MegsMum - So frustrating about your car. It always happens at the wrong time, although I'm not sure there is ever a right time You know the airfares were awesomely cheap but rediculously expensive.

Misty - How did the Christmas Party go? Hope your spacebar returns soon. You did well to post earlier! Goodluck with needles.

Cheezel Monster - I think half the fun is wrapping and unwrapping although finding time is a bit hard of late. How quickly we forget how small they are hey. A friend here has just returned with her baby who is 2.5kg the same as DD was born and I didn't want to hold her cos she was too small YAAAY for weight gain

Willow Wow for the teeth, great that there wasn't too much grizzling. I'm planning on getting a bumbo for DD so I hope that she likes it as I have no one to borrow one from first.

Saffi - Woohoo on the checkup weigh/measure. I've been buying toys for DD only because she didn't have any and I even decided to give her one last week and she loves it.

Trish - Hope you're all feeling better soon. So hard when little ones are sick especially when you are too. Want to take her to osteo or chiro but it is so hard living here.

mad4e - sorry no lip biting here.

startchild - No AF yet but think it's not far off. A few in my mums group have got it back already.

AFU: The physio called today and said if we could be there in 5mins she would see DD. We made it Good news is she isn't worried about torticollis but thinks helmet treatment is what DD needs so we'll see the Paed on Thursday. I have been fine with the idea until today when I got a bit upset while googling images of bubs with helmets. But I know that it is best to do this now when she will have no memory of people staring.

The teething necklace has worked amazing, seriously I can't believe it. I thought it was a bit wishy washy but I have my happy girl back. No tanties. She is constantly gnawing on her fists, dribbling and has had green frothy explosive poos. Some other mums have told me these are common while teething. She's not unwell so I'm not concerned.

Enjoy your week, MIss Z and I are off on the plane tomorrow and return Friday night. Yaaay some civilisation, shops, food and I can get a santa photo!!!!

    Yay new thread!

Ellee - Bummer about the helmet but at least she'll have no memory of it and its best to sort these things out while they are still little. My DD1 was in a harness for her hips and while it was not fun, I'm glad it was when she was only a little thing KWIM? Good luck with the paed visit.

misty - LOL at your space bar! Hope all goes well with the needles.

Cheezel - You know your DS will have more fun with the wrapping paper than he will with the toys LOL but it is fun getting it all ready for them isn't it?

Willow - Yay for your little man and his teeth! I think we are not too far off now either E had my finger in her mouth last night and I could feel the 2 bottom ones there and there is 2 little lumps when you look as well.

Saffi - Its hard to decide what to buy for a bub when you already have a little one isn't it? We have wall to wall toys in this house from DD1 and I don't really want to buy heaps more and have to fit them in, but on the other hand I don't want E to only have scungy toys either! So we've just got a few little things for E that hopefully she will like to play with, and rellies will buy her heaps too Glad your checkup went well!

Trish - Sorry to hear you are all sick hope you're better soon. Yeah its awful having to wake them to do the school pickup isn't it? Don't like it either, but today is our last day for the year!

mad4e - No lip biting here either

star child - No AF here yet, I didn't get it back with DD1 until she was 14 months old either, but we also had troubles conceiving after that so it probably doesn't help you a lot LOL

Hi to anyone I've missed with the thread changeover and thanks tk for the list

AFU, going good this week. Got the car back yay and probably going to sell it early next year - damn my and DH's honesty, we agreed we couldn't sell it without fixing it I weighed E finally on the weekend and she is 6.1kg - has put on nearly 600g this month the little guts LOL And we are off for our next lot of needles next Mon, poor little thing she hated the last lot so won't be much fun. But doing well otherwise, still having the occasional spew but hopefully that will stop sometime soon.

    Hiya guys,
Lost track of the old thread and have been MIA trying to deal with some nasty nappy rash
We'd just solved the night nappy chaffing problem (BBH bamboo rocks!) when a nappy left on way too long during a mega-nap on a hot day wreaked havoc with Orla's bottom Just coming right now....
Ellee (or anyone in the know) what's the deal with the amber necklace? How's it supposed to work and does it matter what type of amber (I have a bracelet of amber pieces already)???

Hello everyone. I have kinda got the spacebar working again (it's being temprmental). DS1 pulled all the keys off the keyboard on my laptop, some of them were fixable, some cannot be be fixed. I am going to have to dig out another keyboard to plug into the laptop to use. Until then my posts will likely be brief.

The kids loved the chrissy party - there was a pool and a jumping castle and alot of junk food and about 20-30kids (all young and all cousins or 2nd cousins). DH had fun too. I think I must be turning into one of those grumpy sour women, because there was no reason I shouldn't have had fun too, But I just wanted to go home and relax by myself - maybe read a book. It was a really good party, not drama's, good company, no stress and I just wanted to be a hermit....sad really. I used to be so social.

Christmas carols with the kids tonight, and vaccinations in the morning. and then family dinners and neighbourhood christmas parties and night out for DH and myself, busy busy busy, until after christmas.

Have finally gotten around to organising Baz's baptism - will be at the end of february.

Starchild - nope no AF here yet.

Mad4e - Yep sounds like they're doing the same thing!! DS has started teething (I can feel one now!!) so maybe that is why.

I'm sorry but must go!! It's 39 degrees here today & DS is VERY unsettled

quiet in here. I hope you are all busy doing fun christmas things.

DH and I are going to the movies tonight. Which means mum is going to babysitt all of my kids. I am a little nervy over leaving Baz. He is such an easy happy baby, but I am a little worried because he won't take a bottle - at least not for me or DH. But it is only 3hrs, and I will give him a good feed before I leave. Plus I will leave some expressed milk (do you think 120mls is enough? Or should I express more? I wasn't sure) and some babyjuice and a sachet of formula (if mum gets really desperate - but I know he HATES the formula) and she can put some fruit in his teething bag. Hopefully that will do.

I have never left any of my other babies so young. Angelica was refluxy and unsettled and couldn't be left with anyone else until about a year old. Nathaniel was reasonably happy but would not take milk at all, unless from a boob, so mum only babysat him for short periods until he was 14mths and weaned himself from the boob.

I am sure it wil all be fine and I am worried about nothing. He probably won't even want a feed when he's there.

misty - if you're concerned I'd express a little more. I'm sure he'll be fine,if not I'm sure your mum will call. Relax and enjoy your well deserved night out! Sounds like you have been really busy.

Not much happening here. M is growing so much. My SIL had a baby boy yesterday, Levi. There's only 4 months between my bub and hers so they'll grow up together.

Christmas preps well underway. Only having a quiet lunch at home with ILs and a couple and their kids, so it should be nice.

    Hope everyone is well.

Misty - that's wonderful that you're getting to go out with your DH tonight, sooo jealous!! DS can't even handle being left with my DH let alone anyone else As for the EBM, I'd say 120ml would be enough if he needed a feed while you're gone. I've only given a bottle a few times & he's never taken anymore than 80ml. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to leave a little extra JIC.

Saffi - how nice your DD will have a little playmate to grow up with!! My sister had a baby 8 weeks after DS was born so they'll be nice & close too.

Really looking forward to xmas day!! We're doing my family this weekend & DH's family next weekend. So on the actual day it's just going to be our little family, nice & relaxing with just some party food DH has to work night shift which is one of the reasons I wanted to keep it quiet & simple.
DS is teething soooo bad!! I feel so sorry for him, hope a tooth comes up soon to put him out of his misery!! He keeps waking up sobbing

Hope you're all having a good week!!

Heya - was going to apologise for being MIA but seems everyone is caught up in xmas preparations - very quiet in here!
Well I'm going to have a moan about being sick as the proverbial dog
Had viral gastro since friday - abdominal cramps and vomiting so bad I had to go to emergency for fluids and anti-cramping drugs. Might take up to 10 days to recover fully! I feel fine in the mornings then it starts up again in the arvo. I'm a walking skeleton with big boobs I do not recommend this as a form of post-baby weight loss!
DP has been such a gem looking after me and Orla - has redeemed himself for being a 'party-boy' the last few weeks
Thankfully xmas shopping was all finished (just waiting for one more item in the post - hope it makes it in time!) and we only have to bring desert to xmas lunch.
Anyway, I hope everyone else is feeling tip-top, in the holiday spirit and ready to enjoy their little one's first xmas...

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

    Hi everyone

How did everyone survive Christmas? Ours was very busy. The morning was great watching DS go from one present to the next. The house is totally covered with toys from one end to the other. We had lunch here with the ILs and friends and had a 6yo, 2yo, 1yo and a 4month old attending. DS didn't sleep all day and has only just come down from the sugar high! Glad its over.

Went out by myself to the sales while DH minded the kids. He then went to a movie in the afternoon which was fair. DH is home this week so we are doing some outings and doing things are around the house.

M is doing really well. She is blowing raspberries and squealing all the time. Still no teeth but she is drooling a lot. She has regressed a bit with her sleeping the last few nights. Even dreamfeeds aren't helping.

Hope everyone is having a good time.

    Hello....... anyone out there????

No plans for NYE here. If I make it to midnight and I'm still awake I'll be very surprised. Mind you I might be awake having to feed M.

Here's hoping for a safe and prosperous 2010 and I hope all your dreams and resolutions come true.

Hi ladies, this will have to be a very quick post as Im supposed to be packing, we're moving on Monday and with a baby in the house I have to take full advantage of nap times!!!!

So, lochie enjoyed his first christmas, particularly eating the wrapping! He is 7kgs (just gone 4 months) so nice and healthy. The drool and bitting things is out of control, no teeth yet, doesnt bother him at all though, only me with the mountain of bibs we go through. He sleeps from 8pm-6am wakes briefly and sleeps again till 7:30, and im stoked with that! He's happy as larry, loves to squeal and is fantastic at grabbing things now and playing with toys, he can even put his own dummy in now..YAY!

Anyway, i hope to be back and post more soon...but for now, its off to pack! Arrrgggg!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hope your first Christmas with your bubbas was lovely. DH had to work Night Shift on Christmas Eve and Christmas night. But when he got home Christmas morning we had a nice breaky before DD woke and we opened presents and he went to bed for the day. Miss Z and I went to a friends for an Orphan Christmas which was lovely.

Our New Years Eve was a little similar as DH had to get up for work at 4am so we went to friends for a BBQ dinner and DH went home early but I saw the New Year in with a few drinks as my pump had arrived and I managed to get enough milk to be sure there was plenty if she woke for a few feeds. Was a nice feeling to be able to drink more if I wanted. Although I must say the Tired-over rather than hangover was not so good as DD was full of beans and all I wanted to do was have some rest for the day hahaa. A good reminder why it is okay not to drink as it would have been much worse if I'd indulged too much and was feeling hungover.

Well the visit to the Paed was non eventful which is both good and bad. He said that helmets are used quite a lot but he isn't a fan. We had a X-ray to ensure that the suture lines were still opened and we will continue with the repositioning for now. We have another check up in April.

So I have been thinking lots about the whole starting solids and have just now posted a thread about it. I can't believe DD is 5 months tomorrow. (oh TK - DD birthday is 3rd not the 1st if you could update your list when you get a chance ) What are you planning on doing? Starting with puree or doing Baby Led Solids? I know a lot can happen in a month but at the moment she doesn't seem overly interested in food. I've also been wondering if I need to hold off until 7 months given she was born prem.

ISSY - Lochie sounds like he is doing really well. You must feel great with his sleeping! DD has nights better than others but at moment she goes to bed about 7pm and wakes between 2-3pm and again at 5-6am, but this changes frequently lol. Hope you got your packing done, enjoy your holiday!

Mad4e - for DS sleeping through, hope he makes it a regular occurance for you.

Saffi - Has M's sleeping improved? DD is also drooling and squealing a lot. She blows the odd raspberry and when she does it's quite cute. So jealous you got to go to the sales. It was the first year for me of missing the boxing day sales since I was about 12!

Cheezel Monster - How awful that you were sick. Hope that you have had a better start to 2010.

Koru - sorry to hear you were sick also. for DH giving up the party boy status to look after you. If only they realised how happy these things made us hey

Misty - How lovely that you and DH could get out together. DD loves the bottle and seems to be taking 130-150ml EBM so I figure that is what I have to budget for.

MegsMum - Glad you got your car back. DH & I would be the same with fixing before selling. Frustrating that so many don't have a conscious and can do it but I'd just feel guilty. What sort of car are you looking at getting? I love car shopping

Big Hello to everyone else. Hope that your 2010 is treating you kind and look forward to seeing you all around here again when life settles down after the silly season.

Oh and does anyone else find it weird seeing the August Belly Buddies for 2010 ?? It kind of made me feel like trying for a second sooner than I thought hehee. On that any first time mummies thinking of a second? What gap? and and experienced mummies - what age gap do you recommend and why? I've been thinking 18months would be good originally we thought 2 years.
