    Hi girls,

Claire - Where do you live??? I have searched on other forums for mothers groups as there were'nt many mums in my area. Have you tried that?? Other wise there is a forum here for local members to meet up with one another. There are plenty of forums around like Belly Belly now. Just surf around hun. You'll find one sooner than later! Glad to hear that Cam and you are going well!

Kim - Thanks hun. Glad to hear that your dogs eye is healing! I will have to check out those piccies. I really have to send some of my girls around. I don't think i have sent anyone pics of Colby yet!

Alison - Your knee sounds really painful! OUCH! I hope your not in too much pain hun.

Hi to everyone else! Hope you are all well!

Well most of the cleaning is done. not looking forward to tomorrow tho coz it's been raining here and haven't been able to finish mowing the lawn coz wet grass can damage the mower. we pass the inspection!!!

Corr, we also started in the child health centre. our group has been together for 15 months with Sarah's lot. I'm joining another 1 on 24/11 with Em.

Physio says I should walk as much as possible. Makes my knee hurt at the end of the day tho. gotta keep doing it coz it's clicking less now.

We have a masquerade coming up for my aunty's 50th. any suggestions?

Our group also started with parenting clesses at the community health centre with the child and family nurse. We now also meet up every week at the same time and rotate around each others houses. It's good because most of us have moved to this area (Port Stephens) late in our pregnancy and didnt really know anyone up until now.The funnest thing are the long chats, admiring each others babies and checking out all the baby rooms

    Hey!
Sara - well done with the birthing buddys meet and finding your mum a pressent. I've only got Andrews on Layby for now, still gotta add a bit more to it, only coz his bdays first and then christmas is not long after. How was the party?
Ali - good to hear your knees getting better. My left knee plays up from a skiing injury. Walking helps, but if I walk too much in one hit, it gets pretty painful. I have to start walking again, not to lose the baby weight, but weight (and mummy tummy) in general. I hear you with the lawn mowing... Only I ran out of fuel and wasn't hindered by the rain.... darn brisbane weather keeps missing us!
Kim - Wow, Hayden is so big! He's only 9days older than Jens ... When I hear about the other babies in here, or compared to some at mothers group, I feel my bub might be a bit small... But he's healthy and thats what matters.
Claire - Isn't it great to see them make the next stage... but then wonder where your lil baby went!?! Jens still hates his tummy time, and I'd love for him to find something to make it fun.. but we just can't aford to buy something that he's gonna hate. We'll get there eventually. Our mothers/babies group started from the new mothers group run by the health clinic. I'm the youngest in our group - I have mixed feelings on that. One of the girls took it upon herself to make a questionaire and start the group. We meet at coffee shops and sometimes our houses... wont ever be at mine.. far too small! Tuesday, which is our day, just happens to be Melbourne cup and we're getting fancied up ( to a degree) at one ladys house..

Well... This turned out to be longer than I realised.. I was beginning to wonder if it was only at night I could get on here... but Jens is sleeping much better now. He sleeps at night from about 7/8 to 2/3 and then again til about 530. Its wonderful. Also, I'm getting better at seeing his tired signs and putting him to bed in his cot and he just falls asleep on his own. He did it just now and I snuck back in there coz he wasn't whinging!
We ended up in the A&E on Tuesday. (TMI !!) After his circ, we had to roll his skin back so it didn't re-adhere. We were doing that, but weren't rollling it back far enough (and for the 4days that mil bathed him she wasn't doing it at all) and must have re-adhered. I called the dr and was told to roll it back. It was difficult to do and kept at for small amounts of time coz Jens got all cranky about it. Finally got it back and it popped out bright purple with blood and I just flipped. I was hysterical and we called the ambos. To save them a trip, I called Andrew and we went to the hosp. Turns out it was just where it had become stuck together and i basically ripped it. Oh how bad did I feel? All I could think was that it was that purple coz he'd lost blood flow and I'd ruined his boy bits and they'd need to be amputated. He's fine now, just doesn't like it being rolled back.
Oh ! I forgot to mention... my cousin, that I'm one of her support ppl, is being induced. Monday she's having a test that could start off labour. IF not, she'll be admitted Thursday and induced Friday... So, next week, I'll be seeing a whole different side to the labour ward... I'm so nervous and excited!
Anyways, I better get the dishes done, and maybe find some more fuel to finish off the lawn.

    Have a great weekend!

    Hi all,

Rhi, I hope you get her to sleep in her cot again, so you can have some time to yourself. Gee's you are busy on fridays. I had a day like that yesterday and started wondering why I was doing it.

Alison, yay on the 5kg mark, glad you don't have to go back to the dietitian. Woo Hoo.

Sonia, Xavier is now 13 weeks/ 3 months, and yep he still slumps a little. I have the chair reclined back as far as it goes and he slowly slides down and falls to one side, so it is really only temporary and you have to watch the whole time. So it's good for while we are having breakfast etc. I use his tray as a plate too He is getting better at sitting though. I think it has helped that he has held his head up very well since birth. He can't support his back, but if he's awake he has no trouble holding his head up. Lol at being excited to clean. Are you going to miss her while she spends the day with nona? and what a clever girl grabbing her toys.

Rhiannon, well done on the cloth nappies, I considered it, but i've decided I'm too lazy. I think I too would choose sposies for night, because I wouldn't want to deal with rinsing poo off a nappy in the middle of the night. I like a quick change and back to bed. I'm sure his boy bits will be fine darl, but I understand how scary it would be.
How crazy it will be to not be on the hmm 'receiving end' in the labor ward. I wonder if it will give you flash backs. You will have to let us know what it felt like from the other side.

Sara, eww pooed on, don't envy you there. have you tried a heat pack to help colby with wind. that worked for my sis. Do you find that your whole day gets mucked up when you go into town, or does colby have a good nap in the car on the way to make up for it?
Ohh that's good about the doula work. I hope it all works out for you.
Good on brent for his new job. Even if it's less money with a company car you don't have to worry as much about the cost of petrol, servicing, rego and insurance, and that really adds up.

Clair sorry to hear cameron might have reflux. it is good that your GP at least picked up on a problem and is referring you, a lot don't, but darl, what are you supposed to do for an entire month? seems a long time to wait for an appointment. Mums group was organised my my MCHN, maybe ask yours about it, some nurses don't organise them till they get a certain number of people with similar aged babies.

It seems like there are a few dress up parties at the moment. I'm off to a 21st on saturday where I have to dress as a childrens character. I am going as tinkerbell. Xavier is coming too and he is going as where's wally with his red and white stripy bonds suit and a pair of jeans on, and Nathan I don't know what he's doing. If he doesn't decide by tonight he will be a wiggle.

Well I'm sorry ladies but I have to brag heaps. My precious little man after sleeping so well the other night, on Wednesday night we were back to normal only about 8 or 9 hours. Then last night he slept from 8pm till 8am, my was I excited this morning. and get this he's having a nap right now.
His sleeping has really improved, and yet the rapid increase I'm sure is not normal, I figure while he's got a cold he needs all the sleep he can get. Besides we are going out this afternoon, so I want him to sleep now.

Now if only I didn't have the cold too.

Bec, yay on the sleeping. Hope u r both better real soon.

Rhi, sounds like ur keeping pretty busy, hehe. Holly's had 3 eye specialist checkups already, they think she's border line needing glasses & to come back next year (monitoring). Coz myself & my nephew were born with longsightedness (between +3 & +4.5). Might have to do same with Lanah as she takes after me more than Holly does. Hope his eyes are ok.
Oh no on the scary incident, hope everythings ok now. WTG on the garage saleing, we picked up heaps b4 Holly was born.

I agree Mel, it is a great way to meet ppl, esp in ur mums group's case, having just moved to the area. Nice pic too.

Corr, yep same here, my mums group was organised by CHC too. Some of us actually went to the Earlybird meetups too, for birth-8wk old bubs & the mums group ran for 5wks, when bubs around 10-15wks. We still meet up weekly & 2 of us have 2nd bubs now & another is expecting shortly, most of the others are planning 2nds within the next mth or yr. I was meeting up with my hosp mums group & my hosp antenatal class group too, but hasnt been any meetups for quite some time now.
Hope the aptmt goes well & u get some answers. Think they usually give a thickened formula for reflux babies.

    Nice pics Kim.

Hope everything goes smoothly for ur inspection Ali. Same here, I really need to loose my dbl baby weight, thankfully though I only retained 2 of the 20kgs from Holly by the time I fell 2nd time. Still got 8/17kg to loose from Lanah, doh. Glad ur knee is improving.
    Xlnt on Em's weight.

Ooooh on the poo Sara, hehe. WTG on DH's job & ur doula calling.

Sonia, me too, I twisted my pelvis (& bulged a disc) few yrs ago & it's a recurring thing, I go to chiro 3wkly at moment.
Hehe, hope u had fun cleaning.

Disappointed that our netball team has split up, we only started when Lanah was 3wks old, bgr, will have to do somethin else now.

Finally made Lanah's birth announcements & posted them out. U can c them via my www - photos, they're actually 6x4" photos. (just blanked out our surname for internet) Oh I also added a few pics to my BB photo gallery too (bout 14).

    Hi Ladies,

Just having a scan of posts as my wee one is undoubtedly going to wake up any min from her arvo nap. Sounds like everyone is doing well.

Scone, like you i too am starting to get real good at spotting the tired signs. Boy does it make a difference when they get enough sleep in the daytime huh?? Gone are the early days where I'm bopping her around the house while she screams asking her, "what's the matter? what's wrong, what can mummy dooo?!"
Now at the first signs of grizzle, its nappy change, boob if she wants some, then off to the cot with her blanky beside her nose and pop the dummy in. Works about 70% of the time i reckon, the other 30% is sleep fighting and then she comes out of cot again to grizzle in the lounge with mummy and daddy while we try and have civilized dinner And ohh I think I am 'feeling' your freakout after reading that! Give Jensen a little cuddle for me. He's a brave little man. As with most baby emergencies, I think its us mums who do worse than the bubs. They have short memories when it comes to pain and discomfort, thank goodness.

There we go! She's awake now... u know i'm almost getting a bit superstitious about posting positive stuff about Willa here because it just seems like the very next day, she's playing up again and doing the opposite!! I'm just being silly of course

OH and i just posted A HEAP of pics in gallery. Methinks i need to give my camera a rest. Poor girl must be suffering from camera flash blindness given how often I take pics of her...

Not much to mention today.... bought a car last week. Gonna fix it up and sell it, hopefully make some profit. Andrew said "anything that keeps me out of work". LOL sounds funny but its so I can have as much time as I can with Jensen before I go back to work.

I just have a small question... Does your baby have a favourite parent? Jensen cries or screams, Andrew cant settle him, but he passes him over to me and he settles and/or stops. I can hand Jensen over to Andrew or other people when he's happy and smiling. He'll start crying and I take him back and he stops. I dont mind it but it does get very frustrating. It upsets Andrew coz he's rarely settled with him.

Anyway, I better go and get dressed as Andrew has his RDO and, as tomorrow is Melbourne Cup, our mothers group is having a Melbourne Cup party. The best dressed baby boy and girl gets a prize.... and I want to win! Gotta find a winning outfit for my baby and a dress for me!
    Have a great day!

    Hi all,

sounds like your all quite well,

Rhiannon, that is so normal to be attached to mum and no one else at the moment. Cherish every second because babies often but not always go through an I want dad phase when they get a bit bigger. Plus being a boy as Jensen gets older he will start to look more towards dad purely because kids generally look to the same sex parent for guidance.
Nathan quite often feels rejected when he can't settle Xavier, but it was really cute yesterday morning. I made nathan get up because I knew there was some EBM in the fridge. Because nathan got him out of bed, changed him, and then fed him, when the feed was over I had finally gotten out of bed, and Nathan was saying to Xavier "look there's mum", but xavier was too busy staring lovingly into Nathan's eyes to care about me at that point.

Well it appears as though 12 hour sleeps are becoming a regular habit around here. Xave did wake up at 5.30 sunday morning but that's because we screwed him right up because we went to a party on sat night and he went to bed 2 hours late. But on the plus side he went back to sleep till about 9 am sunday. Felt like a sleep in. Well at least i hope these sleeps are regular and not just because he's got his cold.

I think the cold is getting better now, mine has diminished to an asthma like cough, except I got power spewed on this morning. Thankfully all i was wearing was undies and a dressing gown, my boobs where huge from the long sleep, and he was starving, so was litterally guzzling and not wanting to take a break and then suddenly blahhhh all over mum's tummy, then he looked up and smiled at me Lol. We had to go have a bath, the 2 of us, as he was covered in spew too. finished our bath, then finished our feed. It sure has been eventful here today.

better go, waking from morning nap by the sounds.

kim that's not winging, your stuck at home with a bub, that you certainly can't strap on the back of a bike. If the car is your only means of transport he should leave it for you at least one day per week so you don't go mental at home. Besides It won't kill him for a day.

I agree! what is the point in having the bike and paying rego if he never uses it. if its cold tell him 2 put another layer of clothes on.

ali - does she? hee hee well then Em by default would obviously have to be a cutie then :P As for Em's hospital pics, all i have to say is that from reading your posts here (from my memory), i can't believe how well u handled it all. I would have been a giant ball of stress and worry. Largely needless worry, might I add, given how well babies do on NG tubes once they start thriving and putting that weight on. Anyway she's stacking on that weight now and doing brilliantly. As I hope I've said before, good on you, mum.

Sara - glad your mum's do went well. Ur doing well to post with a hangover. I haven't had a hangover in...wow, like a year or so! Well 18 weeks of morning sickness was pretty much a constant hangover... Morning sickness sucks becos its like the price u pay for a party u never had... hahah.

Scone - good to know Jen's sleeps are coming along (though I take my hat off to you for being able to get up more than once at night and still say it's ok for you!). Willa is doing some 2am, 6am thing at the moment which is driving me batty. Gone are her 12am, 4am feeds that I had gotten used to. Regarding your question abt parent preference. Haven't really noticed a real preference, but I have to say that in general, I'm able to settle her quicker simply because I have more experience at it than DH. But there are times she's so worked up and I'm so worked up that only DH can settle her.

Becca - glad ur colds are better! Always gotta watch out with the particularly bad colds/coughs that they don't develop into bronchitis which is a pain in the behind cos it takes aaages to go away. Oh and 12 hr sleeps still continuing? If u look up the word 'jealous' in the dictionary, there'll be a picture of a cranky me there with giant eye bags and really bad hair...

I too have a qustion, prompted by becca mentioning she put Xav to sleep 2 hrs late due to going to a party. How do you ladies manage putting ur babies to sleep when u go out? Especially at night, considering a delayed bedtime can muck up the whole night sleeping routine? I'm still really hesitant to take WiIllz out when its late because as u probably also experience, everyone wants a cuddle and by the time she gets put down, its always past bedtime.

Oh and besides the beautiful smiles and cooing that we're all getting now, is anyone else experiencing 'turbo baby' in the bath? I've stopped bathing Willa in a tub on the kicthen bench because her legs have become little propellers. Even in the bath tub, I'm lucky not to get drenched because she just kicks and splashes like crazy inside her small tub.

I WAS a big ball of stress and worry. I just did what I had to do with a few tears.

But u did have a party, in ur bedroom with only 1 other person invited (naughty naughty, I am a very bad girl) (this is meant in the most lighthearted family friendly way.)

    Hi all,

Alison, I must be a 2 pot screamer then, becuase our party didn't go for that long, and I didn't really get Morning sickness

Sonia, we can't actually get Xavier to sleep anywhere except in cot or arms. He will only sleep in his pram when it's moving, the car when it's moving. Luckily my mum has a cot. In Laws have one too, but it's a bit on the messy side, and they smoke, so it stinks. So we really haven't taken him out much. We have a few weddings coming up and I'm actually hoping that my mum will babysit at our house so he can go to sleep in his own bed.
I am sure people are going to start thinking I'm weird because we can't go to much stuff because I don't want to muck up his sleep, but cmon, he's 3 months old and sleeping 12 hours strait, and if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it, lol.

    Me 2.
Please call me Ali. I usually only get called Alison when I get in trouble. I know it's confusing with my username but that is a combination of 2 things.

Em goes up to 12 hours too. I love that she sleeps so well and now I don't have to wake myself up to feed her coz she eats enough during the day.
