Nic - What sort of swing do you have? We are thinking of getting one of the bouncy seats that hangs from the door frame when LIvi is a bit older. My sister had one for my nephew and he loved it as he was such an active baby, as Livi is - she never stops moving!!!

A jolly Jumper is what you mean I had one but my sister is using it at the moment.. I don't really like them though and the boys never enjoyed them so we hardly used it..

My swing was bought off ebay (new) it is a graco one.. It is a small one but not to small.. like the fisher price one has a take and go one and I don't like it cus it is low to the ground mine is normal height but compact..

If you get one I would get one that runs on batteries. I take mine downstairs to peoples places ect... and camping.. is brilliant for camping.. Roll on cooler weather.. this mummy is dying o go camping

Oh Nic, that thing sounds like a great idea. Can you PM me some details or a link to one so I can check them out. And don't be jealous hun, Tehya still doesn't sleep through so I have earnt a good night like that with Abbey. And if I remember clearly Tehya wasn't too bad a sleeper in the early days too. And now she is the worse. We failed sleep school !!

I have booked an appt for my gp tomorrow. Abbey will be 6 weeks on Monday so will do a double visit. Need a check up after coming home from hosp. Still haven't booked in the specialist appt for myself yet. Opps.
I think I will be in for the same sort of night. Abbey went down way too early for my likings.

Alicia, good to hear that you are healing well. Abbey is staying awake longer now too. Like yesterday. way too many hours then she was overtired.

Might look into a swing at some stage. DH just put batteries into Livi's bouncy chair so that the vibrating function works - she seems to love it.

Abbey has a Maclaren rocker that vibrates. I still haven't bothered with the batteries in it. She's rarely in it long enough. Really do need to start leaving her sitting for a bit longer. She is liking being carried around all the time too much. Really kicks up a stink when left to herself.

Wha is it with the little girls? I swear the boys never cried this much... I know all babies ae different but sheesh. Although tonight Olivia was in her swing awake for over half an hour without calling for someone (me) to pick her up

Nic, I find Abbey will settle after a while with DP or my mum but if I am holding her she just wants boob. Even if she's been on it for the last hour !! Am feeling very drained today but I think it's all the feeds. Am keen to see how much weight she has gained tomorrow. It better be impressive.

Noah was my crier, still is for that matter. Can you belive I am about to go outside and hang a load of washing out. It's 10.15, I am stuffed, eyes are soooo heavy and yet my bum remains in front of the puter. I am sure the minute I go to bed Abbey will wake up, which I guess is better than doing it after 30 mintues.

I hear you on crying girls! LOL. DH can't stand it Tallon was such a content placid little thing.. and now Kayla just cries and cries. High maintenance already! I know she's had wind for a long time so is probably very uncomfortable, but argh.. the crying!

But - from the beginning I had an inkling she had the potential to be a better sleeper than Tallon. And last night she only woke up once at 2am! So it was 10pm, 2am, then 7am. yay And she didn't cry inbetween feeds..just slept (unless I've slept through her crying.. yes I've done that a few times.. even DH couldn't wake me to tend to her.. and she's right next to me too! LOL)

Sorry I haven't really caught up on reading this thread.. don't really know where the time is going!

I've got Kayla's physio appointmenet early tomorrow morning, and then both kids are getting their needles at 9.30.. then I've gotta go grocery shopping. Argh.. I'm tired just thinking about what's on tomorrow. Kayla better give me some sleep tonight!

Liz, sounds like your in for a busy day too hun. I hope that the physio goes good. Is that for Kayla's legs / feet ? Abbey's were given the all clear but still look abit turned to me.

LOL at you sleeping right through bub's crying, you must have been one tired mummy. OMG does that mean that Kayla is already 2 months old !! Far out that went quick.

As soon as we are both back on top of stuff we should have a catch up. Would be great to see you again and I'd love to meet Kayla, and of course Tallon again.

Louise - hope the needles go well for you guys tomorrow. Tallon was fine each time with his, no panadol or being unsettled. I'm hoping Kayla is the same.

I'm sure Kayla has had a big growth spurt - she's had very frequent feeds the last few days, and better sleeping too.. I'll be interested to see what she weighs tomorrow.

Well, she's falling asleep in my arms as I type, and then I'm off to do the kitchen. Thank goodness for dishwashers is all I can say! Trish - how do you not use yours?? LOL. I'd like to know why my kitchen still gets in such a mess with a dishwasher tho *shrug*

Liz, is that a good thing or a bad thing knowing me better Seriously though, as soon as I have Noah started in kindy we will have to get to it. We aren't that far from one another. And I am dying to get up to Penrith Plaza for a shop too. Haven't been there in ages.

As for our dishwasher, the thing is so old, was here when we bought the house. It's quite loud and probably wastes a heap of water. I figure for the most part, the time it would take me to stack it I could do the dishes. I look at it sometimes and thing ahhh I should just shove them in there but rarely do I. Generally only if we have had people over or somethign like that and there is a heap to do.

I think Abbey is having her growth spurt too. She finally has a double chin. Although then you look down and see the skinniest little chicken legs. Most of her cloth nappies still swim on her and the newborn huggies tabs are only just now not crossing over on her.

Is anyone else having issues with a bub that won't just lay or sit there. Everytime I put Abbey down in her rocker you can pretty much guarentee within a couple of minutes she is having a cry. I will feed her and everything, no issues, but yet she still whinges. Very frustrating I tell ya.

DP is bringing Tehya back sometime this morning, there goes the peace and quiet. LOL, it's soooo nice around here without all the kids. Isn't that shocking.

I'm not even going to try catching up on what is going on in here!!! sorry..... now we are getting into a better routine i hope i'll be able to keep up with everything!

went out to Highpoint SC yesterday with Chrissie and DH... just to see how we'd go... gotta start getting used to moving around with her as DH goes back to work properly next week!!! It's a little daunting really... but getting there... i'm more afraid of our stairs than anything else now.... will get used to it i guess..!

Had a visit from the maternal and child health nurse yesterday! All is well and Chrissy has gained 166gm in 3 days!!!! which is awesome and is nearly up to birth weight again!

Last night we had a great night, she was attaching perfectly and nipples are starting to feel heaps better now!!!!

Chrissy eats about 60ml from the bottle at the moment before falling asleep! so after every feed i express what's left and make up a 60ml bottle that DH can give her later in the night.. and now when he gives her that, i express a full one for the next day to give my nipples are break too! How much does everyone else freeze etc??

As for crying... so far Chrissie only cries when i take her nappy off and when i'm too slow to feed her!!.. but i'm sure that will change soon enough...

well, i gotta pop in the shower while Chrissie is sleeping.... Will try and come back later and keep up with everything!!

All I can say is holy bad night batman ..

Olivia woke at 11pm and it was after 4am before she closed her eyes again **yawn**

Last night of all nights where I was unable to get help from DH or get a sleep in as he left at 6 for work..

At least the tv didn't suck and she wasn't crying that much just awake.
Isaac is still asleep which is amazing as he went to bed 13 hours ago..

Liz: I have slept through the kids before too,. Not Miss Olivia though her cry is way to loud.. Dh had to wake me a few times when Ethan was a baby and right beside the bed. He woiuld get up change his nappy and then bring him to me

Good Luck with the needles and the physio.. I keep telling Olivia to fatten up her thighs for her needles

LOL at finally getting a double chin Trish. Kayla was BORN with hers LMAO. Penrith plaza is pretty good these days. I feel like I've been there so much lately after hardly being there for a while hehe. My inlaws are down your way, but they've been visiting us rahter than us going down there, so yeah, it's not very far

Well, Kayla's cracked th 5kg mark! She's 5.1kg (clothed) today. So allowing for clothing.. she's been gaining about 200+g per week.

And yes - I have a baby that won't lie or sit! Actually, that's not entirely true.. she will if she's wrapped, sit in her rocker for a while. She did have one really good play on the floor the other day, but geez in 2 months thats not much LOL. The Dr has given me a script for Zantac coz she said she has a bit of reflux, and could explain her being a baby that cries a lot. But she said only use it if neither of us are coping with it. Well, I guess we are coping with it.. but it would be nice to give her a bit of relief. I now need to read up on any side effects etc of Zantac. She also said to talk to the pharmacist about over the counter reflux stuff first too before trying it. It'd be nice if we could make her a bit more comfy - i know what it's like having had heartburn during the pg.

As for the needles - Tallon was an absolute champion! He just watched curiously as the needle went in... and just towards the end you could see in his face he was thinking "ok..it's starting to hurt" and then it was over! No tears, no wimpering about the fact a stranger was touching him hehe. Kayla on the other hand didn't hold back LOL. Poor little darlin. But she's ok now, sleeping nicely atm, (so is Tallon thank goodness).

Oh, and the physio is pleased with her feet. Will just have another look in a months time. She said it can take about 3 months for them to fully correct, so she'll just do one more follow up.

OK.. must go and eat something while I have peace & quiet.

Trish: we have the same issue with Olivia. she just seems to like being held. We did find the swing yesterday kept her happy for a while but today nothing is working. I have finally got her to sleep. I think she was just plain exhausted from last night

Now for some nice quiet time.. boys are watching a movie and fighting again **sigh** not loud fighting but " this is MINE" type of fighting..

Hi everyone, finally I have a minute to post! I hear you all on wingy babies, whenever Caitlin is awake she is winging, I really dont know what to do, most of the time i put her on the boob coz I think she might be hungry... Her feeds only last about 5-10 minutes and she sucks so much I think she is an efficient eater, but then an hour later the only thing that will settle her is more boob. DId that make sense?

Haroula I think that is a great amount to be expressing, I need to do both sides in the morning and can only get about 80ml which DF uses to 'dreamfeed' Caitlin.

Does anyone else dreamfeed? I am finding it so helpful, DF does it at about 12, and I only have to get up once at about 4am to feed. So I am getting plenty of sleep.
