Well my poor little princess is sick It is just a cold but she is just miserable.. Her poor little eyes are red and so is her nose.. She went to sleep at 6 and is out like a light.. Now if we canjust get the boys bathed and into bed without waking her I will be a happy mummy

ohh poor bubba, all these colds! this is crazy...

Ash started drinking water last night. i didnt intentionally do it, but his teeth were hurting so i gave him a bottle with a tiny bit of boiled water for effect and so he could chew on the top. But we was really quiet and just lying on his back watching tv and drinking it all by himself... i couldnt believe it! holding it perfectly! heehe wat a good boy. so he loves his water now..
How long do they have to have boiled water for till just tap is fine???

Olivia really seems to like her water to..

She slept okish last night. woke at 12 and went back at 1 but woke again at 2 and was screaming so loud she woke simon (hehe) he got up and we gave her some panadol and her and I slep on the couch till 6:30 this morning.. She seems ok now.. Little bit of runny nose but nothing to bad..

I am so excited though. We bought Ethans birthday present today After much discussion I decided bugger it I will go look at the cameras myself.. We got him a digital camera. I am playing with it now Its cool.. and seems pretty simple to use.. Can't wait for his birthday now

hey guys, we're back in the land of the living. sorry to hear so many bubbas are sick...
    i
just so people know, I can't recommend Karitane highly enough. They do use a comfort settling (crying) method, but have other strategies too, and are respectful if you don't want to do crying... They gave me some good strategies. If anyone's being suggested to go there, they are just fabulous.

Also, this might be relevant to those of you trying to reduce night feeds. Ella had been wanting more and more, but they helped me re-jig her routine to reduce day feeds. Sounds counter-productive I know, but she was snacking and never having a great feed. As a result of changing her to 4-5 hourly feeds, she's only having a late feed and that's it til 5 am (still not sleeping great, but generally improved) and she's feeding well in the day. Also has started to put on weight again (she'd stopped doing this, v. worrying - still needs to improve, but it's a start). In her case, it's also fixed what we thought was a food intolerance - she was getting lactose overload with the frequent small feeds.

I've just decided tho, that I've got better things to do than rock the cot/pat her to get her back to sleep after 30 min when she's absolutely wired. It's driving me spare! So although their routine is great, I haven't got the emotional stamina to try to re-settle a baby who obviously doesn't want to. trying to keep in perspective that she always gets enough sleep anyway so we'll survive. Ultimately, as good as it is, their routine is just another theory, works for some, not for others!

hope you're all going well. We're off to a picnic in the park with my wonderful mummy's group on this lovely sunny day. And the picnic is pizza, so even better, no preparation
