Daylight savings hasn't kicked in yet in WA (yep we are backwards over here). INtersted to hear how you are all dealing with it though and for some tips
I agree the mornings are so hard I am still an hour behind. Luckily the boys seem to have adjusted well and Sophie is sleeping well and not waking until 7-8am lovely. I can't seem to go to sleep before 10.30-1130pm though.
I seem to be more disorganised as she gets older maybe if I got up before they did I would be more organised he he next year I will I will have to
Have a great day everyone
Daylight saving isn't too bad for us as DS used to go to bed at 6 pm and wake at 6 am, this has now changed to 7 pm and 7 am which is great!!! I finally get to sleep in a little!
Love your new photo Karlie! DD loves her brother heaps by the looks of it!! And happy 8 months Jake!!
Jacki - Happy 8 months to Luke too!!!
Jasper is 8 months now too and just went through a wonder week. It is amazing how much they can change going through a week like that. All of a sudden he stays up for 3 hours at a time (2 daysleeps), developed the pincher grip, is shuffling around 360 degrees and backwards; all those changes in a weeks time! He really has changed into a little boy in no time!
He also starts to like his solids; he has apple with his yoghurt now and yesterday I gave him a bread crust and he nearly ate all of it (except the last bit which got a bit small for him to hold) and then proceeded to pick up the little crumbs of the table with his thumb and forefinger! I couldn't believe my eyes!! My baby is growing up....
Hi to everyone else!!! I always lose track when we change threads.... Have a good day!!!
Hi guys! Well, we are back from our little holiday and had a good but challenging time with DD getting a bit sick of travelling some long distances. For those that asked, the town we are looking at moving to is called Warrnambool. It's really pretty and we are almost definitely moving there in the next 6-8 weeks or so, just waiting for the job offer to be finalised. Hopefully we settle in ok there, as it is a big move!
sue - DD also sits up pretty well but occasionally flips backwards which has resulted in a pretty big head bash once, so we leave a pillow behind her too. She has also started to circle around and roll to get anywhere she wants, but no crawling yet.
jen - woohoo on Amber's tooth, how exciting! We still have no teeth here, despite me constantly thinking that they are on the way!
esme - DD does the same thing - desperate to crawl but seems to get her legs under her and move a lot more in her cot than on the floor! DD also moves all the time, always flapping rocking or doing something!
jacki - I had my CHN appointment yesterday and the nurse said a lot of babies aren't saying a lot at this age. DD is chatty as ever, but I think it's usual for girls to be more vocal than boys, so I wouldn't worry about it. I have no idea how much DD weighs as the scales were broken, but I would love to know!
Bun Warrnambool is a pretty place. On the beach and has most things you need. Welcome to Victoria by the way
Esme- was it you asking about BF and teeth? Well I can certainly feel her tooth when she feeds but because the tooth hasnt come out yet, it isnt really causing a problem just yet.
Amber said Bubba on Saturday, spent Sunday practicing it to herself by whispering it constantly. She now says it a bit and we even got a Dad Dad out of her today
I was all set for a long post but DD calls. Sorry and will be back later
Sue, Im tired in the morning's coz I cant go to bed earily. The sun is waking me at around 7 am, but I dont get to bed till 11ish.
Esme. Wow it wierd how fast they change. Jakes sitting in the back yard while I peg out the washing. In 2 seconds time his chocking on a flower he had pick from the garden. I dont know how he reached the flower so far away, but he did. Thanks for the nice comment. Tara loves Jake, but only when his not touching her stuff.lol.
Minky, gee your son looks so old now. Has he had a hair cut?
Bun, I go to Warrnambool now and again. Its near Port fairy where we go on Summer holidays. Its going to be hard coz the shopping is not as good as Brissy. At least Melbourne is not to far away. I know all the shopping in Warrnambool coz I use to work there on and off in the shopping centre. I recon it would be a great place to live. Not too busy, the way I like it.
Jen, did you see the price's on the gear on the PP online store? $8 swimmers up to $23. They will drop in price again slowly.
Son has started to cry through that post, so I hope you can understand what I have typed.lol. It's hard to think straight with him crying in the background.
Almost the weekend again.
It looks like great weather today.
Catch you later
Im going to have a look on facebook while I can.
Karlie

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. How nice is it to be able to go outside in the sun.
I am not sure what is going on with my DD. She will only have 100mls to drink when she was having the whole 200ml, she is not eating clamps her mouth shut and shakes her head ( he he very cute ) and is waking twice overnight because she is hungry AAAARGGGGHHHH.
She has cut her top canines but not her front two teeth and I think the bottom two canines are on the way through. But i can't get the bonjela in her mouth as she clamps her mouth so tightly!!
We went out for lunch yesterday and she wouldn't eat or drink anything while we were out. She fell asleep on the way home and then slept for another hour when we got home. On the plus side the boys had a ball running all over the place and on the playground. I on the other hand am completely exhausted just getting them ready to go out at the moment is exhausting -- they get really excited and then run around like headless chooks.
Sue - sorry to hear that DD is off her food a bit! Could she be too distracted to feed? I notice with Jasper that his day feeds are getting shorter and shorter especially on the weekends when DP is around. He is just way too busy to keep drinking! But if she doesn't eat her solids... LOL, very cute the head shaking! Hopefully she'll be back to her normal self soon. Love your new pic by the way, she is so cute!
Karlie- it is so hard to think straight when they are crying; even when you know they are just whinging. I find it especially hard to concentrate on driving when he does it in the car!
Jen - Jasper has started to say bubba too! so cute. He tries his hardest when there are adults talking all around him. I think I might have to make a bit more of an effort to talk to him when we are home. But there is only so much googoogaga I can handle before I go gaga!
Bun - Warnambool sounds great! will be so nice to have a beach close by! I basically grew up on the beach and miss it a lot now we live in the middle of NSW! How is DD going with her solids? Still happy with booby juice? Jasper is improving a little even though there is not much variation in what he eats.
Minky - The look of concentration is priceless! And you know when they go quiet all of a sudden that it is time to check on what they are doing; Jasper is either picking up fluff from the carpet and trying to eat it, or he did a spew and is wiping it everywhere, LOL!!!
DS had a go at my banana yesterday and actually ate some, but he doesn't seem to like it mashed. I don't like to give it too him whole, so might have to keep trying mashed. Still not eating veges... I have some sweet potato in the fridge so might give that a go at lunchtime. He is on three meals a day now; yoghurt and apple for breakfast and tea and rice cereal/oats and apple for lunch. So far not much luck with other foods.
Geez....I just can't keep up with you all in here. I know I haven't posted anything worthwhile for a long time so I will try a little update here.
Zoe is 7.5 months old and is a tiny, gorgeous little thing. She was weighed yesterday and she came in at a whopping (?) 5.7kgs!! heh heh. She is off the bottom of the scale for weight, but her length and head measurements are all pretty normal. She is just a real Skinny Minny!! She is BF'ing four times a day and eating three solid meals a day. She eats pretty much anything i give her....except avocado. I keep trying her on it cos I love it, but she just refuses!
We have been jet-setting all over the place which is one of the reasons I have lost track of you guys for a while. We spent two weeks in Singapore with Mum (Prama - i used the mozzie wipes only when we went out in the evening...i figured they'd be ok if i used them only a few times). Then we were home for a week and a half and then we headed up to Canberra to see Dad for a week and a bit. Got home on Monday night and am happy for it. It was nice spending time with my parents but it's quite draining too.
Zoe can sit up really well on her own but I am surrounding her with cushions for the occasional fall.
She is still sleeping for very short times during the day (20-60 minutes at a time) but going for 11-12 hours overnight.
No teeth yet (nor any sign of them).
All in all, she is generally a happy little baby which is great.
Good to hear that all of you are doing well. Bun, I hope the move to Vic goes well....Warrnambool will be lovely, but it is going to be SERIOUSLY COLD in Winter!!! Be prepared!!!
I'll hopefully keep a bit more up-to-date in here from now on (it's hard when Zoe sleeps for such short spells!).
Hi danda, good to hear from you again. It sounds like you have been busy but it must have been great to spend some time with your family. We are pretty excited about moving to warrnambool, but yes, it is going to be soooo cold! The wind was freezing when we were there the other week, so we are definitely going to have to stock up on some serious winter clothes before we head over there!! Glad to hear DD is doing so well, she sounds like a very happy healthy little bub.
esme - he he, DD has also started picking up little bits of fluff and putting them in her mouth. It seems no matter how often I clean up, she still manages to find some fluff from somewhere! I have given up on making DD feed from a spoon, as she just won't do it! I just let her feed herself with pieces of banana, bread, cheese, rockmelon, watermelon, milk arrowroots and peas and other veggies. I can still sometimes sneak in a few mouthfuls of a puree when she opens her mouth to shove in some banana or something, but she is starting to cotton on to it so it doesn't always work! She still loves her booby juice, but I have started only giving her 4 BFs a day and three solid meals.
sueby - is DD eating again now? I have had days like that with Catherine and am not ever sure what the problem is. I hope she is back to normal now.
2 please - hopefully Warrnambool will be nice, we think it looks like a good size too so hopefully we will be happy there. The shopping in Melbourne is way better than at home so I am looking forward to spending the weekend there every now and then. Luckily we have family there that we can stay with, so it should be fun!
jen- thanks for the welcome to Vic! We are still not sure when we will be moving, but probably soon, it will be nice to live in a different state for a while. That is cute DD saying bubba! Catherine can say a few things now - dad dad, num num, mum mum and other babble but her fave thing at the moment is blowing raspberries. She has done that for ages, but is now really getting into it and ends up spitting everywhere!!
I think DD must be teething - she has been a bit unsettled lately and couldn't sleep the other night which is unlike her these days, plus she is drooling everywhere!! She is also getting pretty close to crawling now - she gets on all fours and rocks and sometimes gets on her hands and feet but is yet to actually move anywhere yet!
Doing well here...Noah is cutting four teeth instead of the two I think I mentioned before! Now his top two are coming through too!
Danda, wow you have been busy! How was Zoe with all of the flights?
Bun, I hope your move goes smoothly when you end up moving! It would be nice to live in another state, just for something different !!
Esther, Noah loves his banana too! Lately he has been having watermelon as well, but its soooo messy..lol..
Sue, how has DD been this weekend with her food/bottles? Noah has moments too when he wont drink all of his bottle, he carries on like a pork chop and moves his head away etc..it sure is frustrating!
Karlie, I chop off Noahs curls...lol..so thats why he looks like he has had a haircut, it just looks tidier without them..lol..
Jen, oh thats so cute that Amber has started to say bubbub and dadad !
Well....where did THAT weekend go???????? To top off our recent travels we went to Bendigo (country Vic) to visit DH's family on the weekend. Drove up on Sunday morning, had morning tea with Uncle and Aunt and then went for lunch at Zoe's Great Gramdma's place and got home at about 6pm. Talk about a whirlwind. We were out at a BBQ all day Saturday too...Luckily we have a spa in our backyard so after Zoe went to bed last night, DH and I ate F&C's and lounged in the spa for over an hour!! It was a lovely end to another busy weekend!
Bun - Zoe was great on all those flights. The flights were all in the daytime and since Zoe doesn't like sleeping in the day, I did have to spend a lot of time trying to entertain her, but she is generally happy so there wasn't too much grizzling. One lady behind me took her for anout 30 minutes which was nice. I just sat and chatted to her and her daughter while she had Zoe, but at least it wasn't me wrestling with the wriggly worm!!!
I am taking Zoe swimming for the first time today. Don't know what I am going to do about a swim nappy....i have one but it's for babies 7kg+ and Zoe isn't even close!!!! heh heh!!
I am also going back to THE GYM tonight for the first time since a few months before Zoe was born. I am starting to feel like a tired blob. I need to regain a little fitness so I can get back some energy!
Danda -- SO jealous about your spa -- must be fabulous. Hope you have fun swimming with Zoe must look into classess for DD.
Minky -- DD has been a bit better with her bottles since her top two teeth and bottom canines cut through!!! No wonder she didn't want to eat anything or let me poke my finger in her mouth. She is however waking around Midnight for a bottle and then again around 6, and then doesn't want to go back to sleep thanks very much. She is eating a lot better and is having 3 meals now cereal in the morning, yoghurt/ sandwich for lunch and vegies and fruit for tea!! Thanks for asking.
Enjoy the Gym, I am planning on hitting the treadmill as I have put on weight and am also feeling blah.
Bun -- hi. Yes DD is back on track now. We are getting weighed tomorrow so we will see how heavy she is. Warnambool is a great spot good luck moving.
Esme -- Hi. Thanks we think she is pretty gorgeous.
Hi to Karlie, Jenjams, Jacki and Prama where are you.
