Hey Maz - do you think you could put your eyeballs back in before next Tuesday? My mate is going up to Shepp and I'm tagging along with Billy. We're going to stay up there the night and come back Wednesday. Just don't know if I'd cope meeting a chick with no eyeballs. Would kinda freak me out...

Jess, pmsl, poor kids and their bald heads. Billy's was peeling too. Put olive oil on it mate, it worked fantastically! His is all better. I have also been putting a bit in his bath. It's awesome.

Jo - ha ha... DJ BTK! Sounds alright, doesn't it?

Oh, I just sent Mary a text about a CD I bought for Billy but maybe you guys are interested too. It's called Baby Dreaming. I bought it at Baby Bunting but I've seen it in other stores. It's just a classical lullaby. I set it on repeat. In fact, I'm sure the CD player is going to blow up as it stays on nearly all day. I don't know if it helps him sleep or not but he's fairly good at self settling so who knows. As I said to Mary, it puts me to sleep!

Right, that's it for me. I've typed enough today.

Wishing you all a very good sleep and lovely, settled bubs.

    Night night.

    hi ladies!!

Have had a couple more smiles so I'm sure now that they are the real thing. Yay!! I was so tired this morning and just didn't want to get out of bed when Amy started crying so Mark said he'd get up and give her a cuddle. I got up 15 min later (that's all i needed!) and Mark had made her a bottle and started feeding her! I felt terrible (bad mum moment) but good at the same time cos Mark got to spend some time with her. He was lucky enough to get a really big poo to change too. He said he was dry retching....i said she does several of those a day but cos he's been working so much he hasn't seen one! They're a lot worse now she's on formula! hehhehe. I'm still trying to breast feed but my bbs aren't filling up as much so I think we will be full formula before 12 weeks. Every time I go to clinic I feel so jealous of the mums who can breast feed and who are complaining about they're milk squirting all over their bub's face cos they aren't latching quick enough. I never had that! I'm glad I got to bf a little though.....but bf is one of those thiings that ONLY a mum can do. Oh well, I'll get over it.....

Jess - I hope you get into the doc's soon you poor thing and hope you feel better soon x

Mary - Amy will only sleep if I put her to bed when she's reeeeeallly drowsy. If I put her down too soon she wakes up and has even started following me with her eyes to the door so I can't sneak out anymore!!!!! Hehehehe. It can sometimes take a lot of cuddling to get her to that stage....that's pretty much the only way I can get her like that. Sometimes she might fall asleep in the baby carrier but then I have to wake her to get her out and wrap her. Amy needs to be wrapped to sleep in her cradle.....she sleeps ok in the stroller......might try eventually to put her down unwrapped but it's good cos it keeps her warm......and stops her from wacking herself in the face. Seriously, I put in a long time cuddling Amy before I put her down so don't think you're alone. It is sooooo hard when they won't sleep during the day though. I really feel for you xxxx you know they're tired but they just won't go down. It's soooooo frustrating! I'm sorry I don't have any tips cos it sounds like you've tried everything! I sit on our exercise ball and bounce up and down and that really works a treat, if you haven't tried that!?

Kate - yay on the medicare card! Ours didn't take too long although when I changed my name when we got married it took freakin forever!!! Still waiting on the birth registration bit of paper though. Has anyone else got that back yet? that's great about Billy's weight!!!! Cooly is only 15 min away from where I live! That would be cool if you came up to visit :-) we could have a play date

Maz - sounds like your little man is coming along in leaps and bounds. I'd fall on the floor if Amy put on that much weight in a week and would jump for joy! hope your eyeballs reel themselves in soon xxx

Jo - I would looooooove to have a cleaner! We've got a small house but it still seems to take forever to clean! It never blo'ody ends!

Amy's been a bit congested the past few days. It seems to only be in one nostril though (that's where all the boogers are anyway). We bought some Fess little noses and have elevated her bed. It doesn't seem to be bothering her too much and she can still feed just fine but it sounds awful. I hope it goes away soon. Mark's mum has been sick for two weeks now and hasn't been able to come visit. It's killing her but to be honest it hasn't been that bad for me! Isn't that a terrible thing to say!? I'm just dreading her coming when she's better cos she's going to be totally over the top and probably cry and want to hold Amy for hours just so she doesn't 'forget' her nana. Geez. Every time I speak to her and say that Amy's a little unsettled MIL says "she's missing her nana". Yeah whatever you say. Hehehe.

Ok I'm gonna go and take advantage of Amy having a little nap. Chat soon lovely ladies xx Luv Nik and Amy xx

TMI alert but DH and I DTD and it didn't hurt! So it only took 8 weeks for my episiotomy to heal properly! Yay!!!! Felt a little weird still but I'm so relieved. Have heard so many stories of it taking months and months to be able to do it again. Sorry, just thought I'd let you know that there is hope! Hehehehe. One word of advice though, lube is a godsend. breastfeeding hormones combined with the herbs I'm taking (anti-aphrodisiac!) does not make for a feel good down there combination!! Heheheh.

Oh my goodness....my turn for a novel today. Actually typing with two hands (Amy's in her carrier) makes a big difference! Hehehehe. Am off to one of my best friend's places for a mummy's morning tea. Really looking forward to it! How funny is it, one of my belly buddies from Feb thread turned out to be my friend's neighbour! Small world! Am meeting her today :-)

    Luv Nik and Amy

Nik- Know what u mean about the MIL's!! Mine rang DH last week & can you believe this!? She asked him if he could stay with her one day & night! I couldn't believe it. He's only 7 wks old there is no way I would let him out of my sight...I couldn't believe it anyway. Does that make me too over protective?? I just think when they're this young they need their mummies --- & we need them,! LOL. But we're going over to redcliffe Sunday & we'll leave Jackson & maybe Cara too if she wants with the oldies for a few hrs. Thats the best we can do! I was saying to Dh that I will be watching carefully that Grandma doesn't fob off our girl in favour of the new bub! She is very sensitive & will pick up on it. I actually watched My MIL do this when Cara was a baby with one of Caras cousins who was about 3 at the time. And I didn't like it then. thought it was a bit mean!

nik - yer ive had a few smiles, havent managed to get any on camera yet though lol... he fully grinned at me yesti, was so cute, big gummy smile haha AWW
    YAY on DTD lol!

carol - nope i feel that way about jaylen too, wont even leave him with mum for any amount of time, didnt even like anyone holding him for the 1st week or 2 lol

OMG the bedtime bath soooo works, jaylen was really awake b4 and i thought i might give him a bath cuz he didnt have 1 yesti, and then i thought i might use the bedtime bath to see what it was like, and i dried him, dressed him and he fell asleep in my arms and didnt even stir when i put him down !
and i gave him a bottle last night b4 bed to see if it would make him sleep longer and he slept about an extra hour so that was good... but then i breastfed him when he woke up at 3 and he finished at about 3.30 and he was awake again at 5.30.... grr he sleeps so much better on formula the last few days...

well im going to make the most of jaylen sleeping too lol..

OH, TMI, but im taking agarol for constipation, yess still got it lol...but its not working... nearly died this morn on the toilet i reckon does anyone know what else i can take? something from the chemist without a perscription cuz i cant get into docs till nxt week

Carol - There is NOOOOOOOO way I would leave Amy with MIL and she's a midwife! I don't care how much she begged, there is just no way. I'm still in the honeymoon period where I don't want anyone else to have her yet. She's my baby and doesn't need to be confused by being left at someone else's house. the best I've done is left Amy sleeping at home while MIL was there and I popped down to the shops for an hour. Don't worry, you definitely aren't being overprotective, just a normal mummy.

Jess - I've heard that Nulax bars work. They are natural and some people swear by them. You can just get them at woolies or coles etc and they're pretty cheap. Might be worth a try......or pears! they stopped me from getting constipated all through pregnancy but I don't really like them now.....

Just got back from the morning tea. Don't know why but I got in a cranky mood while I was there. I felt like I couldn't relax cos Amy was really restless and I just wanted to come home and put her down for a sleep. Isn't that terrible!? Next time I might bring her stroller in and make her sleep in that........i think she was overstimulated cos as soon as I got home I wrapped her and it only took 5 min to settle her and get her to sleep!

well, am gonna go have a nap myself (hopefully!). i think i'm addicted to this website......it's like phoning friends for a chat xx Nik and Amy (2 months today oh my!)

Well we went to our 6week check up this morning and TMI but i'm all healed so we can start DTD again whenever i feel ready woohoo haha, plus i got the injection done instead of taking the pill because i have a memory like a colander plus i'd prefer it anyway.

Well OMG Sophie weighs 4600grams now shes put on 510grams in a WEEK!!, she was 4090grams last week and shes grown from 51.5cm to 55cm since last thursday. The burse said shes bang on target as far as the graphs go, no wonder shes been feeding heaps. TMI Having my pap smear done in 2 weeks as i had to book into have it done couldnt be done today.

Sophie's having a good day she did a poo before that was a little harder than usual so going to try and give her some cooled boiled water between her feeds.

QUESTION: how often is Sophie allowed to have cooled boiled water??

Nik- nice novel. Believe me if you guys ever come here you'll understand why we have a cleaner come in every fortnight. Thanks for sharing your TMI about DTD, Chris has been ancy for a couple of weeks now and hes been very grumpy for the last few days but i wanted to wait until after our 6 week check up.

Jess- i was taking metamucil to help prevent constipation, maybe give that a go you can buy a little tub/jar from coles/woolies/chemist etc.

Kate- nice one of the long sleep Sophie slept 5hrs last night. How did your 6week check up go?. I didnt get to see Sophie when she had the hearing test done as Chris took her down as the midwife was seeing to me but he said she looked so cute i wish now he'd taken a photo.

Going to finish my lunch and find something constructive to do bbl

Crikey, you girls are hard to keep up with...

Cant remember who said what so I will just comment on it all:

Celeste puts herself to sleep in the daytime pretty well usually. I always feed her first thing when she wakes then change her and have playtime. I watch out for the sleepy signals then change her if its been a while and after a quick cuddle I just put her in her hammock and swing it a bit and walk out of the room. She sometimes goes straight to sleep but its not unusual for her to lie there for 20mins just looking at her hands or the mobile and having a chat to herself. The last few days she hasnt slept well in the day but that is because she has a cold. She has been waking after 10 or 15mins and been a bit grizzly.

You girls and your babies weight gains.. far out! What a champion group of growers!!! Make me jealous why dont you? hehehe. I guess we all have those things that we worry over: either wishing we could BF, or that bubs would sleep better, or put on more weight, or smile or whatever... For me personally its the whole vag birth thing. I think thats the one that makes me jealous. Isnt it funny that even though we all have these beautiful babies who are doing so well, we wish for that little bit more? Seems so wrong to me really. KWIM? Like I should just be so damn thankful that I have this beautiful healthy girl and she sleeps and feeds like a dream, has a fab personality etc and here I am getting all sad over something I have no control over! It is in the past for crying out loud!

OK, got that out of my system: SORRY everyone!!!!

About the water: I only just started offering it to Celeste after a full feed once a day or so. She wasnt really interested yesterday but I think the teat was too small so today I gave her the number 2 avent and she drank around 20ml water. We had been out to do the shopping with her in her carrier and she got so hot in there pressed against me for that hour or so that I thought she might need that bit extra... what are you all doing with that?

For those BF: are your bras still fitting? I bought maternity ones I thought had heaps of room in them while pg and they did fit quite well for a while but lately I have been bursting out of them! They are ok in the body but not in the important bit. Also, when I sleep after a feed and my boobs are empty they kind of flop out of the middle and then the breast pad isnt inthe right place so I leak everywhere as they fill. Any tips??????

Gotta tell you my story of Celeste and her feeding sense of humour. She has started this thing where after she has had that frantic hungry part of the feed and she has settled into it a bit more she starts pausing between sucks and, while looking at my face goes "hhmmmmm, hmmmmm" then starts sucking again. Like she is saying how much she is enjoying herself, soooo cute! Also if she has dropped off the boob in that drunk kind of way with her eyes closed but still awake I will tickle her mouth and nose with my nipple and say "do you want some more?" in a funny way. She will keep her eyes and mouth closed but give me a big cheeky smile!!!! cracks me up!!!!!

Meant to tell you about my mothers group on tuesday. It was great!!! It is a 5week thing run but the child nurse with a bit of a topic each week but is mostly designed to get a group of new mums to set up their own social gatherings for after the 5weeks is up. The ladies are awesome and although I have seen most of them around town before, we wouldnt get together socially if it hadnt been set up for us. I highly recomend them if you want to meet others!

Well, should go do something constructive... or else start my scrapbooking album for Celeste. Which do you think I will choose? hehehe

    Hello to all!!!!!!

PS, thanks for looking at my pics, I think she is pretty cute also. I have tried to look at everyones photos here but havent got around to you all yet. So far everyones baby is BEAUTIFUL

oh just realised my previous post might look like I was having a go at people for telling us things that they are worried about or wish were different. I TRUELY WASNT!!! We all want the best for our babies so it is natural that we want everythign to go perfectly. Anyway, wanted to clear that up: not b!+ch!n/ at anyone!!!
