Its very very quiet in here... does that mean that all the babies are sleeping all night, behaving themselves and generally not doing anything cheeky??? I think not!!

All OK with us. Milla is still waking up three times a night, but I'm not feeding her between 7pm and 1am.. Last night I fed her at 1:45am and 4am... Day sleeps have been a bit strange - just 25 minutes in the mornings, and then for the past two days we've had 2 hours+ at lunchtime. Bliss!! Do you think its possible that she doesn't even want the morning sleep now? When do babies "normally" go down to one sleep a day? Becca - how do they do sleeps at childcare? Does Xavier have just a big midday sleep there? I think that's how they do it at the centre I have most chance of getting Milla in to.. (we're on 8 waiting lists for our place in July, but its not looking very hopeful anywhere.. )

Better go. Hope all is going great for you all.

Rhi - Jensen has 2-3 sleeps a day... first 2 from 1-2hrs and the 3rd (if he has one, he gets cranky if he doesn't have it, but pushes on thru anyway) is about 30 mins. I have to look into day care for when I go back, but I don't want to go back and I don't know kind of days /hrs I'll be doing. Must call my boss like my hubby keeps nagging me to.

Not much is happening here. Nights are a nightmare. 3-4 times a night he wakes and he'll be back to sleep in my arms but when I put him down he screams (I think I've mentioned this already). The health nurse gave me something to try but didn't try it yet coz we came out to visit my sister last night... Jensen only woke the once, after telling them how often he wakes.... grr We put a oil fin heater in his room but it doesn't seem to work til about 4 in the morning. Friday night I put a bunny rug over part of the heater and got Jens back to sleep, took the bunny rug off the heater and put it straight onto his cot and put him straight down. Perfect. Didn't hear a peep for 2hrs! No screaming!!

Had a stall with my sister at the baby bazaar in Ipswich. I paid her $10 for my half of the stall, and made a profit (after that $10) of $29. Woo hoo! Might see if I can buy a decent sleeping bag for Jensen. I feel guilty if i buy things for myself.

Fingers crossed for a good day for tomorrow for my first mothers day! Let see what happens..

Have a great weekend and fantastic Mothers Day.!!!

    Hi Everyone,

I have been busy so not able to post. The amount of washing with two kids is insurmountable - seems so much more than just one!

Hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day, especially if it is your first, and you got spoiled. My present was to have a bath, which I haven't had since before I was pregnant with Ella (wasn't allowed after waters broke at 16wks).

Ella is still waking up twice a night, and feeding 3 times during the day since she is now on solids pretty well. I am still scared to give her sandwiches, although she handles them fine. She won't drink formula whilst I am out during the day so is just drinking water in a cup.

We are cruising the furniture, climbing onto anything off the floor and still only have two bottom teeth. She has learnt to splash in the bath and saying dad, and daddy to DH which is nice.

We finally bought a video camera so have been madly filming the two of them. Haven't managed anything for funniest home videos yet though - will keep trying. That $200,000 would come in handy!!

Scone, well done on the stall!!

Rhi - at the daycare my son goes to they do try and get them all down just after lunch for a big sleep, at about 11.30-12 for the babies room (under 18mths). Ella is having two sleeps, one at about 9-9.30 which could be one to two hours and then after lunch. When she starts at daycare in August I will tell them her routine then, so they can adapt it rather than trying to get her to wait until the big sleep. I can't remember when Myles dropped his morning sleep, probably about 1, but it depends on the child and also can change from month to month I think.

Kim - well done on the waving!

    Take care all

    Hi Ya,

how are we all, long time no post, but who has time.

I have only rustled up some time today because xavier is sick and I had to take time off work.

Campari have you been bitten? we are up to our 3rd tooth, and xavier bites if i offer a feed and he's not actually hungry, like he wants to suck but the milk is coming out so he bites down to stop it. It hurts. Needless to say I am cautious about feeding him if he's not ready now. It does sound like you are going through exactly what we are, I feel for you, no sugestions here, i've tried everything I can think of, just empathy from me.
Don't feel bad about the dummy, at the end of the day, you can't function with no sleep. Maybe try fazing it out for day time sleeps, at a time when your better equiped to deal with screaming/patting shhhing etc etc.

Well my monster just woke up, I'll try and come back a bit sooner next time.

    Bye

    Hi everyone!

Kim - That is cool that your DH did footprints of Hayden for you... My DH told me a few days before mothers day that he was going to do footprints for me (since that is what I did for him for fathers day!), but that he couldn't do it alone, so he had to tell me so I would help him! He bought some paint, but then basically I did all the work, he just held Milla up and I got to do the messy stuff! And now there are pages of messy footprints lying around the house cause he didn't bother to frame them or do anything to them!!! I got brekky in bed though too, and we had champagne for afternoon tea, so that was nice.

Ali - good luck with Ems challenge! How do you have to do it, just give her little bits of dairy and see how she goes??

Becca- yep, I have been bitten... Milla has just got her second top tooth, and she is testing everything with it. The first time she bit me was in the bath - sometimes I let her have a feed in the bath with me cause she is so relaxed and I grab every opportunity to feed her during the day, but she had just been chewing on a rubber duck, then she latched on, and fully chomped down. Man it hurt. The next day she was feeding in the afternoon and was playing around a bit after the let down had finished I guess, and she bit me really hard again. It hurt so much. I yelled 'no' and put her on the floor, and her bottom lip trembled and she started to cry. My nipple was all red and a bit swollen, and I kept checking it for blood, it was such a hard bite.... She hasn't done it for the last 3 days now, but I am also very scared of feeding her and really have to pay close attention to how she is sucking..

Also with her new teeth she has just started grinding them. Has anyone elses bub been doing that? Its such a horrible noise and I can just imagine her gorgeous little teeth being worn away by the time she is 2! I give her stuff to chew on all the time, but she just grinds away pretty often.

Sleep has slightly improved since the 2nd tooth came through, we are getting 4 - 5 hour stints now, but I am still feeding her twice in the night, usually at 1-ish and then at 4-ish.

Hope you all have nice weekends...

    Hey !!!

Wow, We've all been quiet for a while!

Kim - How are Hayden's teeth? Jensen is teething again as well -4 teeth at once as well. Top 2 front teeth, eye tooth and the one beside it (canine?). The eye tooth is so close to being thru, some of it is, but some of it is still in the gum if that makes sense, and the front tooth next to it isn't far off.
Work is not sorted yet I called my boss the other day and he still hasn't looked into maternity leave entitlements. grrr . So I will call him again tomorrow. I also have asked for how much I have earned this financial year and still haven't heard about that. Once Centrelink gets the right details, maybe I'll be able to actually buy groceries.
What a nice mothers day pressent! my Dh didn't getme anything from Jensen, but I got a pressent "from" Jensen from mum. DH's excuse was he didn't know what to get.....

Molly - On Mothers Day, my mother was holding Jensen and she reached to get herself a sandwich and he stole it from out of her hands! I have a pic somewhere. Happily ate it. Yesterday, we were at a baby shower and there were muffin sized quiches on the coffee table. He reached over (he was standing at the table), grabbed one and ate it. He's just too quick.

Becca - How is Xavier now? Was it a cold?

Misty - Sorry, we're not in homebush! Have fun tho! There will be other BB members there. I met some from Bris last year.

Rhi - I notice that Jensen chomps when he's not getting his milk fast enough or if he's distracted - or when he notices I'm not paying attention to him. I've never been able to do anything while bf (since birth!), like watch tv or hold a conversation. No grinding here tho.

Ali - Oh poor Em! Fingers crossed she gets better quick!

Well. Guess what!? No more tantys in the middle of the night now! I figured it out! I put a heater in his room (probably not a SIDS safe thing to do) and closed his door almost all the way - its held open by my shoe - and he sleeps all night! Last night and the night before was a comfort feed due to the teething. But *bliss* sleeping thru the night! Wish I'd thought of it earlier.

Tomorrow I have my appt to see the specialist about my carpal tunnel. It seemed to disappear for a while there, but its back now. Also, the Paed last week said we have to feed Jensen MORE (he eats heaps). He said he's very active and is burning off the energy and not gaining much weight. He was 7.8kg on Wednesday and has only just fully gone into an 0. The dr said to "feed him what drs tell ppl not to eat too much of" ie: butter etc. Well Mother and MIL are keen to feed him everything. MIL is trying to feed him chocolate. Looks like its time to make a stand.

Better go, this has been long and I have a thread to start. Might catch u there!

I have a ytd figure, but I have 2 types of payslip. There was a payslip for my salary and a payslip for when I was working casually just recently. I mentioned that to my boss, he sent an email off while we were on the phone, and he was going to email me back the email he received. So far nothing. I'm so annoyed.

The way things are looking atm, it seems as I'm going to have to go back to work pretty soon, just to survive.

BTW - I meant to ask have you had your FET yet?
