If you go to Babycenter Australia, you can sign up for weekly developmental emails based on your child's age with ideas for games and tips for all sorts of things.

Jessikah, Autie is doing the same rocking, face-planting thing. I'm also hoping it holds off for a while - it's gonna make showering and toilet breaks so much harder!

Megan - all babies are different, don't worry yet. Have you tried watching to see his favourite side for rolling and putting a toy there, just out of reach? Incentives can work wonders

Lol sacha i agree on the toilet and shower breaks!! Its hard enough with them wriggling around on there bellies. Before long our "not so little any more" babies are going to be in to everything

    Hi everyone

Megan - as some of the other ladies have said - all babies are different and develop at different stages. Also on average, girls tend to develop faster than boys

Veronica's - yay on Avaleigh 'walking'. Diana did something similar the other day too. It's so cute, isn't it?

Em - Diana was 7kg and 69cm a couple of weeks ago. She is mostly in 00 clothes, although some 000 still fit her. I would probably go for 0 clothes if I were to buy a whole lot right now.

Mel - hope Charlize feels better soon. Re EBM - I use the Pur self-sterilising bottles, but have also got an Avent and a Tommee Tippee one. They're all as good as each other IMO.

Well, Diana has slept a lot better today. Hopefully this trend will continue. And she's now commando crawling. Eek! Have to make sure things are way out of reach whenever I put her down.

    Hey Megan,

Lucas is not alone - Liam only rolls from his front to his back. He's been doing this for over a month, with no real indication that he's going to go the other way. He's only just started to reach for things that are lying on his side - up until about the last week he'd have one attempt and then obviously would think "hmm, can't get that, didn't want it anyway" and go back to talking to his feet or the ceiling or his hands. I'm not worried (well only occasionally), cos I think he's so bright & interested in everything, plus he has good strength in other ways, so I think he's just lazy. And one big advantage is that when I put Liam to bed, he stays in place, so I don't yet have to keep getting up to him to unwedge him from the corner of his cot . It can be hard sometimes though, I have a nephew who is 6 weeks older than Liam and has been rolling from before 4 months, and because Liam is roughly the same size as his cousin, I think that some in my family think he's developmentally delayed. But I don't stress too much, cos kids always do things in their own time, and maybe our boys will miss the rolling stage completely & go straight to crawling. And Liam has more sounds than his cousin, blows much better raspberries so it's swings & roundabouts really.

Yeah all babies are different even in the 1 family! maddy was talking sentences at 10mths & only cut a tooth at 11mths & walked at 10-11mths..

Indah cut 4 teeth by 12wks & didnt really speak sentences til about 18ish+ mths & didnt walk til 16mths! They would be pretty much on par for what they were doing at age 26mths though!

So dont worry at all, Zyon is rolling & gets up on his knees, but just prejrectiles his body forward from digging in his toes! It drives me nuts as we have floor boards & he always bangs his nose!
He bangs his head in the cot & wakes up.. But he isnt interested in sitting at all... He just rolls all over the house! Once they move it's so much harder!!! I'd be happy for him to be laying in the 1 spot!!!
I'd also not look at the books etc that say what babies should be doing, because my abbies will all do their own thing in their own time, no book or MCHN or anyone else will tell me when it should be IYKWIM! Even the average is not a good guideline... As your baby/my baby could be on either side of the average making them seem slow or freaks! Just let them be babies & their own individual!!!

Mel I have the Avent Isis breastpump & use the Avent bottles with both Indah & Zyon, neither have ever had breast confusion or anything, if that helps!?? Hope Charlize is Ok & glad you & Dh are talking again!

    Good morning.

Well ethan decided he was getting up at 5.30am and staying up, usually he would go back to sleep about 6am and sleep till 8.30am - 9am, but as he is happy i will not complain He is just rolling around playing and being Mr independant!

Zofia- Glad diana slept better yesterday, i hear you on the keeping things out of reach, i had a pile (20 or so) of dvd's stacked in a pile on the floor ready to pack in to the box and went to get a drink and in like 10 seconds flat ethan had 'em knocked over! Lol he ripped up my magazine the other day too and i hadn't even read it yet

Jan- I wish ethan would lay still in bed, he ends up with arms and legs hanging out the side of his cot or squished up in what looks like an awfully uncomfortable position in the corner lol

Tracey- Aww poor zyon banging his nose! We are moving to a house with wooden floors too so thats something to 'not' look foward too, but its better than the carpet here which is covered in cat fur! How are your girls going?

Well im going to have some breakfast now, i have been so hungry lately lol it must be all the packing! I spend all day packing and snacking, and on bad stuff if im not careful i might just turn into a house

    Ok BBL seeya

Great advice Tracey! I think it is easy to forget that all babies are individual and can do various things that others cant. i had a girlfriend here the other day whose little girl is 3 weeks younger than T as she was so precise in how she picked things up whereas Tom just grabs for stuff, and when she layed on the floor she was really still, Tom looks like he is paddling on a surfboard - arms and legs everywhere. I was panicking that Tom didnt do the stuff she did, but realised in time it will happen (like the food thing!!).

Speaking of the food thing, my MCHN suggested that i give up trying food for Tom because he isnt ready.. But if i stop how will i know when he is ready? I thought he was showing all the classic signs before i started him. I am just going to keep trying i think. Oh, better go - someone sounds like he has worked his way up the cot to the baby monitor. Lots of heavy breathing coming through it!

    Hi everyone,

I'm a bit excited today because it's Noah's Half Birthday!!! (he's 6months old today) I know people say it goes fast but my gosh I don't think you could really understand how fast until you're a parent yourself! It's unbelieveable.

Well just a little update on Noah he started big boy food as we call it at about 5months...I know they say 2 wait til 6months but he was ready for it and has breathed it in from the very beginning! He has been sitting up unaided since just before the 5months mark and from 5.5 months has been getting on his hands and knees. He pushes himself forward with his legs but no actual crawling just yet. he also often pushes himself up on his hands and feet with his bum poking in the air...it's really funny.

We're very proud of our little man he is so gorgeous. I'll have to edit our totsite soon with some recent pics, might try get that done today!

    Argh! I lost you guys...

Well we've not long been back from the Drs Poor little Oscar was in sooo much pain today and I knew he was trying to do a poo. In the end he was just crying and crying with tears streaming down his face looking at me as though saying "Help me Mum". It just broke my heart. I massaged his belly and out it came but when I looked he had streaks of blood through his poo. So I called the Dr and we got an appointment. He checked Oscar out and said he will be ok but next thing I know he is putting a glove on to check Oscars bottom to see if he can feel anything. Needless to say poor Oscar was beside himself and hysterical at what the Dr did to him. The poor little munchkin... he's happy now but we have to give him some drops 3 times a day to soften his poo.

Well I best get going for dinner. you all you Mummies and bubs!!

    Hi all,

Zofia, I'm a survivor so it will be hard but I'll battle my way through it. At least I don't feel guilty asking Nathan for help doing all the housework etc 'cause we are both working full time.

V, I was hoping that I was wrong about 3 times per day We went to a fancy dress in December (the ticker pic is from it) nathan was Captain hook, I was tinkerbell and Xavier looked a little bit like a pirate. Alice in wonder land would be cute though. Avaleigh could go as the doormouse at the mad hatters tea party, or the chessire cat or the white rabbit or something like that.

Danielle, Xavier swollows most of his farex but still ends up with heaps of it all over his face and on his hands and feet lol because he will take a spoon full and then shove a hand in. I'm not sure if he necessarily likes farex, I think he more likes the bb milk mixed in with it.

megan I don't know exactly how much sleep we are getting at the moment but it is somewhere between 1.5 and 4ish hours. Just before I went back to work, Xavier was having at least 2 2 hour naps each day and sometimes squeezed a 30min powernap in in the arvos. Don't be concerned about rolling, Xavier doesn't either.

    happy 6 months Tom

Xavier is about 7kgs, and fits 00 tops and still some 000 bottoms, although we are merging into 00 bottoms. I have O's and 1's for winter but not a crazy amount of clothes, so if he only wears 1s towards the end of the season or on cold spring days then they won't be wasted, but both my nieces were in size 1's by their first birthday.

mel, I use avent bottles for ebm, they are all xavier knows and he has never had a problem with them. I choose them because of all the accesories are interchangable. But if Xavier hadn't take to them i was going to try the tommee tippee one that's shaped like a boobie.

    happy 6 months Noah.

Well sorry I don't think I cought up with everyone's going ons but there was so many pages to read, and I have trouble finding the time at the moment.

I hope all of you are well. We are going to try Xavier oon a bit of avocado mixed with his farex tomorrow, and I hope he likes it as it seems some of the bubbas out there don't. I'll let you all know.

    Hi girls,

I have been without the net for almost a week because of the move. I'm so glad it's back on. I just read all your posts while drinking a glass of chocolate vodka - yum! Now my heads a bit fuzzy....lol.

Oliver is doing great. He's started sleeping more during the day, he used to be a great day sleeper but for about a month there he just wasn't into it at all. He isn't rolling from back to tummy either but I'm not worried. He isn't really that keen on his tummy but I've been placing some of his favourite toys in front of him and he is starting to move towards them. He has started giving me kisses, it is so cute. I say, Kisses Olimoo and he opens his mouth really wide and grabs my ears or hair and pulls me towards him. I just love it!!! He's finally learnt how to blow raspberries too, it's hilarious.

Well the new house is great, we all love it. Things with DF and I are improving everyday too.

Lexxen will be nine on Sunday! OMG he's grown up way too fast.

Anyway, I'm up too late once again. Bed for me.

    Hope you are all well.

    Good Morning Ladies

Just popped on for a bit of a read while im having a quick cuppa break
The new owner of our house is coming today so i have had to organise the house
so he can come in and do some measurements, i hope he doesnt mind the half packed boxes all around the place, they are not in his way though, it just feels strange as settlement went through yesterday and now we have to start paying rent on a house we have owned for the last 5 years!

Ethan woke up at 4 this morning and was back asleep by 4.30, So happy he didnt decide to stay up and play like yesterday morning, although he woke again at 6am but he is still asleep now.

Hope you all have a lovely day today, once this guy has been me and ethan are off to my mum and dads for a night, Dad has been really down lately (having a few personals health issues) and wants to play board games all night with me and mum and one of my sisters (the other 4 are away or it would be a FULL house) and spend some time with his grandson! Anything to cheer him up i say, although maybe not all night

Any way this was only supposed to be quick, still have lots to do!
    Bye.
