CM4E ... Veygas was doing that too, but he has settled down alot now and often falls asleep mid feed!! So there is light at the end of the tunnel!!

Hi there Mummies!
I've been having computer issues and DF last night had to wipe the whole thing and start again! ARGH @ technology!
So, I have NO chance in you know where of catching up, so I am going to start from now!
Seven has given us a rough start the past 5 nights. I really need to try and keep her awake more during the day, but how do you keep a 5 week old baby awake when they don't want to be!!!!
We also have her on Infant's Friend and Brauers Stomach Calm, as her stomach works overtime 24/7. She is constantly pushing, grunting and groaning, and it can't be comfortable for her, but, she rarely cries or screams, only when she is so tired she loses the plot, and even then it doesn't last long.
She just has a habit of being awake from about 11-2!!! ARGH!!!
Anyhoo, enough about me. I hope you are all well, and getting plenty of rest. HA who am I kidding?!?!?!?!
Hope you are all having a good day, hopefully I can come back later and TRY to catch up!
Love & Hugs
CM4E ... Veygas was doing that too, but he has settled down alot now and often falls asleep mid feed!! So there is light at the end of the tunnel!!

I think she will sleep well tonight as she has been awake for most of the afternoon, since about 12.30.
DS has a migraine so I can forsee in the near future us having to head off to the hospital with him as we usually do for fluids and pain relief.
I walked to school to collect him and they called me to tell me he was sick as I was arriving! He couldn't walk home so I had to briskly walk back home, put Seven in the car and then go BACK to school to collect DS. Then off to the chemist to get headache dispersable tablets, now back home and he's asleep and Seven's awake!
Hopefully DS doesn't get too bad and we can all have a good nights sleep!
Hmm.. now you have got me worried Kell - DD has been sleeping all day - just waking up every so often but will drift off again if I stick the dummy in her mouth and pat her on the back.....
She's been waking for feeds but thats all!!! Oh well, after the few unsettled days we have had maybe she is catching up on her sleep (or having a massive growth spurt!!!)
Hope she wakes up soon to be fed so I can feed then bath her with DS.....
Veygas had a mostly awake day today - didn't get too antsy until about 2.30pm (right when I was getting DP's dinner and work stuff ready) so I had him in the bath at 3.30pm and he was fed and asleep by 4.10pm! I think he might wake somewhere between 10pm and 12am, but then I hope it's only once after that and before tomorrow morning!Days like this I wonder how DP (and myself for that matter) expects me to work at home!!!
Especially when I have to keep the munchkins quiet while he sleeps!
Anyway, the others need baths, so I'm off (like a bucket of prawns in the hot sun!)![]()
Hehehe, I didn't mean to worry you Mel!!!! Seven drifted off about 5ish after a little feed, she won't take a dummy, but I can hear her stirring now and its just after 6. This is ok, I can manage to do a few things in the time she naps.
She went 3hrs between feeds overnight last night, and I have noticed that she does go longer at night between feeds, which is fine by me!!!! Means I get a longer sleep period in between. I usually fall asleep feeding her at night anyway, because we sleep together, when she wakes, I just move her closer, make sure she's attached and we both drift off back to sleep! Its lovely!
I figure she is almost 6 weeks old, so she is going to start wanting more stimulation during the day. Am buying a play mat this week! She seems to like the singing toys and Mummy's face the most though!!!
Best be off, DS is asking for dinner. That headache didn't eventuate into a migraine after all! Yippee!!!
Oh, anyone know where I can get awesome beautiful baby clothes from? Need something for Seven to wear to our wedding in November. Have found a couple of things from Baby Beau and Belle but they are so dear!!!!!!
Quick question - is anyone else's baby drooling? Eli's been doing it a lot today and has been really unsettled for the first time, was awake from 7am - 2pm with only 5 min naps then he'd wake up crying. Can't be teething yet, can it??!!
Allegra has been drooling a bit I thought about teeth.
sorry this is going to be a me post Allegra has been so unsettled we've practicaly gone back to demand feeding. I feel i'm not keeping up with her demands and i'm on the verge of running to the shops to get formula but I really don't want to she's been awake since 1pm had about 5 min sleeps then up again
I hope you're all well
p.s looking forward to catching up with you tomorrow squidipa
Hey everyone,
I've been busy reading posts but hadn't realised I hadn't posted! So now I can't remember what and who I was going to respond to.
Thanks everyone for all your reassurances that I am not doing the wrong thing by giving Jett a bottle of EBM every day. I didn't think I was which still makes me puzzled at why some people are horrified at the prospect. I did know about the nipple confusion but Jett has never had a problem going from boob to bottle to dummy and back again otherwise I would have reconsidered the daily bottle (and the dummy for that matter).
To those that seem to be having unsettled babies at the moment that are only doing the catnap thing, I read somewhere (can't remember where) that around 6 weeks of age babies tend to go through a funny stage where they cry alot and are unsettled and it is due to them suddenly realising that they aren't getting back inside, and this is it - life from now on! So hopefully that is what our bubs are going through at the moment and the important thing to remember is that as long as you are providing, food, warmth and love you can't go wrong. This phase will pass and in a few months time you probably won't even remember it existed! Sometimes babies just need to cry to let out their emotions and frustrations in the best way they know how.for all!
Ok, I'm off to express and go to bed. Jett has had an unsettled day too. Would only sleep if I was holding him, which meant I got nothing else done!
Last nights posting that i was unable to post do to forum upgrade.
kelIts so tiresome I know but keep to it just pace ya self day by day. I know you can do it!!
Thats how josh was but he seems to be more settled during last 3 days he wakes we put dummie in to see if its just comfort and he goes back to sleep. He is asleep now in the swing in kitchen pretty much next me.
I did 7 hours of cooking with the kids have frozen just about most of it for kids recess.
i put two loads on today, made a white chocolate cheese cake for desert tomorrow. 2 batches of scones. My mixer craped it's self had to whisk cream by hand grrrrr. @ savory batch's of scones and date and orange scones and a scroll. I also put together a book case. thats about it not much of anything else gotta remember to turn hot water on i need to wash my hair
made choc chip cookies with son and man oh man it made like 100 serious!!!!!
it was so cheap to
500 grams butter
5 sifted cups self raising
1 cups sugar
1 tin of sweetened condensed milk
cream butter and sugar add flour and condensed milk we added dark chocolate too now and spooned it out rolled in ball and forked it flat and baked till golden yummo
Tomorrows my day off cooking!!!
Looking forward to catching up with you again kelactually the kids are looking forward to seeing you too. My first visitor in 2 years besides the ex husband and random sales ppl.
THIS MORNING
Kitty's World record 8 WEEKS BREAST FEEDING!!!!!!!
!!!!
YAYthe 3 year old couldn't find something else food related to get into. He did take off with my drivers license tho as my purse was on desk, stole a game out of DD's room and a disco ball but hey thats nothing "oh yeah, yea yea yea yea
I had one lumpy engorged boob last night but did a double feed n it and all seems good its nice to have a feeling of fullness dont know why all the change but yay!!!
yeah i had thefunny 6 week period and its now settling. It was driving me Bonkers
hey everyone im really exited for some reason to do another weigh in i am so hoping on another 160 gram gain
GRRR my tickers out i may have to sort that out but i know its 8 weeks
LOL I must be more sleep deprived that I thought, because I found that INCREDIBLY funny! Almost woke her up fro laughing hahahah!suddenly realising that they aren't getting back inside, and this is it - life from now on!
Jazz is having a crying dribbling stage, I also thought teeth (which horrified me as she's also going through a bite mummies boob stage, and adding teeth just scares the h3ll out of me!!!). She gets a bit funny at the end of the day, and I keep thinking I run out of milk (thats one of the reasons we started giving her a bottle of EBM). I have a tin of formula in the cupboard that I bought at about 37 weeks pregnant, I freaked out that what if I couldn't breastfeed her one night and it was 1am, I didn't want to have her starve or scream so I bought it (in the hopes of never using it). She wants the boob every hour from about 5pm, and there have been a few nights where I have wanted to open that tin. All the LCs I've talked to say "no, you never run out of milk at the end of the day its just a bubs unsettled period" but honestly I think I do as my boob never seems to be able to satisfy her at night.
Did my nappy washing today, thought it was going to be a good day, but had to use the inside line as some menacing clouds floated over while the washing machine was going. My parents keep saying we should get a dryer, and days like this I agree, but because my parents suggested it Shel won't get oneShe is so bl00dy stubborn sometimes, says we can do without we just have to be organised and keep on top of the washing (because my parents are the type to let it build up and have no choice as to when they do washing so they kind of really need a dryer). She just doesn't want to be like m parents AT ALL. Well, we CAN do without really, but it'd be so handy because we have terry prefolds which are thick in the middle and they hardly dry in weather like this, even being on the line ALL DAY. Well, I'll just keep whinging until we get one
I mean, really, having a dryer doesn't make us like my parents, it just makes life a while lot easier not having to worry about washing every day.
Mel, yes I get frustrated at partners who don't pull their weight. Shel has got the notion of she works outside the home, my work is inside the home, so when she comes home she doesn't have to do anything. Ok, she does stuff, but I know she has to hold her tongue not to say "but I was at work all day" (she might be thinking it, but shes WAAAAAAAAAAAAY to smart to actually say it). Thats the way her parents, and her sister, are. So it's gonna take time I guess to kick the 'provider' and 'housewife' idea out of her head.
Either that or I just wait until I go back to work, and do the same thing to her. Don't think I could though, I'd feel too bad (I feel bad enough asking her to help when she is home... but not quite bad enough to NOT ask lol...).
Oh that reminds me, gotta get meat out for dinner. Or I could just conveniantly forget and have takeawayHmmmm... nah, gotta stick to the diet! 10kg to lose, wanna be back to 55kg (BMI 22) by new year.
Morning lovelies!!
We had a great night here last night, DD slept from 11 til 5am and the Bear got up to give her the first bottle!!!! I feel so fresh it's just great. Already up and showered and having breakfast.
Congrats on the eight weeks BF'ing squiddy - keep up the good work!
Leash if that's her argument why wasn't she helping you when she was off work supposedly to help you? I'm sorry but just reading about her makes me mad! Mel - I'm with you!Shel has got the notion of she works outside the home, my work is inside the home, so when she comes home she doesn't have to do anything.
And Mel - yay for DD sleeping all day! makes a nice change for you I'm sure...
Well my baby has finally woken up so I'd better run.... bigto MT, MM, kel rach, sash and everyone!
Squidipa - congrats on the 8 weeks honey - well done - woohoo!!!!! I'm sure I'll get my butt in gear and meet up with you soon, no need to be scared.. hehe
Leash - seriously - is that her thinking??? Ummmm... being at home with a baby is working!!!!! I think I would KILL craig if he came home saying that kind of *****... I usually make him sit down and take a rest, because otherwise he is in the kitchen with me saying "ok, what can i do to help you".... Want me to send him around to teach her a few things?LOL Oh and i soooo get you on the weather!! We have that same cloud above us at the moment - and I refuse to dry my nappies in the dryer (takes sooo long) so I have them in front of the door at the moment enjoying that nice wind!!! That'll do the trick
I must need to buy more nappies cos i've run out - again - for her!!!
Pixie - yayyy for good nights sleep. Wasn't sooo good here - but won't go into it, its too depressing.. LOL
MT - yup I agree with that 6 week thing - DD just went through it (must be a late bloomer or sumpthin..)
kiwigirl - One of DH's friends was BORN with teeth - he was like a 14 pound baby or something.. (makes ya wanna cross ya legs and wince huh...)
not much going on here. DS is at day care. I've cleaned the toilet, hand basin and scrubbed the shower, washed up, done the bottles, now about to get back into it - its my only day to clean this week - meeting up with some cloth BB mums tomorrow - Squidipa, Kel and Leash - you guys are welcome to come too ?? Its at redcliffe - Leash i can give you a lift if you want?
Oooh and on the diet front (4 days in and going well) - 2kg loss so far... I freakin love my diet... its the best.. (strict yes.. but the weight just drops off ya!!!)
Cheers to all!!!!
Good Morning Everyone!
I hope you all got a refreshing nights sleep!
Quick one today - got a busy one, meeting some friends for lunch, joining a gym, going to the library, shopping.... the list goes on!
YAY SQUIDIPAcongratulations - I hope you are feeling very proud of yourself!
Must be the day for washing! My nappies are hanging on the airer outside, but unlike you poor QLD girls, it is bright and sunny here today!
Jett is being a bit of a fusspot this morning, not sure why, although I woke up this morning and my boobs were still soft which is very unusual for me. I've fed him 3 times this morning and he seems happy enough, but I just hope my plentiful supply hasn't just decided to stop!! I was reading in Baby Love this morning that around 6-8 weeks your boobs do change shape, get softer and don't have that full feeling anymore as the milk supply settles down. Maybe that is what is happening here?
Ok, better run and get ready so I can get to lunch on time! So bigto everyone!
Mwah!
hehehe MUST be the day for it!! I have 2 loads of washing on the line, in the sun - at 7am it looked doubtful as to whether the sun would actually shine or not, but I hung it out anyway and the sun came to the party!!
Veygas is being really antsy today - I am trying to get him to have a sleep (he'll only go for 5-10mins at a time) and he is just being generally whingey ... not screaming the house down (TFFT!!) but just whinging here and there and I have tried to settle him 3 times already ... but now it's gonna be time for him to feed again soon (although he's been doing that every hour this morning!)
so I haven't really got much else done. For some reason, I am really tired and irritable today too, it's like it's left over from yesterday (when I snapped at DP that I wish he didn't come home to sleep!
)
Got DD home from preschool today too, she woke up with a barking cough (as did DS2, but he doesn't need to be anywhere!)
YAY for hitting 8 weeks squidipa!!!
Leash - from what I am reading, it's OK (in Shel's book) to be like HER family, but not like yours! Hello, this is the 21st century, we all have to work that little bit harder to make things work (not like it's the 1950's!! LOL!)
Has anyone else noticed how it's a lot harder for the "grandparents" of today to retire? I remember when I was a kid, my grandparents were always home (I think my grandfather retired at like 50, and my nanna never worked outside the house!) My DS1 got really upset last week, cause they had a "grandfriends day" and he reckons he was the only one who didn't have anyone there ... but both mine and DP's parents still work, and couldn't just take the day off, plus they both live 2+ hours away ... (I couldn't handle them living any closer anyway!)
DP has been looking around our area at the cost of buying a house (we are currently renting),and I have been comparing that with Stanthorpe! hehehehe He has now conceded that Stanthorpe is looking like a winner!!! YAY!!!! And being a truckie, he can get work just about anywhere!!
Ok, my whinge - my IL's don't (or won't) believe anything we say ... we have a deaf cat (he's white with beautiful blue eyes) and we have told them HEAPS that he is deaf! The other day, MIL says "is it true that when a cat has blue eyes that it's deaf?" A friend had told her, and now she chooses to believe it (after our THREE YEARS of telling her!) And they want to move from where they are - they said one or 2 bedrooms. When we looked at various properties on the internet and found some cheap 3 bedroom places, they said "we don't want 3, what will we do with the 3rd room?" Um, put bunks in there so the kids might be able to stay over???? hmmmmmm now there's an idea! But no, they are even more determined to go a one bedder now! Oh well, no kiddies staying over for them!! hhehehe ... whinge complete!
Is anyone else noticing weird things (incomplete page loads etc) on BB today?
PMSL Just quickly, does anyone elses bub make grunting noises while feeding!?!?!? Along with her biting, sometimes I think I've got a little animal attached to my boob!!!!!
Mel, can't make tomorrownot sure you'd be able to give me a lift anyways, with all our bubs! But you'll be happy to know I have booked more driving lessons and am kicking myself into gear. I've spent too long putting it off, gotta get it done already!
MM... never thought of it like that!
Gotta go get some lunch ready, Jazz is only going to be happy on her playmat for so long!
Ahhh but I would be able to fit us all in. DS would be at daycare so I'd take his seat out, and we'd have the two babies in the back and us in the front... see... no need for anyone to sit in the boot just yet
hehe
MM - my mum is the only parent still working - my MIL hasn't worked since she had the kids - yes so thats like 38 years ago!! LOL.. except for some seasons of picking strawberries of course - and my FIL has severe arthritis so hasn't worked for about 10 years (which drives him nuts being in pain and bored *****less all day) and my dad retired from the police force a few years ago - but is in Tassie - so hasn't met any of my kids yet!!! (Probably never will.. don't exactly have the best relationship!!)
Having a GREAT day today - just got her down for another nap (she slept 4 hours just before she woke up for a feed) and i mopped the floors so they are sparkling!!!!
Hmmm.. what to do next... bottles... cat litter.. or organise DH's side of the wardrobe.. decisions, decisions...
