April, I'm not returning to work I'm getting Madeleine weighed today too, HAPPY 3 MONTHS MADELEINE!!! She was around 7kgs at 9 weeks!

Lune, sorry I can't offer any advice, Madeleine is a formula fed Bub and has been since 2 weeks.

Madeleine actually slept through from 9.30pm until 6.00am last night. Hmmm....all this past week she's been waking for a 3.00am feed. Before that, she was sleeping through for weeks. I feel so energised today!

    Have a great day everyone.

    Bindy and Madeleine xx

    Hi ladies,

I didn't realise I hadn't posted in here for so long! It's been busy! Have had a couple of not so good days with Amy. She's really grizzly and doesn't seem to be eating as much as she was. Apparently they reduce the amount they eat at about 3 months but I just wish she would eat more! But I just have to accept that she's eating what she wants to. I'm such a worry wart. She has a lot of happy time but then it's like someone flicks a switch and all of a sudden she gets really cranky. I've tried to watch for tired signs but always seem to get it wrong! Maybe once in every four times I'll get it right. this motherhood thing is tough! Hehehehe. But hey, it can't be peachy pie all the time can it!? She's been waking up at 4am lately and I have to settle her back to sleep. It's very tiring but I refuse to feed her then because I know that she's not hungry. Most of the time it's because she's managed to wriggle out of her wrap. I wonder when she'll be able to sleep without being wrapped.....i bought her a sleeping bag yesterday but it's a bigger size for winter. Anyway, enough from me.....

kokomo - welcome to you and Claire! Your little girl is one day younger than my Amy! This thread is great. A lot of us have been together through belly buddies so we can talk a lot sometimes! That's great you have the option to go back part time. My old job is in Brisbane and I don't want to commute so we're going to try to do the one income thing for as long as possible.

Bindy - I'd love to never go back to work but unfortunately the mortgage calls! Hehehehe. Am going to have as long as we can afford off though. Don't want to leave my little girl! I hope the 3am feed has finished for you! Ick.

Sazz - thanks for the reassurance. I'm not too worried but you do think about it when everyone else's bubs start doing things so early!!

Tascha - so glad your bbs have healed and Joshua is doing well :-)

Mary - I've heard those swings are really great. I'm tempted but don't want to spend anymore money!! Heheheh. Great you and DH got to have some quality time.

April - Thanks!! She does have heaps of hair and it seems to be getting thicker! I thought it was supposed to fall out! Bodie looks so big now and so handsome! I can't believe our bubs are over three months now.

lunesoleil - I love the name Amelie. Just beautiful. Don't worry about weight gain. Amy has never put on a lot of weight and she seems so happy all the time (except of course when she's tired or hungry!). She's only put on a lot of weight in one week since she was born. One week she only put on 90g and I was in tears in the clinic....but the next week she put on 470g! Bubs continuously test us but as long as she's happy she's fine. Honestly, if I never had Amy weighed I would assume she was fine. She's just not a big eater and she's ALWAYS wriggling and moving around so burning a lot of calories. That's how I explain it anyway. Plus Mark and I aren't big people either.....it can be genetic too.....I totally understand how you feel xx (Amy's part BF and part FF and STILL doesn't put on a huge amount of weight!! I had issues with my supply from the beginning....defective bb's!! Hehehe).

Ok, I'm going to have a cuppa with my DH now. Then we're going to see a friend in Brisbane! Hopefully Amy sleeps for the drive. Chat soon ladies! Luv Nik and Amy xx

Thanks NikW! Too many job options are confusing. In reality I should just stay home and enjoy being with my bub. But I figure if I go back part time, in the long run I can have more time off.... (even if at part time) the choices do my head in!! Good luck with the one income thing - it's definitely a struggle in this day and age, but so worth it to have the extra time with bubs

    Hi Everyone,

I finally got around to posting in this forum... plenty of excuses one being a bub who at 8 weeks still wants boobs every 2 hours except overnight.

Iwill be a SAHM until our family is finished unless something happens that necessitates me returning to work. fingers crossed that day doesnt come.

Bryce is a real cutie. He grows about 1cm and one pound each week! no wonder he is always hungry. He has a nice little temper on him too. He sleeps realy happily in his hammock but we wrap him up to sleep otherwise he sucks at his hands and wakes up. He keeps escaping from most of the wraps i have - even the huge ones, so mum and i are designing one that is more escape proof. I was going to use a ribbon tie like on the mamatoto site but am worried about it sliding up and getting around his neck. I will have to look up grobags to see if they have sleeves.

I didn't know babies got teeth at this age. I amm not looking fwd to that as i am having to reteach Bryce proper boob attachment. He had started clicking when he nursed, and would end up full of wind. I didn't figure it out until yesterday, so i have had to latch him on and off until we get it right. Lots of fun at 3 this morning as i had to turn on the light to get it right and he thought it was playtime. 90 mins later ....

Builders are getting closer to finishing our house. <The kitchen people shouldbe installing it in 3 weeks. woo hoo. I will be so glad to be able to move in as we have been shuffling between the shed, mums house and mil's house. I swear I have moved house 6 times since he was born. It will be worth the wait though.

Sorry for the essay. Everyones bubs look gorgeous. I have started a babysite for Bryce. I will try to put the link in my signature. Otherwise you can go to the babysite webpage and type in Bryce Pritchard. His hospital and first week pics are up... am i a slacker or what!

    Hi everyone!

Loren, welcome back! Glad things are going so well. Adeline feeds 2-3 hrly daytimes too. She is a catnapper (30min sleeps) all day, but sleeps well overnight. Always waking for 1 feed.

Welcome lunesoleil, I have to say I also love the name Amelie. It was one of my absolute favourites but DH said it sounds too french for him. Adeline is a family name. We are bfing, and have shortened our feeds to about 15mins each boob, hugs on 1 hour feeds still. I think Addy has become so much more efficient. She has been putting on about 200g per week, but I think we are having our 12 week growth spurt at the moment cause her clothes are suddenly all tight. I have to get her weighed again soon. She was 6.1kg at 10weeks. by the way, loved the typo on "bum gaining weight". Also have that problem!!!!

As for work, I am lucky to have paid mat leave- half pay till May, then I am taking another 6 months unpaid, then will re-evaluate how I am feeling in regards to going back to work parttime. I think I will go casual and try 1-2 shifts a week.

    Anyway, hugs to all
    Mary
