SAL - So glad to hear that you & your man have sorted things out & WTG on looking for a place together! That's great news! How are things with you & Brendan? Oh wow with the dog food eating, that's pretty icky. I have no suggestions other than just putting the dog food down at the dogs meal times? Claudia had a whale of a time in my parents dogs water bowl on the weekend. Gross me out!

TASHIE _ It's up to you about the pet, but if you're planning on moving anyway, why not just get him a pet when you are all shifted, that way you are settled & Tobes is older? Oh wow you are brave helping out your friend. It'll be fun for Tobi to have a playmate, just remember double the fun & double the trouble! I had my gf's little girl for 2 weeks fulltime & then a couple of nights every week for the following couple of months when Jessica was 12 months old. it was because her older girl was really sick in hospital & she had nobody to have her. It was fun but sooooooo tiring at the same time! At least your little visitor will be going home at night.

KRISTY _ Oh wow, just think that next year at Erin's 2nd birthday you will have a bub that is 8-12 weeks old! Now that is scary! Did she get lots of nice presents? Get over the birthday & everything & then let me know when you want a playdate.

LISA _ I hear you with the tantrums. I have those as well. Claudia puts herself on the floor & throws anything that is in the vicinity of her when she is having a meltdown. I think it's funny & just walk away from her. My goodness me, when is Harrison going to show you some TEETH! I think he is going to end up getting them in pairs! I hope you guys are all on the mend, it's been one thing after another with you guys!

KYM _ What did the Dr say about Monkey & DH? I hope they are better very soon.

ME _ Had a couple of horrendus nights with both kids. Saturday night I didn't get to bed until 1:30 pm. Between Jess & Claudy, they played tag team with Mummy & Claudia woke every 90 mins on the dot, most of the time though, I didn't have to pick her up, just a little pat. I actually think she was crying in her sleep because she didn't open her eyes & stand up like she normally would. Jessica is at thriving 3's atm & Claudia is asleep so I'm just loving the 'quiet time'. Claudia has learned to say my sisters name so she is going on & on with 'Nat, Nat, Nat, Nat'. Very cute. She took 240mL of cows milk last nigth & then fell asleep on the lounge. Jessica was in awe because she was on her tummy with her legs tucked up & she kept on going over to her & saying 'my sister is a koala bear'. Gorgeous.

Hi Girls,

JAYNE - Erin must be going out in sympathy with your girls, as she was relly restless last night. I can see a tooth poking through at the bottom so think that may be the culprit. That will be tooth number 10!! Really look forwrad to catching up and meeting your gorgeous girls. Been meaning to ask you what does your DH do in China? My FIL was working up there on the oilrigs.
TASH - That is Erin's favourite trick throwing things out of the pram. In the last 3 weeks we have lost 3 dummies, a new pumpkin patch hat and a toy. Have got one of those chains for the dummys now just for our walks. Erin walked across the room for the first time yesterday before it had only been 2 or 3 steps. Will have to dig out her measurments form the Purple book and get back to you.
LISA - Poor love with vurus central. Hope you are all on the mend really soon.Yay for the teeth!!
SAL - Erin did the same thing at my sisters house with the dog food, must be a kid thing!!Bannanas are one of Erin's favourites as well. She also loves ice blocks just started making her fruit ones and she devours them.
KYM - Good on you fro making the decision about the house. Sometimes we need to take a step back and look at what is really important, and what quality of life we have. Hope you get a great price for your house.How did the physio go ?


Well nothing much more to report from us, we have Erin's christening in a couple of weeks so that shoudl be nice. Just booked in to get my car converted to gas. Because of the Govt Rebate it will only cost $250.00. It will be duel fuel usage so you can use both gas and petrol. Yesterday when I looked gas was 65 cents compared to $1.37 for petrol so I think it willo definently help us save some dollars

KRISTY _ DH is a Fabrication Supervisor. He oversees the welding & boilermaking of steel construction. He has 60 non-english speaking Chinese men to supervise atm. Thank goodness DH is learning some Chinese with the help of a translator & his driver. I hope that tooth is coming through really soon. OMG with 10 teeth! That's insane! She is really quick! Is she walking now? Yes, I"m dying to catch up, you can come to our toy factory if you'd like?

We have been at the hospital this afternoon, so I have Claudia's weight & length. LOL. She fell coming up the step from our sunken loungeroom to our kitchen & has busted the skin between the nose & top lip. It's about 2cm long & very puffy. I took her to the hospital because it was so puffy the skin couldn't close over to form a scab. They were going to stitch it but decided to use the 'tissue adhesive' basically super glue, to minimise the scarring. Very scary stuff. My heart is still racing. Even Jessica panicked. It was horrible. She was so adorable holding the tissues over her sisters face while I drove to the hospital. Bless her heart.

Ok, here are some stats:

Walking: Yep, almost running & can now turn around in circles on command!She walked the week before she was 11 months (Have to check bub book for actual date)
Teeth: 8 in total - 4 bottom & 4 top
Other cool things: Calls out bath time after her dinner & goes into the bathroom, goes into Jess' room & gets her headbands & puts them around her neck like necklaces, blows kisses, goes & looks in the 4 bunny hutches until she finds bella then stands & points saying 'Bella', tries with all her might to sing along to the bob the builder theme song, looks through the newspaper hole in the letter box & calling 'jess jess' so they can spy on each other - ok, the list is endless!

Jayne, Hope Claudia is ok. Sounds like she is doing really well! 10.6kg, shes huge! lol. Brendan and I are both really well. Brendan is starting to eat more solids which is great... so i'm going to cut one milk meal out and replace it with more solids. *fingers crossed*

Tashie, Glad to hear things are looking up for your nephew.

Well here an update on the dog food.... not only is he racing over to eat it (he just sucks on it, but still gross) but he is sharing... with the dog. Yesterday I caught him with a rusk offering it to the dog, the dog grabbed hold of it and then Brendan pulled it back and started chewing it again. Eeeew! I mean it's great that he's sharing, but with the dog?? PMSL!

We went out for tea last night, we just had a pub meal, but it was still going out! Brendan was very well behaved and I had my favourite... surf n turf! mmm mmmm.

Hi girlies!

Eugh, work. 3 weeks back and FINALLY computer access: I had to chase everything myself. So much for my line manager doing ANYTHING. Not best pleased.

Migraine: on co-codamol, an addictive opiate drug. Nice. I have no side-effects, Liebling has them all. He gets all excited and happy, but dizzy and woozy too after a feed. He also can't drive. I'm not taking them today because I feel a bit better, that and I don't like DS taking ages to go to sleep at night. May take some before playgroup and before bed actually. But just 4, not the usual 8. Eye test on Friday to see if it's my eyesight.

Now I know why we don't have pets... sharing with the dog? Mmmm. So pleased that DS can't do that!

Stats on DS:
Weight: about 20lb - that's just under 9kg
Height: around 76cm, maybe 77cm
Words: other than Liebling-language, he has Mumma, Dadda, Ja, No, Hey, Bye, Hug and Duck. He has also said (in context) gorgeous, hot, hiding, dog, love you, thank you. But he doesn't say those enough for me to say they're his words. He has a Liebling word for drink (ningy), end of bath (owap), time to leave the house (oo-yup) and a few other things, but those are the ones I can recognise easily!
Walking: Yup. He can walk confidently around the sitting room, navigating boxes and tables with ease. His only problem is the small step from the sitting room to the hall; he's a bit wobbley on that. He can go up it, but not down it. It's only about an inch high.
Teeth: at one year, 7 incisors. Right now he has 7 incisors, his top two first molars are halfway out, his bottom left first molar has started to break, his bottom right first molar is lurking, as is his final incisor. (We've not had much sleep and he's super-clingy atm for some reason!)
Other cool things: He goes for hugs with people he knows happily (asks for hugs), he can clap along when other children start to clap, rather than him just randomly doing it, he waves bye-bye and night-night, he can play with cars (driving them around and making them crash into each other), he loves hitting things with sticks and tools, if I wanted to stop feeding he's ready to but will take if offered so I am making him keep with two feeds a day, he is starting to use a fork/spoon to self-feed, he reads paper books without tearing, he draws, he can use a shape-sorter really well now (no help from parents!), starting to get the hang of baby jigsaws, carries toys/books to an adult for a play, ah, he's so cool I can't fit it all in here! He's fab.

Tashie, DS was tube-fed in hospital because as soon as I left I didn't want him on formula so we didn't give him much. He has dropped from 50th centile to 9th over the year, but he's so active the HV (MCN) is OK with this. I don't htink he needed tube-feeding now as he's ended up on that centile anyway, he was never destined to be a chubba bubba!

Jayne, poor Claudia. DS cut his lip yesterday, nowhere near as bad, but I just told him "just a split lip, you're fine mate, want a toy car?" and he was fine after that. I am refusing to take him to hospital unless he's going to die now because I don't want them to think me a bad mother - he's been in once due to a burn and again because he was finding it hard to breathe and I didn't call them for over half an hour then (on the advice of my mother, stupid woman) so want to be a good mum whose baby isn't in and out of A&E LOL, as if that's a good parent but I don't want to be suspected of anything IYKWIM.

Hugs to all, have to go change a nappy before playgroup I think!

Don't you hate it how you type up a reply and then you lose it, now I don't remember what I was saying...

Jayne - I hope Claudia is all good again now and she is still eating. Sounds like Jessica is a very sweet girl. You are lucky to have two gorgeous girls.

Ryn - I wouldn't worry about what other people think about you taking Liebs to the doctor or hospital. Go with your gut feeling. I am sure that there is a lot of accident prone babies out there and if you are concerned for his health, then that is a good thing, not a bad thing. I hope the eye test went well.

Sally - I'd see the dog food thing as a building block for his immune system. And they do say that dogs mouths are cleaner than ours. And hey, sharing is awesome, good on him. I am sure all our kids get into or will get into things that are not exactly desirable, when we are or aren't looking. I know I ate a snail when I was little, fresh out of the garden and on the night of Tobi's birthday he ate half a cigarette. It was my bro in-laws. I was in the kitchen and Tobi must have seen bro go and get something out of his girlfriend's bag and go outside, so Tobi followed their lend, grabbed the bag, went through it and started munching on a cig. I was in the kitchen and everything went quiet so I knew something was going on. I came into the lounge room to find Tobi had vomited everywhere. Poor little guy and on his birthday too. I hope he remembers that when he is 15 and gets offered a cig. ... So glad to hear that you are getting out and about. It is so important to have some 'us' time. Now that Tobi is in such a good night routine, I am really missing catching up with friends at night. When we lived in Brisbane we used to do dinner a couple nights a week, now that we are in Sydney, all of our friends have babies and dinner just doesn't work. So if you can get out have dinner than that's awesome.

Kristy - Hope the teething is getting better and you have a better night sleep tonight. I was talking to my Aunty that lives not far from our place about losing toys out of the pram and she said that she saw a duck on the side of the road the other day and thought it looked like Tobi's. It was! Poor duck not there now.

Lisa & Kym - How are you all feeling now? Being sick sucks. I have noticed now that we have Tobi, DH and I get sick more often too. We are slowly getting better. It really hit DH the worst, well it seemed to anyway. You never know with men and whether they are just whinging. How long does it take for ear infections to heal? Tobi has swimming tomorrow and I don't know whether to go or not. I wouldn't put his head under the water regardless. What do you think? He has finished his course of antibiotics.

Michelle - I know that you are back at work. But don't forget about us!

My little nephew is home from hospital, but I am really worried about my bro's girlfriend. She really isn't coping and my bro is not helping the situation with working from home and wanting her to lose weight asap.

I have offered for some friends to move in for two months while Nathan is away. They are pregnant, so saving some money will be good for them and great for us too to have some extra cash, plus having some company will be good. I do this every time Nathan is away and I always end up cranky by the end of it, but only for two months, it can't be that bad, surely!

I'm not sure about swimming post ear inf.... I prob would go, but then I'm always a bit blasee (spelling...!) about those things and Monkey has only ever had one ear inf so I'm not an expert!! I think he should be ok if you don't put him under.....

This virus has really knocked me around - I'm calling it the Contiki virus, 'cos its like the germs are on a Contiki trip - they seem to party on in one location for a day or 2 then travel to the next location!!!! I was feeling a bit better on Wed in the day and was glad I went to work then by Wed night all of a sudden I lost my voice!!! Still no voice but all other symptoms gone, so at least I don't feel crap. Can't go to work tomorrow though, as my job involves talking pretty much all day.

Monkey has been sharing with the dog too - bit of biscuit for me, bit for you..... she hasn't eaten the food yet, as Tilly eats outside. But Monkey is also a big fan of eating dirt and sand at any possible opportunity - I'm with Tash, its all immunity building!! Poor Tobi with the cigarette though, yuck.

Not sure if I mentioned the other day - I got AF back. I have been pleasantly surprised too that its not heavy either - just back to my normal, which is actually embarassinly light (only use "light / mini" products and only last 3 days max) - YAY.

Monkey said pig and birdie in the bath tonight while we were reading her farmyard bath book - she tried cow, but it came out more like puppy and sheep was just way too hard!
