Aww Nic, that is a crappy night. I do know the solution. Medication !! But seeing as how it's not a ncie thing for us to use I guess we all have to put up with it.
Tehya has been up since 4.30 this morning and is still going !! She's got to crach and burn sometime soon.
I sometimes think of introducing a bottle of formula at night.. I don't think she is waking from hunger though as she rarel feeds or has small feeds if she does.. She just likes to wake up kwim?/
Hey girls. Not a great night here either. We were up for over an hour at 3am with her screaming. Pretty sure it's wind pain. Gave her nurofen anyway tho because her top tooth is slooooooowly pushing through, but it didn't really help. Tallon was awake that whole time too, and he was trying to help. It was so sweet. She settled for a little bit while lying on her tummy across my legs and he was there patting her hair and giving her kisses and putting her dummy back in. I couldn't help but let him stay & help. So sweet. Normally he sleeps through the ruckus.
Of course she's up playing happy as larry now, and my eyes are hanging out my head. That wasn't the only wakeup, but it was the only one that took ages to settle her. So I dunno how many times I actually woke. Anyway... we survive.
Had a mini breakdown yesterday. Attempted a mummy sicky but alas, still had to clean the kitchen and do washing, and prompt DH to do stuff for the kids and around the house. It just got me down. We're having a few issues with DH not bonding with Kayla too. He cannot stand her screams and he says when she smiles at him or anything he feels a wall come up. He feels bad about it, and doesn't understand why it's different with her than it was with Tallon. He did take a while with Tallon, coz he's clueless with babies, and he bonded once Tallon interacted more.. but with Kayla he actively dislikes her.. if that makes sense. Anyway, it affects our relationship when he's like this with her, coz it just breaks my heart.
Anyway, we had a little talk last night about me feeling like a single mum most of the time, and how unsupported I feel around the house etc etc. He immediately wanted to get up and clean the entire house for me.. argh. He just doesn't get it. I don't really get it either I spose, lol.. coz I know it goes deeper than having him clean the house for me, but I dunno what's gonna fix it. I suggested perhaps he needs professional help re how he feels about Kayla. So we might look into something for that. I looked up Relationships Australia and they have sessions for fathers.. dunno what's involved tho. I looked up male PND too, but I don't think it's that.
Anyway, I'm giving him help with WHAT to do with her.. he doesn't even play with her when she's happy - no wonder he can't stand her when she screams! (and it really is a horrible scream). So he managed a few awkward games with her yesterday, and he bathed her last night. So hopefully things might improve if I MAKE him get more involved. We probably have slipped into the habit of me having her and him having Tallon.
Whoa sorry girls. It's like I just lay down on the couch and let it all out! LOL. But it's nice having this little group.. don't have to post such a public post to let it all out
Trish - hope Abbey is better soon, poor little chook. Kayla had a temp for a couple of days, but it didn't seem to develop into anything. She had a couple of coughs but that's about it. Tallon's got a cold at the moment, but nothing too bad, just a cough and runny nose.
Hi everyone else. Will come back later no doubt, so will try and catch up then.
Hey Trish - our girls are the same weight now? I don't think Kayla is in the 25th percentile tho? hmm.. should have a look. But then her weights are done on corrected age, so she was checked as 8mths old.. not 9 1/2 months. So that puts her nearly a month younger than Abbey. Ugh.. the whole thing is dumb if you ask me. LOL. I reckon we should just go by how many rolls are on their thighs LOL.
Hey liz - feel free to let it out, its wat where here for
Omg i cant believe all these sick babies
Last night was a little better, Ash is really sick with a cold now and i have a sore throat. I think mum bought something home as her boss was really sick too.
Everytime ash coughed he cried cos it hurt his throat.. poor little thing...
Off to see a natrapath at the preggy centre. hope this helps him!!!
Liz.. i don't have any advice but I am sure it helps even just a little to write it all down..
I am so sick to death of Simon not helping either. I hate getting handed he crying baby everytime and being told she wants boob.. yes when she was a newborn maybe but for petes sakes.... before she was a little cranky and I thought stuff it and went and sat in the bathroom for half and hour Simon got her to sleep without "the boob" oh and I am not a COW.. MIL words.. she always says here come the cow.. or if Olivia cries She wants the cow *sigh*
I got this house looking all sparkling last week and Simon came home and said how lovely it looked. i said lets attempt to keep it this way.. I said I need your help to maintain it. Of course the house looks like crap now. I just did the dinner dishes and I need to vac and mop while Olivia is napping. Isaac is sick with the vomits now.. and where is Simon...............chooses to go out now.. yes he has to pay bills but he didn't take Jacob cus he had to get in and out of the car a few times.. well ****e hey!! seriously how difficult is it to take a ONE child with you.. I manage 4 on my own and he complains abut one..
Anyways sorry for the ramble but it does feel good to let it out.. I need to go clean this bloomin house again..
I am sick of vomit and sick of kids snotty noses.. sick of housework.. sick of doing it all while Simon gets to go out on hiw own or do exercise or whatever the heck he wants..
Hi all,
What a beautiful day it is in Sydney Even warm enough to open the`windows`and let some air in the house.
Trish- Abby and Ty are pretty much exactly the same size. He's put on not much at all in the last two months either. But is healthy looking and happy enough so
Lauren- Good luck with naturopath, hope it helps.
Nic- Am so sick of the nights. I've been contemplating a ff before bed too, but I'm in the same boat- not sure it'll help, he just likes to wake. Might try it anyway, can't hurt. I was enjoying saying he's never had formula though.
Liz- Let it all out, that's what we are here for. What a rotten situation to be in.
Hmm... I'm sposed to be doing training at work tomorrow, sposed to start at eight thirty am. Which would mean dragging Ty out of bed at 5am, dropping him off with MIL and driving two hours in peak hour to get there, then hour and a half home. For three hours training. And Ty hates being with the MIL. I'm not sure it's worth it... I think I might call them and say I'm not coming. I am worried they will fire me but I figure I'm only doing 5 hours a week so surely I could pick that up somewhere else closer to home. And Ive got tickets to the ballet on Wednesday, so I'll have to leave Ty with MIL for that too. Two days in a row... nup I can't do it to the poor little chop.
ETA- Nic- Hear hear!! Dh does the same... convientantly excuses himself when anything gets too tough and doesn't seem to understand that there is no cleaning fairy... it's actually me picking up after him!

Lauren- What an awesome idea!! I have a patch blanket from when i was in Guides that my mum made me and I still love it.
Nic- Crossingmy fingers for you today, I'll be thinking of you. I'm sure it will be ok.
Hmmm... not much going on here. Ty is asleep but I just feel so lazy, can't break out of winter hibernation mode just yet. Reading a book in the sun is sounding appealing.
Nic - all the best with the test results. As much as I hope they dont find something, I hope you get some answers today.
Lauren - hehe.. had to giggle when you said Ash has no teeth yet.. that would be a surprise when he smiles for those that ask if he's 18 months old! hehe.
Lori - hope Ty's tooth cuts soon. We had a rough time cutting the top two teeth. They're coming down nicely now, and she's cutting her 4th tooth at the bottom, but it doesn't seem to be hurting her as much.
Well, my news is, Saturday was our 5th anniversary, and DH has booked a balloon ride! eeek! We've got to choose a date to do it, but argh, I'm freaking out LOL. I told him we have to have our life insurance and wills sorted before we do it. I even asked him if we can go in separate balloons so if anything happens the kids won't be orphans. LMAO. I'm not nervous!!
We got the kids pressies too (family tradition ) and we got Tallon a sandpit.. but gosh - getting him to keep the sand IN the sandpit is proving a challenge! Kayla just got a couple of usual baby toys heh, and they both got a toy for the bath. Tallon also got a wiggles guitar which gets played LOTS lol. He plays it when watching the wiggles and raggs. So cute. He rocks! hehe. (think he gets all the guitar movements from watching us play guitar hero on the xbox. He was using those guitars all the time, which is why I knew a wiggles guitar would be a hit hehe). DH is sooo hard to shop for, coz his wishlist comprises of expensive technology all the time! So I just got him a digital photo frame for his desk at work. It's pretty good actually heh.
Well Kayla now pulls herself up on the furniture very efficiently, and has finally worked out to move her feet in more once she's up LOL. And she's slowly working her way along the furniture now. She's sooo keen to get moving tho, you can see her leaning wanting to get to everything, so we'll see how long before she lets go and gets going. Tallon was 11 months when he let go and walked on his own. So I guess Kayla might be similar (she's about 9 months corrected now).
i've packed away the co-sleeper cot now, and she's in the big cot in our room. So at least I know she's contained now if she wakes up hehe. Altho I had her in our bed last night in an attempt to wean her from the wrap. But the Tallon came clambering in early this morning, so I put her back in her cot. Couldn't be bothered with them playing in my bed.. I wanted more sleep!
Well, it's GORGEOUS weather here today, have got lots of washing on the line, and I've actually done a fair bit of cleaning this morning! I have soooo much washing all over the lounge tho that needs folding and ironing. I'm gonna put the kids to bed once Raggs finishes and will find myself something to watch while I tackle it. *sigh*
Ok.. it's finished.. gotta put these kids down.
OMG Liz im so jealous..a balloon ride!!i have always wanted to do that, kinda a do before i die thing! wow have an awesome time..and i wouldnt be scared, you dont hear many of them crashing.. at least i havent lol .. sorry that wasnt very reassuring was it.
OMG i had to post !!! Ash just stood all by himself!!! We were sitting in the lounge eating dinner and he was holding onto the coffee table and a toy in one hand and just let go and held the toy with both hands! of course i squealed in excitment and he hung straight back on the table..
Then after dinner he had cuddles with nanna and granddad and they were teaching him ear and tounge.. and mum said nannas ear and Ash pointed his finger and went straight to his ear!! it was incredible. He then looked at the dogs who were sitting next to them and panting as they had been for a walk and he stuck his tounge out and started breathing heavy!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! wat a night!!!!!
Quick jump on.. Isaac's MRI result was all good (wwwwooooo) So no nasties.. I knew there wouldn't be but was nice to know 100% for certain kwim? He has ben given a preventative medication now which we will trial on .5mg for the next 6-8 weeks and if he gets another headache (due at end of Oct) we up the med to 1mg and then he is on it for 6 months to see how he goes..
I am so tired and really need to go to sleep.. I was up till 11 last night and then Jacob woke up and with all his carrying on he woke Olivia who was awake till 2am !!!!!! and then Jacob woke at 5:20 and so did Olivia.. my eyes are hanging out of my head lol..
Anyways at mums now till Saturday then Camping till Tuesday.. Will check in tmorrow
