I am thinking of investing in some scales myself so I can weigh him here at home naked and get a true indicator of his weight..
hey congrats on the weight you must feel GREAT! i know where ya can get them for 70 plus 10 post if your interested?? let us know

Squidipa - YAY!!!!!! I'm so glad Josh's hearing test went well!! Maybe the screaming & drooling are an indication of teething??? (hope not for your sake though!! )
well thats what i was thinking i dunnno.
Have had a shocking week here with Seven and screaming before finally going to sleep.
sorry to hear your having trouble me to here so i sooo sympathize with the screaming. Today i had to just say to hubbie YOU take him and i stormed off to my room slammed the door and cried. The screaming and the restlessness on the boob is so so so so frustrating for me. I feel so exhausted already and feel like i battle as it is. Not sure how much longer ill be doing this BF for its getting to frustrating. the midwife reconds reflux thats why he has been bursting out in screams. I have never had a child with reflux so have no idea it's taking its toll on me. She said go ask dr on friday, I just wanna fix him but i cant i cant even seem to get the BF right at the moment well ever!

P.S. WOOHOO I'm going to the Billy Joel concert in December!!!!!
Oh you lucky duck good on ya!

I won't need it till the next little one makes an appearance...
so your planning on more too hey when is this all planned to happen Thanks for the offer ill probably not take you up on it But thanks all the same u really are such a kind hearted person!

Now to me i feel so depleted right now.
I tried to hold back tears on my walk home from hospitals weigh in we have this almost pathetically small goal 150 grams a week and i cant even meet it. Bursting into tears when i got home regarding the pitiful result. Every week it seems to make me more and more down. Im bloody ticked but to exhausted to be angry. I dunno what to do he only gained 110 grams yes it's a gain but NOT ENOUGH the pead has a big warning light on him the MW and the drs what the earth am i ment to do i am so trying here.

Why cant i just get it right i asked the MW is it my nipple shape do i need shields?? she said it doesn't make a diff as long as your getting that bottom breast tissue in i told her i am finding it very frustrating to.

Not to mention after all of that she says his heart murmur could infact be the reason for little nappys due to poor weight gain. Here i am think yay nappies and she is like nope not good enough well not in those words. I mean i am sure he is weeing more than once maybe in a nappy how can i garentee this i cant but come on.

I feel really disappointed and lost on this!

Hi everyone just a quick question, what is your bubs average weight gains since birth, the totaly weight gained divided by the No. Weeks. Looking at the whole picutre I guess.

Nakita's average is 118grams a week (which is up from the 105grams average she was before the FF top ups), so looks like the FF top ups are staying until I can make more milk. Though with her big gains the last two weeks and if this continues then we will going up pretty quickly I think.

We are on 2 hourly feeds today! Exhausting as each feed takes 50min - 1hour, both boobs and a bottle then change bum and settle, one sleep cycle and back to it!! Not much work getting done at all!

Yay Sasha!!! That is great, you are doing a wonderful job as a mummy!!

Are you having a weigh-in today as well Squidipa?

    Is it your birthday CM4E

    Woot for BJ Leasha

I am thinking Milky waterfalls at the moment..

Sorry hi to everyone else I have to run Little Miss is hungry...again...

Squidipa, I hope you can work out whats happening.

Shell, babies galore sell baby scales too. bit expensive ($100) though...

Vic, Jazz has gained average of 223g a week, and she is sitting on the 95th% I think. I'm also interested in length too, Jazz is 60cm so has grown about 1cm a week! What about everyone else?

Squidipa - I'm sorry you are feeling so crappy at the moment.. I wish there was something that I could do to make you feel better about the WONDERFUL job you are doing at feeding your child. You are doing a GREAT job, don't think that you are not, the goals put in place may not be the ones Josh needs to meet - JOSH is meeting HIS own goals, not goals set by other people. You are doing the very best job EVER - please don't feel like you are not doing all you can - because surely you know in your heart that you are doing everything - beyond and above the call of mothering. I think anything above 100g is GREAT btw...

Leash - yeah DD grows about the same rate i think - was 62cm at last measurement (roundabouts, they actually said 64 but I don't agree) so that was up from 54cm at birth - so bout a cm a week I suppose

Average weight gain - bout 130g a week.

Oh leash - did you want me to pop in tomorrow? I have an appointment with the homeopathy clinic tomorrow morning for DD - and then a chiro appointment just after lunch in caloundra - so I could pop in sometime in the lateish morning? lemme know. i won't have Aricyn, just Miss M.

    hi everyone,
thank you for your support we had a better day today still a velcro babybut I don't mind now because when she gets older she wont want to give mum cuddles all the time. In the end all that matters is that Allegra is being fed and is putting on weight.

Squidipa- I forgot to say congrats about Josh's hearing test thats fantastic

Mel- I agree they told me that babies can sleep better once having treatment. you have to think how much trauma their little bodies get during labour

Squidipa - you are doing a FANTASTIC JOB sweetie!!! I have a habit of not listening to the midwives, drs, ECH nurses, they can all stick it as far as I'm concerned (esp. since most of them around here don't have kids!! LOL!) But you, my sweet, are doing GREAT!! Remember all bubs are different

Vic - Veygas has put on roughly 250g per week and grown just under 1cm a week.

Hey Mel & Leash - I'm feeling a bit left out, living here in the middle of NSW nowhere!! JK!! mwah!

Sasha - woohoo for the weight gain - I know you didn't want another big one!! (I know it's a bit disturbing when they pile on the weight!)

Veygas was really unsettled tonight - he's had a bit of a rattly chest, so now he has some medicine to help clear it and it makes him a bit drowsy too, but better than having trouble breathing and feeding .... so I'm a bit exhausted tonight, hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

    'Night all!

I havn't done Nakita's length since she was 12 weeks old, but then she was 56cm, she was 45.5 at birth so up 9.5cm in 12 weeks 1 day.

Squidipa big hugs to you hun, it took me ages to write my post and as soon as I had it posted did get a chance to read anymore and realised that you posted before me! 100grams, that is a good gain, I know it isn't brilliant and it isn't what you wanted, and I know what a struggle it can all be. I hope your appointments go well on Friday.

MM - I hope Vegas is feeling bright and bubbly very soon! I was chatting to DH about getting a swing today and he mentioned it at work and one of the ladies there, has daughter has one we may be able to borrow - would be lovely if we could!

Have fun catching up Leasha and Mel!!!

Quite a mix in the weight gaining department - anyone else?

Kel!! Enjoy the extra cuddles now, I havn't thought of Velcro days like that, will have to!!

A few updates on my day...

The brickwork is about to start on the house, windows are in
I went back to the gym tonight, I am just going to get going slowly, then get back into training properly within the next month or so.
I was going to try and reduce N's topups, but no chance, 7 sleeps to go to my app
I finally got the last of the accessories for my pram -

Okay I can't write more, my laptop is on battery as I left the adapter at work and when I got this new one I didn't get a spare! Also i need to go to bed and get some sleep!!

I jsut wanted to say, squidipa, I was laying in bed last night thinking about Jazz's growth and I got a horrible feeling that I was really insensitive when I wrote my post I didn't even write anything positive, but I wanted to say that if Josh is happy and alert and gaining then I think you are doing a great job as mummy There are drs, midwives, paeds, MCHNs etc who think that all ababies need to gain weight at the same speed, and it just isn't true. There are different shaped adults, adults who have fast and slow metabolisms, adults who are more active than some, so surely its stands to reason that babies will all be different shapes and sizes and grow at different rates. As long as he is in fact growing, and as long as he is happy, that should be the main thing. I know they want to put the flashing red lights and sirens on Josh, but at least he's growing, you know. At least he's gaining, at least he's growing. You are doing an absolutely woderful job hun.

And my final word is... f-ck normal. The professionals say "they should be doing this, this is normal" PFFFFFT, what is normal anyway? There is such a range in this babies group alone, bubs who have gained heaps, bubs who haven't gained much, and developmentally I think our bubs are all on different pages with what they are doing and learning...

You're doing a great job! You are a wonderful mummy!

yeah leasha - totally agree with what you wrote 100% lol hey i could get worried with 400g a week but he's just a bigger than average baby... besides some babies have to be on the 3% line and some on the 95% line. *hugs squidipa*

:yeahthat:I agree 100% as well!! I think that all the variations in gains that everyone has posted shows just how different all our bubs are, they aren't growing at the same rate, they are being fed differently, they are all just different.
