    PMSL Kate, it's still hilarious!

Wow - My little Pumpkin is 6 months old! Wow. Wow. Did I mention Wow?! Her Daddy is bringing her home a present tonight - he's so excited lol - it's a big red shiny car that bounces & plays music & all that jazz. He saw it last week & wanted it for himself lol.

Punky is loving her high chair - her favourite thing is to just bang the table top as hard as she can - that & chuck anything I give her to play with from a great height!

...as far as opshopping goes - i used to be the QUEEN of opshopping but since Punky came along I haven't been going as it's a bit of a PITA to go with the massive pram & not very exciting for Punky in the ERGO, and I've actually started to cull the years & years worth of cr@p that I've collected - if you knew me you'd never believe that in a million years, hell I can hardly believe it!!! Only saw the highchair as they had it displayed outside & I had to go past to get to the ATM!

Will try to BBL, my big girl wants to play!

We've got Bodie a Fisher Price high chair. My mum has a friend who works at Target and they had this high chair that someone brought back, the box was just damaged, so we ended up getting it for $30! Top that for a bargain! hehe

    Hope your all well.

It was $60 off at Target but the sale ended yesterday - DP had to sweet talk some old lady there this morning lol. Oohparently it's on sale again in a couple of weeks though - maybe when the toy sale starts? Not sure. I know DP would have been devastated if he couldn't have gotten it today, for her unbirthday & all...!

    Hi all!

Great car! Scarlett can sit up great. Addie slumps forward! I bought her a jolly jumper today- its awesome, she loves it so much. Bouncing around and trying to grab the dog!

Swimming lesson this morning, she is having a great time, already she seems pretty relaxed at having her head go under the water.

Had an awful experience at lunch today- went to a cafe, ordered lunch, waited 45 mins and it wasnt busy. When my plate came the underside of the potato cakes were burnt. I mean charcoal, black. I have NEVER taken a plate back before but after 2 mouthfuls where it just tasted burnt, I went and said sorry I cant eat this. The man was SO RUDE. He said its supposed to be like that its cooked in a pan. I said, its overcooked, its burnt and he just said I cant do anything about it, another one would be exactly the same!! (One side was nicely cooked- so he was speaking cr*p) He just handed me my money back (thank God) and turned his back on me. I was flabbergasted. I have never seen anything like it!! I will be telling everyone I know to never go there again.

So thats my day. Lucky Addie was great.

Had a nice walk this afternoon so that was good.

    Anyway have a great weekend!

HAPPY 6MONTHS PUNKY!!, the car looks great.

Glad everyone & their bubs are doing good.

Sophie can stand up with support really well, and she loves sitting on the lounge in the corner IYKWIM, and now that she has her bumbo seat she loves that too. Plus when i put her down on her mat she rolls over straight away onto her belly and then giggles. Sophie has learnt to go backwards done it 3 times in the past week, so proud of her. Sophie is having 2-3 solids a day, farex for breakfast, fruit or veg for lunch and fruit or veg for dinner and sometimes she has afternoon tea but not often.

    Sorry for no personals

    chat soon

Hawksey - She really has fantastic posture - better than me lol. That guy at the cafe sounds like a pig!! Glad you got your money back.

Joanne - Glad Sophie is doing so well, Punky has only just started solids and has one meal a day atm.

At her check today Scarlett was 8.650kgs & 70cm long. My big girl!! She totally cracked it when the nurse was measuring her & wouldn't stop until I started singing that song about the five little ducks...

OMG, I want a car like Punky's! How sick!

I was thinking of having a half birthday party for Billy. Well, not a party, just a few drinkies with his god mothers and my god parents and Nanny and Poppy. I was even going to make half a cake, put half a candle on it and everything. I might do it. he he he...

OMG, Dad just cooked me bacon and eggs.

Love it Kate! A half birthday party!! Go for it!

Just checking in quickly. Trying to research campervans to hire for a holiday in NZ in November. She will be 10 months. Need to work out what size to get and how do baby seats go in. Figure it will be better (and cheaper) than a hire car and hotels. And she can nap during the day, and we dont need to pack/unpack every night, and we can cook meals.
Anyone with any experience holidaying with a baby with advice???????????????

    Hi all!
This thread has gone quiet. Hope everyone is well and enjoying the real world so much they havent time to check the computer!!

We are good, Addie is sleepingon her back at the moment. I have started to calm down about her wanting to sleep half the night on her tummy. Bought one of those airwrap things for around the edge (like a safe cot bumper) cause I found her today, she had spun around and rolled over and she was at the end of the cot, on her tummy, both legs through the cot sides so she was pressed right in and couldnt move- she was screaming!I felt so bad. Thank God I went in sooner rather than later>

Oh well. Going to bed to read
    Night all

    Hi all,

I'm hopeless at keeping up in here! Happy 6 months Addie!!!!! We are doing well here although last night was one of our worst. Amy managed to wake up every hour after we put her down. Very bizarre. Not sure what was up but hey tonight is a new night. Needless to say we are both exhausted today and so is poor daddy who had to go to work. Hope everyone is going well xx luv Nik and Amy

    Talking

    Hello ladies...

Cherryblossom: how funny.... NO ONE (except for those who'd watched the movie) can pronounce Amelie and I'm getting tired.....
Even my hub won't pronounce it the same way that I want it...
My MiL is the worst offender calling her "Emily".
My parents bounce from Ah-melie to Emelie... *sigh*.. what do you think we can do??
My hub just goes.. we'll let her decide on the pronounciation when she grows up...;-)
If ppl can't say Ah-melie.. at least they can say Emelie not Emily!!...
She has a Korean middle name and we're thinking of changing that to the first name and make Amelie as middle name.. .and of course.. my PiL had a go at pronouncing it and yup.. it was a challenge... why why why??! :P
    Ah.. it's just tooooo hard!!!
I dunno if I should just give up the fight or keep soldering on...
I keep thinking about ways to nicely tell my in laws that they are calling her the wrong name...but every time I try or see them.. doesn't happen...
lunesoleil, are you sure you are not ME??? LOL. Seriously, I could've written that myself.

I just don't bother correcting ppl when they say 'Emily' anymore, even my MIL. I think 'Emily' is just easier for them to say. But when some people see the name written down, they think it's pronounced "Amelia"? How, why??? Is there an 'a' at the end of "Amelie" anywhere? Beats me how they could've pronounced it "Amelia" seeing that there is no 'a' at the end of "Amelie".

    anyway...

We've decided that we too are going to get the Tripp Trapp this weekend. It's expensive but it's also a design piece of furniture which looks great in the house, and can be used when baby grows up, into adulthood..That's how I'm justifying the price anyway and like you said, lunesoleil, it's great for a small bub..

Speaking of small bubs, I just weighed Amelie, and she's only 6.55 kg This means she only gained 400g over 6 weeks, or 67g per week. She is such a bad feeder, with a very small appetite. I reckon if I don't feed her for a day she'll still be fine.

QM - PUnky is sooo cute, such a chubba!! I'm so jealous!!

I'm starting A on solids this Saturday. Just need some advice on how to do it. I was going to cut up some softened fruit/veg and let her feed herself but on second thoughts I don't think she'll eat it. So now I'm thinking of pureeing some some fruit for her and seeing if she takes it. Do I only feed her a meal a day to start off then gradually increase to 3 meals a day? Any advice appreciated. I'm so excited about starting solids!!!
