Lea: i hope you had a fantastic birthday!! ive been having issues with my teeth too...thank god for insurance, its not something we budgeted for at christmas time, i had 2 off my wisdom teeth out last year and oh my it was such a relif. how is Gabriella ? i hope she is on the mend...it must be so horrible having a sick baby. Nathan hated daycare when we went for a look he screamed and screamed so i endend up putting him in family daycare while i worked when he was about two and he loved that .

    Hi all,

I am around, just really busy. I have been keeping up with reading posts, but just no time to respond much. My MIL is here from Qld since, until Sunday, so just entertaining her and also lots of Christmas stuff going on. It was an unexpected visit, cause her aunty passed away so she came for the funeral (don't get me started on this...none of his family have visited in 10yrs we've been together, she couldn't even come to visit for her 2 grandchildren's births, but for the funeral of a distant old aunty...who was 80!!! Grrrr!). She's staying at my mums house, LOL!
Anyway....we are well, still plodding along, Lily has another cold, I'm trying to keep Liam well, though I don't really like my chances, Lily is all over him most of the time! She loves her Li Li. No sleep in this house still, I am so tired! I just had a half hour nanna nap with Liam and the kids are still in bed, though Lily is coughing like no tomorrow, so I don't think it will be peaceful for long....so I should go and make dinner.
I hope everyone is well and has a great weekend!

hi all thanks for the advice on child care , i think i will reasses in the new year , both DH and i are getting excited about taking the kids to swimming lessons !!
Gabriella is getting over her chest infection.. but is still so fleghmy , she sleeps thorough every night but latley has been waking in a coughing fit !!

well , after chatting with my friend who has a baby girl 1 day older than Gab , her baby is over 6kgs and i had no idea what gab was . i felt bad that i havent been taking her to a chn but i dont think its necessary most times .. Gab feeds well and is happy and developing so i thougt THOUGHT she was fine ..

turns out she is still about 5.7 and apparently "below average" for her weight and weight gain .. i had a moment of panic ( but im over it now ) and i dont quite know what "below average" means for her health.. but it was scary the nurse just stared at me when she told me that .. what do i do .. i havent looked in to it or ask other q's as part of me thinks/knows shes perfectly fine , but the other half is too worried to find out ...

    eeek ....

anyway .. she is soo unbelivley chatty and smiley ... sometimes she never shuts up and is soo talkative i get annoyed ( because im trying to nap .. she is such a noise machine )

    Hi girls,

Lea, I want to take Lily to swimming too, I will have to book some in the new yr. I don't know how she will go though cause she hasn't been swimming in a big pool before, because of her ear problems. But we got the all clear from the specialist a few weeks ago so I will take her now!
Glad to hear Gabriella is on the mend, poor little mite. Its so horrible when they're sick.
I wouldn't worry about her weight either. If she is happy, sleeping, pooing and weeing normally, then she is healthy, if you had no suspicions that she might have been 'underweight' before getting her weighed, then dont worry. I don't know why weight is such a big deal really. Some people are always going to bigger and smaller than average, that includes babies, it's normal!!

Well, we are all sick again...Lily is sooo generous with her germs! I have had a nanna nap with Liam this arvo cause I felt so crappy. AF is back already and today was my first day and I was just feeling soo off, and with a cold, yuck!! I still feel like I could go to bed soon too, so thats probably good, I wont be in bed at midnight, only to wake with Lil at the crack of dawn for the day tomorrow, not to mention that I'll undoubtedly be up a thousand times otherwise!
We had DH's work picnic today. It was pretty nice, a beautiful day. Though Liam got a bit sunburnt. I didn't put sunscreen on him, thinking he's too little for it (do any of you use kids sunscreen on your bubs? Lil was really sensitive to it at this age so I couldn't use it on her. I haven't tried on Liam thinking he'd be the same) and that we'd just sit in the shade. Which we did mostly, but I guess the few times he was out in the sun was enough for his delicate white white skin! Poor little monkey's head is burnt. His hair looks like a halo when he's in the light cause his head is so red, LOL! Lily had a ball and ran daddy ragged! She's sooo full on. My girlfriend said she didn't realise she was so bad until now. It was nice to be acknowledged and to have people know how much of a handful she is for me especially DH! It's so hard to run after her with Liam too now. I tell people she's 'energetic', 'busy' and 'inquisitive' (read non stop, into everything monster!!) and they're like 'oh yeah so is....' or 'Oh well she is at that age' they just don't understand!!
Anyway, I'm off, might go to bed....

Lea Try not to worry about weight gain, she sounds so happy & healthy.... there has to be light babies & heavy babies. I think Tobias is a light baby too. I weighed him the other day on our scales (placed him in a cocoon with a hard base & took into consideration the weight of the cocoon) & it looked like he's only 6kg, I know its not precise but I will get him weighed soon at the ECH centre.
Swimming lessons, how exciting! Briannas starting to swim alot better now, I recently changed her swim school to a school that doesn't use floatation devices so she can learn to swim properly, I wish I had've done it when she was younger, then she'd be swimming properly by now! Oh well. I've also booked Tobias in for next term... yay!

Kellie Sorry to hear you're all sick again! argh! About the sunburn... Tobias got a little sunburnt at the BB BBQ last weekend, I put baby sunscreen on him but didnt put it close to his eyes or through his hair LOL The sun cam in through the back of the pram & got his head & under his eyes... poor little guy! It wasn't as bad as my sunburn (I didnt put sunscreen on myself Do'h) but you feel terrible seeing your child burnt So I totally understand!
Oh & Lily being such a handful... Brianna is the same!! Has been since day 1! I'm the same as you with when I tell people they're like "Oh yeah, they're busy at that age" etc but when they're around her they comment about her not stopping & always talking/running/doing things. She used to have the nickname "the ever-ready baby" like the ever-ready bunny (ad for batteries). At least with Brianna as she's gotten older it's got alot easier because she can entertain herself. She has quite a few pretend friends who keep her very busy (she also fights with them a bit too & comes & "dobs" on them to me) but nowadays she will also stop & watch a movie as she's at the age where she's actually interested in kids movies... she wont sit for the whole movie but it gives me a good break IYKWIM.
I hope Lily starts to slow down a bit soon for you hun.

Tasha Woohoo on trying for baby #3!! I saw you post in another thread about it too I'd love to have another baby one day, not in the position to do so atm though I've also decided I'd like at least a 3 yr age gap now as I love the age gap between DD & DS, originally wanted all my kids close in age... funny how things change!!
Good luck, I hope you dont have to TTC for long

    Hi everyone else

Me Sorry I haven't been posting... I do read your posts & stay up to date. been busy here, put a new front door in & finishing the enterance & foyer in our house so it looks so much nicer!! Thats been keeping me quite busy. Also re-arranging some rooms, have finally set up our office out of Tobias' bedroom, getting rid of a spare lounge suite we have so we can set up a dining area as we now have a pool table where our dining suite used to be LOL (DH has always wanted one & was able to get a brand new 7' table for a really cheap price at an auction) So I've been so busy trying to get my house organised!
Will post pics when (if!) I finish LOL

As I said in Leas reply, I have booked Tobias in for swimming lessons in the new year, no floatation devices so he should learn to swim nice & early. DD is only just learning now as her previous schools have all had her using floaties on the arms or back bubbles so this year she had to practically start from scratch even though she's been "learning" since 6 months old!! So frustrating thinking of the waste of money since she really only learnt ho to blow bubbles under water... something I easily could have taught her myself!

Well, incase I dont post again for a while...

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

I hope you all have a beautiful Christmas with your families

    xxx
