Jacob again went to MCHN for a weight as he has been slow to put on weight. He put on 105 grams in a week which i was happy with bt mchn said ohh its not as much as we would like!!!! 4305 grams today yes only 310 grams passed birth weigt but he lost soooooooo much at start and is fully boob fed!!!!

He has been chucking still after feeds often 1 hr or more after a feed, and has had a cold on weekend and feeding for 30 mins sleeping 30 mins and then waking up cranky, poor bubba. Taking him to GP tomorrow to get checked out as vomiting is crazy bonus is he is not getting pain whenhe vomits now.

    Hi all =)

just a very quick one - then back to being a mummy =))))

We're doing really well here. Still having some mild BF issues (for some reason she gets really fussy about my right BB!!! At night she refuses to open wide for it, but is fine on the left or during the day. But we'll get there!!). Other than that, completely blissed out. Can't believe she's 4 weeks old today! AND hubby returned to workies today =\

Also finally got rid of all our visitors on Sunday, so have finally had a little time to ourselves =)

So... Mel is having computer issues and may not be so active for a while - no idea how long or how intermittent it may be. She said she's missing this forum and all you gals, guy and bubs, and is a *tad* frustrated that her 'puter is sick.

BIG hugs to all the mums who need them (especially Kellxx - you've had a stupidly rough few days).

Anastasia, I'd avoid the diet pills... I'd probably add them to the list of stupid things your doc was telling you not to do. Moderate exercise and balanced diet should do it for you - remember you have not long had a baby. Your hubby shouldn't expect you to bounce back to your old shape overnight - you can get there without poisoning your system. They will simply not be conducive to your wish to conceive again, or at the very least pose some form of risk to the baby should you conceive while still taking them. I don't think there is a diet pill on the market that is safe for use during pregnancy - in fact all the books and medical personnel adamantly say DO NOT DIET while pregnant (which that statement alone should adequately cover the pills). BTW, all the best with TTC again!

    waves to everyone else!

Kellxx- Im so sorry you have had a few tough days with Jesse sick, its not nice to see them sick. Laila has been really sick once before and it was horrible to see.

Jess- Thankyou, he weighed 3.20kgs when he was born, then he got weighed the day he left hospital and he was 3.09kgs and now 3.61kgs.

Tasia- Im sorry your DH said that to you.. he needs a good kick in the bum.

Feeb- They say 120-150 a week is good, I found out this arvo...I think any weight gain is great!

    TheBear- Oh how cute!

Bear and Pixie - Beth is just gorgeous it made my heart melt! shes so cute. I love baby photos cant get enough of them! ps, love your pink minky wrap too! whered you get it from?

Kell - honey so sorry to hear that Jesse and your DH have been so sick. I hope you dont get it too or Keira. Sending you big hugs and hope for good recoveries.

Zee - great to see you! let me know what date is this week at your place hon. I went out today with both the girls for the first time wasnt too bad considering, Julia was very good. Im sure she would love to play with Laila and your other friends too! Zee my MCHN told me that it may take up to 4 weeks after birth to get back to the birth weight, so try not to worry sweetie.

Feeb - I think that his weight gain is great this week especially considering like you say he lost so much to begin with and he is fully BF so he is doing so well. Your doing a great job mate!

Kristy - hows Isaac honey? how ru? how r the boys too?

SW - so good to see you! thanks for the update I hear ya on the BF issues, Tara is lazy on the right side and wont open wide for me either, Ive had so many issues with BF her today on the right side...

Tasia - I say also avoid diet pills and also Slimfast, Tony Ferguson, Optifast etc as it is not recommended when TTC as it does poison then system, my friend was on it before TTC and she was told to wait for few months before TTC to get it out of her system. I do know that I think Herballife is safe though, maybe look at their website. I havent tried it but one of my friends has, only the shakes though with normal food not the pills as such. I just try and eat Low GI diet and exercise every day and I lose weight but mind you I weigh so much more than you, I need to lose 30kgs. Its a slow process for me but it worked when I had Julia so will be trying to do it again.

Pam - hiya great to see you again too. Tara also is very much a hand held baby, she only slept for 1 hour all up today during the day and that was cause we were out and she was in my sling, this arvo she only slept for 15mins if that. Thankfully after lots more BF she fell asleep at 6.30pm and has been sleeping since...She cried all day if I wasnt near or she couldnt hear me, its quite tiring especially with a 2 year old too.

Jess how ru and Izzy honey? how was your day?

Tenny - hope you feel better soon xoxo .

Im going to get some sleep girls while I can!

Have a good night everyone sorry I have missed some, will come back later for more, hello to everyone.

Feeb I agree with Zee, any weight gain is great. Specially knowing the troubles you've had with Jacob's throwing up, I really think the MCHN could have been more sensitive. You just keep plugging away with him and I'm sure that he will keep getting bigger and eventually will get more economical with the feeding. Keep up the good work.

Hi SW - nice to see you. Glad that everything is so lovely for you, pity about your dh having to go back to work. it is always a bummer when they have to do that. if only we could all win millions of dollars and just share the whole experience with them.

The Bear - Great photos. what a cutie. I was going to say she looks just like you, but then i realised that she also looks just like the Pixie. I guess she is a pretty good mix of you both which is really nice. Did you make anything good for dinner? My DH just made eggs florentine for us (at my request) it was delicious, and his homemade hollandaise sauce rocked.

JK - Crab shell soup - a traditional french bisque flavoured with brandy, fennel and cream....I'm not sure it's going that well, so I might need to come up with a plan b. I just tried to blend some of the soup and discovered that the seals on the blender had gone and I covered the walls of the kitchen with aerosol soup....now cleaned up, but I'm losing enthusiasm for the project!
Eggs Florentine sounds good...that may well be the fall back plan!

Beth seems to have ended with the Pixie's eyes, eye brows and nose, but my lips - it's fun watching her character develop.

Belle - the wrap was a gift from the UK, not sure where to get one locally...it feels great.

Tasia - Stay well clear of the artificial diet products, just make an effort to eat natural whole foods. Try to reduce artificial products from your diet and let your body do what it is designed to do naturally.

SW - My god there is life in Canberra, the RSS feed of photos had not been updated for so long that I was beginning to worry!

SW - My god there is life in Canberra, the RSS feed of photos had not been updated for so long that I was beginning to worry!
blame my parentals They're - ummm - how to put it nicely - high maintenance!!! We were either dealing with them, feeding, changing nappies, playing or sleeping!

btw - people have been asking about eye tracking, neck strength, etc... Alyssa was tracking us from about 3 days after she was home from hosp. We didn't notice, but MIL is a child physio and pointed it out that when she saw mummy or daddy she'd watch us like a hawk, following where we were moving. Also was able to triangulate sounds and turn to mummy's voice. Has gotten better each day, but MIL picked up on it really early. Was VERY exciting =) Her neck is also very, very strong. She's been able to move her head from one side to the other during tummy time since 2 days old, and frequently lifts her head to look up at me or look for where I am. Makes me melt =)))

My brother gave us a bunch of high contrast pattern toys and books, so she's been LOVING them. They've been wonderful for getting her to track and move her head/neck and such.

Her skin is still a little dry, so we're bathing every 2-3 days and using alpha keri oil in her bath (no soap, just the oil). She's also just come out with a milk rash in the last two days, so looking a little red,but still soooooo damned cute!

And the smiles! Oh, they are so amazing =) I fall more and more in love with each smile =)

And like so many others, been a bit snotty. We're considering investing in whichever drug company produces Fess Little Noses

As for weight gain, she put on 230g in her first week since leaving hosp, and another 400g in the following 9 days. We'll take her back in to a drop in clinic this thurs for another weigh in. Very healthy and thriving on breastmilk (even if my right BB is suffering still!!)

Pixie and Belle - funny how they prefer one side over the other!! Do you both feel any fuller or anything on either side? My right still gets a little engorged, but nothing too badly... She just seems to always fuss with it.

Well, think that's about it for us... full update =) personals some other time - she's just about to start screaming for a feed!! Been fussing and chatting to herself for an hour =)

    Everning all

Well I had to get on and let you all know two things. I think Liam started last night. I was bringing in wood and dropped a log on callums play table and I think he started. Im sure he did, he was asleep on his play mate and when it happened he waved his arms and open his eyes. Awwww I hope it was from me. Ive had nothing since but hey its a start right. Also DH fed him at 9.30 last night and he slept till 6am. I was so shocked. My good little boy.

Well Liam is very strong in his neck and I try to do tummy time everyday but some times forget. He is drinking 120mls but increasing it to 150mls soon.

Bear wow on the weight gain. Little piggy. Awww poor thing with the chucking up. I know how that can be as Liam is so good at it...lol. Bear your little one is just beautiful. Love all the photos.

Tenny thanks I love the photo too hun. Awww isnt it so cute the windy smiles. I just love them.

Yes the weight gain is fine Zee. Liam is 4kg so lucus is doing fine.

Anastasia Awww shame on your DH telling you your over weight. Doesnt he know you have to be nice to ladies just after they have their babies....lol

Kell you poor thing. oh and your kiddies too. Poor little jess. Im sorry he was so sick. Glad all is ok now. Hope DH doesnt give it to you hun. Take care

Tasia: Thats horrible of your DH!! Mines not much better, he told me during my pregnancy that I look fat not pregnant. I don't think he has said anything since but I am still about 10kgs off what I was before Jayden and only 2kgs before Ashlea. If he ever says anything I say I'm pregnant (or now I say just had a baby) Whats your excuse?? As long as you feel good don't worry what he says and you definitely don't want to be doing anything other than eating right and excerising if you are TTC now/soon. PM me if you want to chat

SW: Ashlea's skin is still a bit dry...guess its t be expected when they are over cooked. I'm just using sorbelene, but I think I need to get something better as its not really doing too much. YAY for the weight gain!

ThePixie/Bear: Must have been the night for it, Ashlea was really unsettled last night too! Hope Beth settles tonight for you! Gorgeous pics of her!! Oh no for the vomit, but YAY for the weight gain! Actually Ash vomited in the bath last night, it wasn't huge but the biggest one she's done.

Missy: YAY on startling Liam, I agree though he is probably just used to noises. Ashlea doesn't wake up to Jayden screaming the house down or the dogs barking.

Belle: Did you get some good sleep?

Zee: Lucus' weight gain is great, I've heard doesn't matter how much they gain (BF babies) as long as they are gaining and not losing.

Feeb: Jayden was a spewy baby....its annoying cause you gotta change their clothes all the time, not to mention they weight gain thing. Have they suggested getting an ultrasound done to check his valve....can't remember what its called but its common in 1st born boys. Jayden had an ultrasound done at 3wks old for it, its when they valve doesn't open correctly and makes them vomit...something like that anyway. Jayden didn't have it he was just spewy.

Kell: Oh poor Jesse & your DH!!! I hope you and Keira don't get it!!

Tenny: How are you feeling today, has Hayden got it as well? Ashlea has a bit of a snotty nose but she is ok.

    back Pam!

Yesterday morning Jayden woke up and his eyes were fine, we still went to the Dr's as he has had a cold for a few weeks now so we have AB's and some eye drops JIC the conjunctivitis comes back. Ashlea as I said just has a bit of a snotty nose but otherwise fine.

Well thats my attempt at personals.....sorry if I missed anyone to those I did miss. We are staying home ALL day today, we might venture to the park but probably not...the back yard might be the furtherest we get. Better check on Ashlea, she's meant to be sleeping so I can have a shower.

    Hi all

Thought Id pop in as im at work and just getting into it.

Liam was abit unsettled last night but hey that was the first time so Im not concerned. Once out of 6 weeks is pretty good I say.

Belle and tannis yes its great about Liam and ill be keeping a very close eye on him to see if he does it again. He is gooing now too but alittle hard getting the smiles out of him but at least he is every now and then. Love the windy smiles though....lol

Oh Anastasia im sorry hun. I hope he pulls his head in and treats you the way you sould be treated. Good luck hun!!

Pixie no im not bf'ing anymore. Gave that up last week. I think as you said trying to keep the energy up. Wow your little girl is beautiful and what a piggy. Well done on the bf'ing hun

Hi Feeb, SW, Kell, Zee, Tenny, Mel and everyone else. Hope your little ones are doing well and being good.
Well better head off. BBS. Bye for now

Hi all, Im still around just havent been posting much coz we've been busy & I havent been well.

Anyone who's partners tell them they are fat, tell them to get stuffed. It took 9 months to put all that weight on & they cant expect it all to fall of instantly after giving birth.

Maddi's doing well, she's decided its fun to sleep all day & not at night so we are napping whenever possible during the day. Have the health centre visit tomorrow morning so will hopefully be able to get online & post her weight gain, etc

    Best wishes to all. xox

Missy: Liam's doing well if that was his first unsettled night!

Sal: Maddi will sort her days and nights out soon I'm sure, in the meantime hope you get plenty of nanna naps during the day! Good luck with her check up tomorrow....we go again on Friday.

Belle: Love to pics of Julia and Tara! Bugger about your lost post!

Jess: I like the idea of staying at home but I am very unmotivated to do anything when I am! If I go out I think of all these things I should be doing at home. I surprisingly had no visitors or phone calls other than from Chris. Hope you enjoyed your visitor. Life is never borning with kids haha.

Better go hang out another load of washing.....wish I had of started it earlier!!

Kellxx- Hun im so sorry Jesse is so sick, I really hope this is the end of it so you can get some decent sleep. I know your DH starts work early in the mornings but would it be possible for him to feed Kiera from the time Jesse goes to bed till he has to go to work so you can sleep till you need to get up for Jesse? I know he would be tired but you need some rest to function.
I wish i could help in some way

Belle- Soz hun, they havnt decided on a date so looks like it will be next week. If not we could meet up anyway if you want. Great pics hun

Missy- Oh thats great, you are so lucky.. Lucas slept from 11.50pm till 3.07am this morning and I thought I was in heaven LOL. Lucas will get baptised when he is 3 months old like Laila did.
I will come in to see you on Tuesday now i know your at work.

    Tenny- So cute!!!!

    Mary-
Oh gosh it helps heaps, Laila was always wrapped really tight unless she was feeding or it was her tummy time and the same for Lucas.. it helps them realise its time for sleep when wrapped plus its comfort for them cause they are used to being kept tight in our bellys.

Feeb- My DD had reflux and so does Lucas..its horrible. Always changing him, changing his bed, changing myself etc.

Okie im gunna go, so so tired and gunna get some sleep while Lucas is asleep. Abit stressed as Laila was just so naughty today and Lucas didnt sleep all day

    Hi everyone.

Well today went & saw my freind she lives in Roxburgh park, so I thought of paying her a visit which was to see her. Then went to my hubby's factory stayed there a bit took took MIL home as my FIL is in greece for 2 weeks, he went there for his neice's wedding. So I offered to take my MIL home if she wanted. She only lives like 5 mins from the factory & she likes walking & told me not to worry but I feel bad. But I told her if it's raining, call me.

Missy- That's wonderful how ur bapbtising liam on father's day

Mary- That's great to hear that Izzy is sleeping good, I'm so glad. I'm sure you will be fine while ur DH is away.

Kell- I'm so sorry sweety, I'm sure Jesse will get better, & it's really nice to have ur IL's coming over & helping u. Also I'm sorry to hear that ur FIL has a low immunity with cancer, I hope he will be fine. If u want to ever talk u can PM me ok sweety

Tenny- AWWW how cute r the clothes & ur beautiful baby

Missy: Melissa sounds like a gem!! I hope I have that sort of relationship with Ashlea!

Mez: HOw are you going? We have been pretty good. Sorry to hear you had some rough nights, great to hear the swaddling worked, I started wrapping Ash again and its working wonders

Tasia: Hows everything going? DH being nice to you now??

Tenny: It was a boring day but I did get most of the washing done haha Hope Hayden's cold is getting better! Hayden's outfit is GORGEOUS!! I lived on ebay when I had Jayden, I haven't even thought to look for clothes for Ashlea!

Jess: I'm a huge believer in sleeping when the baby is sleeping, but it is harder to do when there's a 2yo involved haha get as much rest as you can!! Ashlea feeds between 3-4 hourly then sometimes sleeps through so she'll go maybe 6hrs

Oh Kell hun!!! I know how you feel, Jayden is sick ATM too (nothing like Jesse though). Just take a deep breath and know that it won't be like that forever. We were told (I think in antenatal class) that no baby has died from crying, so let Keira cry a bit if Jesse needs you. We of course are here for you as well, I know I have had a few days where I just don't think I'm cut out to have 2 kids...I think every mother goes through that at some stage, whether they are willing to admit it or not. Big to you, I hope things look up soon.

Zee: I sympathise with you RE toddlers being naughty! Jayden is playing up heaps lately... not sure if its an age thing or an attention thing....I just keep telling myself it won't be like this forever haha

Feeding is going great again although I didn't feed Ashlea from 8.30pm last night until 6am this morning (gave her EBM at 2am) and I was way too full and she couldn't attach, then she wouldn't after I expressed a bit so I expressed the whole lot and gave her a bottle but I had express 220ml in total from both sides!! She has fed fine all day, oh she made me bleed this morning too so I was so scared all day to put her on that side!
Is anyone still bleeding (downstairs)?? Sorry if TMI but mine had almost stopped after 2 weeks but then came back and I still have it. I know they say up to 6wks and I bled for 6 wks with Jayden but I am so over it!
We were out all day today, I never plan to but it always happens. I took Ashlea up to Chris' work to show everyone....he almost seemed a bit proud when he was showing everyone (I was holding her though). He was even making gooey faces at her yesterday which I thought was cute. I hope this means he is coming round and going to start to take an interest in her. I yelled at him the other day and told him to "step up at being a parent" otherwise you won't have a family....although he didn't respond at the time maybe he had a think about it???

Well my little princess is fast asleep on me so I better put her to bed and I think I will have some custard and then go to bed myself.....Tomorrow we have another LC appt, I am actually excited this time as Ashlea has only had 3 bottles since last Fri so any weight gain will be me feeding her. Oh and I uploaded Ashlea's 1mth old (today) pic on FB
