TOJ- re apricots, I found that just using a sharp knife and peeling back the skin was the easiest. Other wise, you can throw them into boiling water (with the skin scored) for a couple of seconds, them take them out and put them in ice cold water. this is blanching and commonly used to remove skins ie tomatoes, or to slightly cook something.
Also I think you were asking if you need to cook them? I did, as it makes them softer-like for pureeing, or mashing. If they were really ripe you wouldn't need to. (I personally dont eat peaches, but Kaetlyn loves them)!
Sacha, the pear thing in the mesh bag went okay. Once she sucked all the juice out she didnt want it anymore. I also kept the hardest piece of cooked pear- by accident to put in there.
I mashed up all the cooked pear, and tried her on the mash pear (normally it is pureed), she liked it and ate it easier than the puree stuff. So will only mash her veges from now on. The bugger about this is I have about 5 freezer bags of frozen puree veges to use up, will just mix the puree with mashed veges for different flavours/textures.
Does anyone elses bub have satin boxers? Kaetlyn does, and she is sitting here next to me on DH's lap, feeling then, She is utterly facinated by their silky feel. It is really cute watching her play with them in her little fingers.

I just popped back quickly to say i had done them, very messily but done! I just decided to boil them and see what happened
so, after they were boiled a little i sat there burning my fingers a bit but got the skins off
