    Hey everyone!

Hey Nik, glad you had such a great b-day!
Didn't know the first few months where so difficult for you
Sanders hair is growing back now, so he has this weird mix of short and long, light and dark.
We definately want another bub, but I wanna wait untill Sander is 1 year old and hopefully can walk, as I had sore back last pregnancy and i am not looking forward to having to carry Sander around whilst being pregnant. The newborn period doesn't scare me at all, accept the humungus lack of sleep (still going). I am more in serious shock about how big he's getting already!! Where did my little bitty boy go?? I am getting him measured and weight next wednesday (yikes!! Needles too!) and I am sure he's about 7.5 kilo's/ 66 odd cm as he was 6820 gram and 62cm 5 weeks ago. He no longer fits in h?s pram and we already had to upgrade him to a jogger!
he's also teething (no sign of the buggers tho, just heaps of chewing, drooling and crankyness!)
Thank God breastfeeding is going really well over here. Except for him throwing up heaps (he's taking in too much air I think as he doesn't throw up as much after a bottle)
Hopefully we can do it at least untill he's 6 months (both dh and I have some allergies) but I already know I will miss our feeds .

so I was sad saturday, when I had to upgrade Sander from pram to jogger he;s growing up way to fast for me! Time just flies by and it feels like I didn't take enough time to enjoy him when he was really tiny! Think I was just doing what I thought I was supposed to instead of dropping everything and just enjoy him. Makes me really sad. I mean this time is wonderfull too, and I am soo proud of him, but their only tiny for such a short time..

Does anyone else have these moments when the responsibilty for another person seems almost overpowering?? I can just all of a sudden think: OMG how am I going to do all this?? Can I give him a stable family? When I was a kid I always thought that when you're all grown up, you'll have everything figured out, no more insecurities. Boy am I in for a big suprise! I am suposed to be all grown up but the insecurities didn;t budge!
It can really freak me out sometimes. Luckily it comes in waves tho

OMG I just wrote a novel and was very selfish!

Sorry everyone! I hope everything is going well and I will be less selfish next time I promise.

OMG i havent been on here for over a week, god i'm a slack @r$e arent i? wait dont answer that

Sophie had her immunisations done on friday and she had no reaction to them so that was good. Sophie & Billy were 4months old on Saturday woohoo!!!!. Got Sophie weighed and measure 2 weeks ago (cant remember if posted it or not) and she was 6.2kgs, 60cm long & her HC was 40cm so she's probably caught back up to the 50% line. Not ever going back to the health nurses they just dont make me feel like a good mother and i'd prefer to go to a chemist or the dr and get her weighed & measured. The dr was most impressed with Sophie's alertness & responses.

Chris locked the keys in the hilux on sunday afternoon so we had to wait 2.5hrs for the guy to show up to open the 1/4 window reach in grab the keys and unlock the car, and by that stage i had an over hungry over tired baby who was cold. RACQ didnt care we had a 4month baby who was due for a feed (i know Chris' silly fault for locking the keys in the car but christ have a heart!), so Chris is either ringing or writing to the RACQ to complain because they said they were sending someone local and they ended up sending a guy from the otherside of Brisbane.

Sorry for the selfish post but i do read the daily emails otherwsie i would be WAY behind and have no idea what was going on in here.

Oh Kate sorry again for my phone ringing you last night Chris didnt check the keypad was locked before he stuffed it in his pocket as i had my hands full with Sophie and yeah........ it rang you and then Chris told me off like a 5yr for not locking the keypad i said good on you d***head i dont normall stuff my phone in my pocket so no need to lock the keypad.

Ok i'll go back to hiding in the corner now......................

    Good morning everyone!
I will try and type as much as I can before she wakes!
My parents are here for a week, just got back from overseas- they saw Addie for 1 week at the end of January so she has grown big time!

Lots of activity on here this week, hello to everyone who has posted- Maz, Kate, Jen, Jo, QueenMab, Madelon, Karen and anyone I missed.

Some tough times for Karen to you on the BF issues. I am still fully BF Addie, she actually refuses the bottle on the occasions I am away. I can fully understand your pain, I would feel so sad and disappointed to stop BFing, I really love it. But you have to do whats best for Frankie and yourself. I hope you come to some peace about your decisions. It sounds like the problems you had with your first boy really still have a major impact on your feeding. So many of the girls have had problems with their feeding and have battled to feed as much as possible and ended up in so much stress. I feel so priveledged and lucky with my feeding, cause reading about everyone one else is so mind opening.

Nik, Not good to hear about your glucose tolerance test- are you being good? SOunds like you are pretty healthy anyway! I would find it so hard to have a low GI, low dessert diet! I have had such an increased sweet tooth since my pregnancy that has not gone away. Re having another bub. Hmm people keep asking me this (Why is that??!!) I think my ideal age gap would be 3 years, I love the idea of Addie being old enough to sort of understand more etc. BUT I dont want to leave it till I am 35 to try again. So I reckon I will try again when Addie is about 18months old. I reckon you have to go with your lifestyle and you have great reasons for trying again soon. I read in Practical Parenting magazine an article in which one mum had 2 bubs close together and one mum had a big age gap and each were equally happy. It also said the the optimal time for our bodies (and minds) to be ready again is 18months after a bub. Food for thought!!

Anyway before this gets too long better sign off.
    Hugs
    Mary
(ps am trying out a new spelling for Adelines nickname- Addie instead of Addy- what do you reckon??)

Mary- Addie/Addy not much different whichever you choose prefer i suppose.

Oh i just check in on what use to be our belly buddies group and it made me sad, because i was pregnant this time last year and didnt even know it.

Nik- "For those of you who are going to have another baby, when are you thinking of starting TTC?" i must be crazy too because i'm already thinking about it too, we'll have 2 maybe 3 all up and i'd like them to be close in age and i's like to stay home longer so i can see the things Sophie does1st hand.

Sophie has been trying for a week to roll from her back to her belly & has mastered it today when i wasnt watching of course

Nik: Good to hear you had a great birthday, I bet you went to Tally creek? hehe I love it there, such a nice spot. No your not crazy about TTC in a few months. Good on you! We aren't ready to try at the moment personally but that's just me & DH. I think we'll wait till Bodie's nearly 2 when we start.

Jo: Bodie has started to roll onto his side and I have found him on his belly once before. Can't believe all the tricks they can do now hehe. Good to hear Sophie didn't have a reaction to the shots. Bodie screamed the place down when he had his, nearly made me cry. He was a little restless a couple of days after but I think that's normal.

Sorry was meant to write more but I accidently clicked on something and it posed it for me!

Jo: Yeah this time last year we were up in QLD on a holiday and I started throwing up with morning sickness! Crazy!

Mary: I think Addie is nice too. hmmmm decisions! I bet your parents got a shock to see Addie all grown up.

Karen: Sorry to hear your having BF troubles. I can't give you any advice sorry as Bodie has been bottle-fed since week 2. Hope you can work something out soon for both you and Francis. I'm sure once you start him with the bottle you'll both get used to it and everything will be fine.

Bodie is 5 months today!!! Can't believe how fast time has gone. One more month and we'll start him on solids, well Farax anyway. How exciting!

    Hi Madelon, Kate & Jen.

April: Nice one on Bodie rolling onto his side, hopefully he keeps going with the rolling. I know its amazing watching them do things especially when they dont think your watching. I was glad to that Sophie didnt react to her shots SIL kept telling me she would have a reaction, but i just kept checking her temperature & had panadol there if needed. After Sophie got her shots done i must have looked like i was going to cry or i lost the colour in my face because the nurse seemed a little concerned about me asked twice if i was ok i dunno. Sophie's been sleeping better during the day since having her shots, sometimes she'd only go down for an hour and wake up for an hour and then go down for 2hours, makes it hard to get things done around the house.

    HAPPY 5MONTHS TO BODIE!!!

Silly weather here in QLD yesterday morning it rained here pretty heavy (it woke me up-tin roof) then it was just overcast all day some rain arounf 10pm last night and this morning it had been raining again and about 10mins ago it started raining again. Wonder what winter will bring considering Autumn felt like winter.

Friends of ours have a 3month old girl and are talking about ttc #2 from december but everytime i bring the topic up with Chris about when we'd like to start TTC #2 he finds something else to talk about. I'm not saying i want to start right now i just want to know what we both think we need to agree.

    Hi all!

Having a nice week with my parents doing lots of cuddling so I get a break (to do housework, washing and other jobs-LMAO!!) They go home tomorrow so I will miss them after that.

Went out shopping today, found the 'bright bots' factory and seconds shop- they have some great bargains! Bought another sleeping bag, towel (she is outgrowing her square baby towels!!) and some swimmers to take up to North Qld next week.

Anyway, Addie hasnt pooped for 6 1/2 days now, and is very irritable. Fun! SHe had her immunisations Tuesday also so maybe partly from that.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Brisbane is in for a wet weekend, so fairly quiet round here.

    Hugs

    Hi girls and bubs,

Yes, I said I'd be here every day. My bad.

Had some pre-cancerous cells removed from my cervix on Wednesday. Seems all went ok. Never had a general anesthetic before... I swear the dr looked like George Clooney! Anyway, other than that, not much else.

Hope you're all great. I'll pop back in after the weekend when I feel better.

    Much love to all.

    Hi everyone!

Kate, hope you are okay! fingers crossed everything will be fine

Hawksey, it's nice spending time with your parents hey. I found I enjoy it more now that I am a mum.

Nik, how's your diet going? I currently have to steer clear of dairy, chocolate and peanuts as Sander might have allergies (he's got eczema pretty bad) and find it really difficult. Had to do it before, as I got food allergies/intolerance after I had glandular fever. I wasn't allowed sugar, cocao, diary and spicy stuff. It was easier than as I had all the side effects. But I grew over it and my sweet tooth returned during the pregnancy and now I really have to try and ignore it! (will be good for my weight tho!)

Well I got Sander weighed and measured last Wednesday and he's a whopping 7730 / 66,5cm. He's like a month a head. He did alright with his shots. Only cried for a minute and than started babbling and laughing, not much of a reaction afterwards either thank god.

Work was really busy and I now enjoy 3 days off! Better start doing some household chores!

I hope everyone is having a relaxed weekend!

    Hey Girls!

Sorry I have been MIA for a while, just slack really.

Hope you are all well, will have to read all the posts and do some catching up!

Madeleine is great, now 10kgs and 5 months old tomorrow, she's now rolling on her own, she won't stay on her back without doing her famous roll. She also imitates us eating which is so funny and cracks us up every time, she'll pretend to be chewing something and have the most serious look on her face. She's also on solids now, enjoys her rice cereal/fruit in the mornings and pumpkin/potato at lunch. Is a big pumpkin fan! Then she'll have some fruit at night. Madeleine is also laughing plenty and generally a happy kid (she has her days though where she is grumpy but they are few and far between HAHAHAHAHAHA). She also has her two bottom teeth too (got them at 4 months old) so they are popping right out now. Sleeping wise, she'll generally have her last feed at 9pm and will sleep through until 7am.

We recently bought her a new high chair, the Steelcraft Messina which looks rather comfy and she loves sitting up in that.

When I went to Mothers Group on Friday, she was playing in Dayl's DS' (Tonydayl is also a member on here and her DS Fraser is same age) Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo. I desperately wanted to buy one and they are $189 and would you believe I got one on ebay yesterday for $100! The seller's DD was only in it for 3 months so it's a bargain!! Madeleine will just love it, so much to entertain her in it!

Nothing much else happening, resigned a couple of weeks ago so will miss my boss but will focus on bringing Madeleine up now and be a SAHM. Oh and I turned 30 in May.

Hope you are all well, ok, will go and read some of your posts now!

Lotsa Love Bindy and Madeleine xx

    Hi Everyone

This is embarrassing, but I read through all your posts and then when I go to post replies I forget most of everyone's names I have a bad memory for names, so I am sorry

So thank you to everyone who replies to my posts and your helpful advise (Mary, Ape23, Bonham, Jenjams, Maz, Nikiw [I think])

I am going to have to get some practice at remembering.

I hope everyone is doing well. I am reading a book at the moment about the natural ways to breastfeeding (I actually think that is what it is called)

Francis is still not rolling over yet, but he likes sucking his fists and sucking on his lower lip. He also likes to be carried around everywhere and we must maintain eye contact with him at all times, as long as we do this he is all smiles...Not much gets done here as you can guess

My partner recorded a new ring tone for my mobile phone....YES Francis crying, I discovered that yesterday!!! Isn't he so thoughtful, now no matter where I go now, I can hear the demanding cuddle me, feed me, just look at me cries of my baby On a positive though it may help with the milk supply everytime someone calls me.

    Love to you all
    Karen

Karen, had to laugh about the ringtone! Reading back on some posts, sorry you are having issues breastfeeding, I had so many issues after the 3rd week and chose to FF so seeing that you are still BF at 3 months is fantastic, well done for sticking with it. As for rolling, Madeleine just started last week and she's almost 5 months old! Have a good afternoon.

    Hi Bindy,

Thank you, I am still struggling, I have been taking medicine to see if that will increase my milk supply and I will watch his weight for next few weeks. I hope he does start to make gains , I was thinking goats milk formula if I have to cross that bridge. I am going to start looking at my diet (Sooooo hard to do) and see if that can help boost my supply as well as giving Francis the best breast milk as possible. At the moment all I am eating is carbs (pasta and rice, because it is quick to prepare and cook) I feel bad that is all poor Francis is getting.

What type of formula is Madeline having? It is exciting that Madeline is rolling, my second and third son took ages to roll over. My first son rolled over at 3 months and then was able to roll back the other way a week later. Now he is sooooo lazy if it wasn't for my partner and I he would sit on the lounge and play his DS lite and watch starwars all day.

I hope you and your Madeline are doing well
    Karen xx

    Hi ladies,

No real updates here. Amy still hasn't rolled. She's so keen to sit up though. She's just got to get her balance worked out. She's starting to test the boundaries too. She chucks a tantrum whenever she doesn't want any more of her bottle now and arches her back and pushes away. Quite funny to watch actually. She's started rubbing her eyes when she's tired which seems to be all the time the past few days. I think she's growing or getting teeth or something cos she's cranky a lot. Really starts to take it's toll by the third or fourth day especially when DH is in a bad mood too. I'm starting to think nobody loves me! :-p

Madelon - I definitely have those overwhelming feelings and insecurities. It's a huge responsibility. Sander sounds like he is growing well.

Jo - yay on Sophie's measurements and rolling!! Woohoo!! This weather is terrible. I'm going stir crazy. Finally got some sun today so I went out straight away for a walk.

Mary - I like Addie. Cute. Hope she's not as grizzly now.

April - Bodie is an oldie now!!! Can't believe how fast it's going. Oh my, he's on solids soon!!!!

Kate - I bet George Clooney made the experience a little more enjoyable. Hope everything is ok

Bindy - Wow Madeleine's got her teeth already! She's a cutie.

Karen - Amy's on S26 Gold and we've never had a problem although a lot of babies can get constipated on it. If you want another option for the bf go see a naturopath that specialises in lactation. I tried the drugs and all they did was give me worse depression (one of the side effects that they failed to tell me about). The tonic that the naturopath gave me worked wonders. It didn't bring my milk back altogether (it was too late for that) but it allowed me to comp feed Amy until 3 months old. It tastes terrible but it's worth it. There are also concoctions that you can make up (Google Tiger's milk) for a protein hit that can apparently improve the quality of your milk. Can't say I'd like Amy's cry on my phone. I hear enough of it as is!! Hehehehehe.

Well, I'm gonna go now. I think I got everyone. Hope all is well xx Luv Nik and Amy

    Hi Nik,

Thanks for the Formula advice I am taking Donperidine (sp?) Is that the one you took? I wasn't told that those meds caused depression, that is terrible. I probably haven't noticed because I am pretty depressed most of the time anyway hehehe

When Francis chucks a little tanty he arches his back, which means he wants to be picked up. He rubs his eyes when he is tired but mostly he cries and moves his arms and legs around a lot and the movements are quite ridged and he hits himself in the face...he just gets very restless really.

Yay Nik - Amy & Scally can be non-rolling buddies hehehe, she just seems to have no desire... why would she when all she has to do is crack it & I roll her onto her back?! Loves her bumbo though, does Amy have one of those? She has also started doing 360s when she has her tummy time & looking like she wants to crawl: pushing her butt up in the air & everything... oh, & you know we love you!! (even if some people... like me.... never bloody post in here anymore!)

Kate, hope you are feeling better, either you got some good drugs in the hossie or some mighty fine doctors lol. Was it you that said they go shopping at DFO somewhere....?! I'm slack I know... I'm still up for a meet up though, we are in the Eastern suburbs atm but 'Have ERGO, can travel' hehe.

Bindy, I keep meaning to ask you, why did you change your username?

Karen, Do you notice any difference in your supply with the medication? I was lucky when I was having issues that stinky fenugreek, & some disgusting chocolate drink (I have a total mind blank... what the hell is that stuff?! It's in an orange tin.... hmmmm....) & increased feeding put me back on track. I hope the meds start to help soon if they aren't already.

Punky has been great the last couple of weeks, just happy & lovely to be around... yay!! Paying me back for not throwing her out the window sometime in her first three months I think hehehe.

Hope everybodies babies are being the sweet little munchkins we all know they can be...
