Hi all, hope your weekend has been good so far.

Kirst, if that article is correct than my hormones are def. saying STRESS, STRESS NOW! whenever my bub cries. I can deal ok with the whinging type wah-pause-wah cries but the high pitched hoarse ones break my heart. I will never again underestimate hormones. They turned me into a a calm, sedate, perpetually cheerful Betty Crocker during my 3rd trimester. DH says he wants that 'me' back because I was so nice and never snapped at him LOL.

Rhiannon, I do find that sometimes it takes someone else stepping into a crying baby situation to see an improvement. I think that its a validation issue as well as a empathy thing. After dealing with a screaming baby for hours, its a change to have someone else there to assess the situation and acknowledge that yes, you are facing a stressful situation and yes, you are doing your best. I don't have my mum with me here so I'm always ecstatic when MIL or SILs visit and have a turn at the baby.

Sleep- During nightfeeds its easy cos WIlla falls asleep on the boob. In the daytime, it varies. After feeding and if she looks wide awake, we stick her in her bouncer and she may drift in and out of sleep on her own. Good day she sleeps on her own without too much effort. If she starts getting all cranky pants if its a 'bad' day', then we pick her up, bop her around for ages and she MAY fall asleep properly. We sleep her everywhere; on our bed, in her cot, bouncer, single mattress we have in front of the telly or sometimes in her stroller.

    Nappies
    - Using Huggies Newborn at the moment but will have to change for the same reasons as you. She weighed 4.6g last week and seems to be getting too long for her nappies. They don't fit right anymore. Pity we still have 3 and a half boxes left! I might have considered cloth if we had the line space to dry nappies.

Age - I didn't even think of this b4. I went by each Friday since she was born, making her one month old this past Friday.

Had a nice Sunday today. We went to a local festival/markets and DD slept through the entire trip, even though there was live music and some really heavy bass thumping from the DJ stages. It was so noisy and chaotic. Funny going out with a baby. I haven't done it often since she was born but its like you have no other considerations, priorities or interests OTHER than the baby. We went with a friend and I'm afraid ignored the poor girl half the time. Even when we sat on a grassy spot under the sun to eat our lunch, I kept peeking under her stroller cover every 2 minutes. SIgh. My brain's turned to Mummy Mush :P
