' babies to sleep. But I need to get sleep. I haven't had a decent nights sleep for almost 2 years. Now Liam is here it's even worse. I'm so jack of it!!
Ok that's my little whinge for the day, can't muster up the energy to write much more! Hope you all have a great weekend

    Hey All....
Woah I am melting! I am over this heat already! I think our electricity bill is going to be in the 4 figures! And I am ovulating so DTD is sending me over the edge! Its too hot for that!
Wow Kel, on your scale my night was tame, once at 11:30 to turn the ac on and open Beaus door, waking him up in the process and having to sit up with him then to get him back off then my silly dogs escaped and were in the neighbours yard barking their heads off at 5:30am!! Hugs to you, I think in this heat its hard to sleep anyway and function in the day let alone with two wakful bubbas! I think you should call karitane, you never know, now Lil is older, she might take to it quicker and it wont be as bad as you think. Its worth a try. You can make the times as short as you want that you check in on her remember, you need some rest, otherwise its impossible to think, be a mummy, be happy or string a sentence together! Would you consider Lil maybe going into family day care or something for a day a week to give you a small break?
Mel - Wow you sound rested after your nice sleep! Good on you - hope it continues! I wouldnt feel guilty about any decisions you make as a mum, you have to look after yourself and your sanity too so you can be a mum afterall.
Von - Wow you have been through the wringer, James sounds like he is punishing you for going back to work the only way he knows how! Does he take a bottle to bed to chill him out? Is it his teeth do you think? Have you had his ears checked out? Sorry I have no real advice but I hope things are improving now x
Us - Were ok, my SIL just rang and they are doing a pop in soon so I need to get moving....my other brother is coming tomorrow and I have had my mum and her husband here this week and they are coming again next week to stay. Dh, Beau and I are going to hibernate at home this long weekend I think!! Happy Australia Day everyone!!!

Melissa-I was prescribed phernergan from my GP when James had an allergic reaction to something and his eye puffed up the size of an apple...anyway I have heard that is makes them sleepy and thought yay maybe I would get some sleep..BUT would you believe it did nothing to help him sleep...it did however help with the eye

Kel-I am sorry that you are also having sleep issues...I would call Karitane you have nothing to loose..I tried a centre like that here but it was not for me but i did pick up some good tips that i did not think of.

Jen-yep i am soooo over the heat as well I have a wedding to go to tomorrow and it is outside in a winery so I am hoping a cool change comes through cause i dont think i can stand outside in the heat for an hour while they get married....James still has a bottle at night..the only way i can get him to sleep, I am thinking it may be his molars coming through...

us-well last night i was up every hour and a half with james so feeling stuffed again today..what i find amazing is dh just sleeps through it and at the moment he is sleeping in the room right next door to James' (don't ask)...anyway when i go into James' room i can hear him snoring through the bloody wall ok well i have a wedding tomorrow and nothing to wear so will have to go pull all my clothes out now to see what is wearable...

Hey Von...hope you found something to wear to the wedding in this ridiculous heat! You know what they say, babies can sense tension in the house....otherwise maybe Dh's snoring is keeping james awake too?????LOL

    Hey girls,

I've been MIA due to a couple of days of feeling really tired and unwell. Two bleeding nipples and a mastitis scare thrown in just for good measure!

Apart from that, we're doing well Jared had a great night last night... slept for four hours, woke up for a feed and then slept for another three. Boy it makes a difference! For the first three nights he was here, I didn't sleep much at all, which is why I was feeling so ill. Anyway, hopefully it's all behind us now.

Ben is waking too early in the morning though which is a pain. He hears us up at 5am and decides that he'd like to get up and play too. Hopefully he'll settle back into later sleeps soon. I don't think the ridiculous heat has been helping much either.

Sorry, I don't have time to catch up much right now, I want to right up my birth story before it becomes too foggy to remember.

    Take care

    Howdy girls,

Wow, time is so flying for me I come in here thinking it's only been a day or two since I posted, but it's been almost a week!

Jen, the heat here has been foul hasn't it? I've been going from my place (aircon) to mums (aircon and pool) and back again, and that's it! Though today was much cooler! Thankgoodness. Since having Liam I so can't stand the heat...
I'm so torn over calling Karitane. I get to the end of my tether and then all of a sudden we;ll have a week of great nights and I'll think thank god she's sleeping, and then BAM! It starts again... and I just keep thinking it will stop soon, she's nearly 2 and she'll get the sleep thing...and now I think her ears are playing up again which is why she's been so bad again. SO I just don't know what to do!
I would love to ba able to send Lily to childcare or something for a break, but money is too tight for it. CC in our area is $60 a day, just too much. As an early childhood teacher, I have very specific requirements too, so it will be hard for me to find a centre! Family day care is cheaper and more appealing, but is fairly hard to find a place. She will be going to occaisional care when I start working for four hours once or twice a week if I need it, but otherwise it's too much money

Von, your nights sound like mine lately...they suck. Big time! My DH isn't as bad as your's he does eventually hear the kids, but he can sleep through most of it....where as I'm up at every peep. I think that's half my problem. I think that makes it all the more stressful cause they're not there to help, kwim. Well it does for me sometimes, and I resent that he can have a good nights sleep regardless of if the kids are wakeful or not. WHere even is the kids have a good night and I get to sleep, I can't cause I'm wondering why they're not awake, LOL!

DG, sorry to hear you're having a tough time. I hope things settle for you soon, it might take a few weeks but it does get easier and you get used to the extra work. You're lucky Jared is sleeping so well already, Liam is still up every 2-3hrs most nights Sorry to hear Ben's up early though. For me it's the early mornings that are the killers.....anything before 6am these days really hurts!

As for us, well, DH is on holidays now for 2 weeks (yay!) and I get to catch up on sleep! LOL Lily has been ok, a bit stroppy some days which has got me thinking her ears are sore again. I will be taking her to the GP tomorrow, and we have another specialist appt in mid Feb. I'm thinking dairy will be off the menu for a while. Which is ok for me, at least she won't have to have an operation sor grommets.
We are going to Adelaide in a few days (so I won't be online much in the next week or so) and then I start work and uni again in Feb, so I will be busy busy busy!!! I only have one unit to do for uni, and I'm only working 3hrs a day, but it will be fun trying to keep up with everything! I'm thinking BB might be the thing that's going to have to suffer for it all! But I will still be around a bit.
Ok that's it for me, I hope everyone had a great long weekend!
    Ok gotta go

Hey Mel- sorry to hear about your sore boobies...ouch. Like Kel said, things do get better...albeit slowly!!!! Bugger Ben is waking up early though, hopefully he will settle quickly back into his old routine.

Wow kel you are going to be one busy chick...i admire you. Have fun in Adelaide.

Us- well Olivia is pretty much finished with her day sleep She gets tired around 5pm which is wy too early, so the rest of the evening is hard yakker coz shes a misery guts. We get her into bed by 7 ish and shes asleep straight away. I miss her having those arvo naps coz I am buggered by then. Am hoping its a phase. We still go through the same routine though- in bed at 1pm and bottle, she has rest time, although she usually does poos so i have to take her out of the room. Oh well....it cant last forever.

Shes back climbing everything again. She tries climbing the fly wire screen door, on tables...which she fell off today and scraped her chin, up on the edge of the couch. Oh and shes also worked out how to climb up the handles of the cupboards in the kitchen.

Rebecca is doing well. I cant believe she is 10 weeks already tomorrow. How time flies. She smiles lots and is desperately trying to make noises...so cute. She has her moments with feeds, last week for 2 days in a row, she fed 2 hourly and didnt want to be put down, then the following day she slept all day between feeds. I can never keep up with what shes doing!!!

We are doing pretty good managing it all. My body has healed reasonably well, although I have about 12kgs to loose Doesnt help with the bowel of ice cream dh made tonight Dont think I will go back to work this year either, unless we are desperate for money. And if I need to I will probably do night shift on the weekends.

Ok, I should get to bed...the tennis is keeping me up, and bb!!
