Just a quick one from me whilst DD is sleepin in her rocker (gotta love massage oil in a nice warm bath.... puts her to sleep like... a baby.. lol) and I'm cooking dinner as well (multi-tasking of course!!!)
Belle - well done on the weight gain!!!! Terrific!!!! WOOHOO!!!! I'm sorry that you aren't feeling that well, but great that your medication is doing some good. I'm here if you need to chat!!!!
Pink - I'm sorry you have had troubles with your supply and pain!!!! I remember that pain all too well, one of the main reasons I FF DD from the start - couldn't go there again and remain a happy mummy!!!!! The doc might give you motilium (sp?) or you could try that Aktavite (s?) drink like milo from the supermarket.. I've read that they do great things for supply... oh and Fenugreek? Hope things start looking up for you soon.
Kel - bubs can be 1 month old before taking Infacol. I couldn't wait the extra few days with DS and put him on it when he was 4 weeks (whats a coupla days..lol)
So we are trying the colic relief stuff now... will see how that goes..
DH is finished with DS and bath time - time to serve up dinner!!!!
Oh and Kel - nearly forgot - lots of tanties here too... .. but also lots of kisses and cuddles for his new baby sister.. (usually accompanied by a kick or knee in the back of her head!!!)
Hay there i was stressed out this arvo as Jacob chucked 5 times in 45 mins post feeds even while being held upright and happy! I rang mchn and she told me to go to GP so i rang and they squeezed me in.
They have given me Losec for him as i went in and said it has to be reflux as this is crazy he is chucking most of what he drinks. I have to half a tablet and dissolve in water and then give to him 2 times a day. (gave me choice between this and zantac but GP thinks losec works better and quicker) i trust he so went with that.
so fingers crossed
poor bubba was awake from 10 am till 4pm before he finally slept so whether from meds or pure exahstion i do not know.
I cant express milk driving me insane i am one of the small percentage of woman who cant get it to work!!! I know he is getting milk thought as he is chucking heaps up and will settle after chucks as long as he has some left in belly.
Feeb - Oh sweet I'm so sorry to hear that poor Jacob is having such a hard time keeping his milk down. I really do hope that the medication the Dr gave you works. Thinking of you sweet and sending you lots of
Mel - I have to agree with the bath time with the oil we just gave Isabel a bath after her 6pm feed and she is now sleeping so we have decided to do that when we want to give her a bath cause it just relaxes them You go girl with the multi tasking.
Kell - So good to hear that your mum is helping out this time round, it's such a great help when they do all that for us hey. My mum came over today and cleaned my house which was just lovely now I have a clean house for the weekend.
Pink - I hope that your BB's get better soon sweet and that little Ava starts to put on more weight. Keep up the good work and if it doesn't work out in the end FF is just as good. I'm really happy for making the decision to go to FF our little one. I don't have that many tears about it now.
Skittlebub - Yay to Maddi for putting on so much weight.. Woohoo How are you doing sweet??
A big to Missy, Belle, Zee, Jess, Pixie & The Bear, Tenny, Tanis if I've missed anyone hello to you too.
Melbourne girls - How about we organise to meet up in early September?? Let me know if your all up to it.
Feeb - sorry to hear you having issues with Jacob feeding and reflux. Sending you big hugs. Fingers crossed the losec works. Do you have manual or electric breast pump? Some manuals are difficult to use, you can hire electric ones that may work better from chemist or ABA.
Mez- how ru sweetie? hows Isabel?
Pink - your welcome, sounds like you been trying so hard hon big hugs to you. I agree FF just as good honey, I fed Julia with both boobs with low supply and topped her up with FF since she was 6 weeks old and she was fine.
Mel - thanks sweetie will message you hon. Hows Melkelti? shes beautiful. Hope the colic relief works soon hon.
Sal - thats great re Maddi's weight gain!!!
Tenny - I hear ya on DP falling asleep, its so frustrating! make sure you get some time out for sleep or just for you honey. Even if its just a short time every moment counts! Yep Im looking for winter clothes in polar fleece 0000 with hood cant find one anywhere grrr.
Missy - how ru today hows Liam?
SW - honey are you ok? havent seen u around for a while...
Zee - thanks for your text mate, will text ya back soon. mwah
Kell - lots of tantrums here too. Im not sure how to handle, I seem to have short fuse at the moment for Julia's tantrums, I called mum on Thurs and asked her to mind her an extra day this week as I was not handling it.
Hello to everyone else, have to feed Tara now as shes stiring... so back later.
Belle - I'm doing well, tired but feeling as good as I can. I'm just waiting for Isabel to wake for her next feed so that I can go and get some sleep. Isabel has a little cold but doing well.
Feeb - I'm up to going to Max, I'll be ready for a chocolate fix again soon.. My 6 week Dr apt is 8 Sept so anytime after that I'm happy to meet up as I'll be able to drive.
Hey everyone, just popping in quickly to see how everyone is . My nan is still here, it's been hard doing everything for everyone all the time! Will have a huge update on us when she goes home tuesday.
Thinking of u all... xxxx
Belle - seems like everyone is dealing with tantrums!!! Gotta love toddlers ay
Mez - I hope Isabel's cold gets better soon!!!! terrible to hear them snuffling away!!
Feeb - I hope the medicine works!!!! We haven't had any screaming since switching to colic relief - so fingers crossed this one will work!!!
DD has a little routine going (but will no doubt change)... she has a dream feed round 9.30, wakes around 3ish and then 6.45...... pretty good!! She wouldn't settle last night (well this morning) so I just popped her into bed with us and dozed until she fell asleep, then I woke up DH and he put her in her bed.. woohoo... so we didn't co-sleep, more like co-dozed...lol
We're managing an early evening feed around 7pm, then a dream feed around 11 which sees us through to around 3:30, then 8am which means that we're only really getting up once during the night.
I'm curious about the colic issues - we had one bad night in the hospital after an EBM feed, but haven't had any real issues since then, although there are some spectacular burps. At what point did you start getting problems?
We mail ordered a few wintery clothes from the US, the online baby stores are putting their autumn/winter selection on at the moment, and it's still cheaper than buying here.
Once this feed has finished, we're taking the little one up to the markets for the weekly food shop..
Thanks for concern ladies he was still very restless last night but did have a disturbed day yesterday with being taken off the boob a few times eg to go to drs and then when in waiting room to go in. Was awake most of day yesterday and had a sleep fro 4 hrs from 1630 then was awake from 2030 till 2am!!!! ahhhhh then had to feed him at 3-30am again lefts hope he settles down now they said to me shoudl see some inprovement in 3 - 5 days and an good improvement in 7!! I SOOOOOO hope soooo. he did only chuck 2 small times after feed this morning at 11am (not sure about 7am as it was in bed and i was snoozing.
I hope he has put on wg in monday so worried he wont have due to all chucking.
Hope everyone haveing a good weekend
Bear - Tara was only restless when my milk came in, re the colic, it really disturbed her stomach, after a few days she was so much better, the midwifes at the hospital said this happens its quite common in babies when the milk comes in.
Feeb - big hugs honey. I hope he settles today for you.
Sal - I ended up going to target today and got a minkee/sherpa all in one with a hood for $7 and a hat for her other outfit that matches for $3 so good shopping experience! was my first time out alone without anyone!
Missy - great pics mate!
Girls Ive also put pics in the gallery. Not sure how to share the links thoughu. But if you look under my name and albums you will see Tara's one there.
Off to have some lunch take care girls. Hope you are all having a good weekend.
Belle.. hun, looks like the age for tantrums. Jesse is chucking whoppas when he doesnt get his own way or something he wants. I have a short fuse atm too. Am trying my hardest mostly though to just walk away and let him have his tantrum. Then he usually comes running to me with his arms out. But boy does he scream! It is so defening! Sometimes its hard just to ignore him especially when trying to get Keira to sleep. Those times we've been putting him in his room where he'll usually scream it out in there and come out afterwards. Maybe you could try that? When Julia's getting to much, just put her in her room.. sort of like a time out kinda thing.
Bear.. with Keira we didnt have any problems until really Tuesday this week. Some babies you may just be lucky with the colic/wind issues.. some get them from word go.
Mel.. oh really. Well dont think the Infants Friend is working much here. Well.. we're giving it to her before her feeds and it doesnt seem to be. Im then giving her another dose when she starts to have a bit of issues and that seems to work after a little while, but dont know if thats the infants friend working or her just getting past it. Cant wait until the 1 month period then! lol oh dear re the kick after the cuddles. Oh the joys of toddler tantrums hey. Thats gret youre getting a routine. Ours is still all up in the air.. depending how she settles or doesnt settle at night. Still every 4 hour feeds though.
Mez.. oh how nice of your mum cleaning your house. It is great having the help isnt it.
Well we had another bad night last night. Keira was crying for a while. Ended up settling for DH at around 11pm. I went to bed while he sat up and watched the footy and waited for her next feed. She then woke later and took anouther 2 hours for him to settle her. But then slept until 5.30am then 9.30am for me. Am hanging out for the 3-4 month period when this all ends!
