Yep, I saw the story about the twins on the Age website. How cool is that? Talk about testing assumptions! Those two are going to be so aware and sensitive to prejudice, I hope they are constructive with it. There is no reason it should disadvantage either of them, and I see it as a really, really cool thing Then again, my sister is fairer than I am and my dad is a white Irish dude, so I WOULD think that!

Hmmm, yes, water restrictions for these pools - they are about 5000 litres apparently (finding it hard to believe that's more water capacity than the average tanker in a fire station!), so there may be a need to gain permits. Don't think it would require special fencing, though...need to check that, too. I told my dad to tell my mum that it would make a good Christmas present to us as a family cos she always spends too much money and this way would work out to about $30 odd each. Prefer this to extravagant pressies, especially as DP has decided ALL her gifts are an attempt to buy redemption. This is not the case, but I can see where this belief comes from, as mistaken as it is.
OMG, I have really flexed some cerebral muscle today in another thread I started - it's taking me back to my undergrad, only had I been able to articulate myself like that back then my academic transcript wouldn't read like such a dog's breakfast! It's good to take part in such conversations to explore my ideas and theories about the world. I like to theorise, and I realise that this may come as a big shock to you all...hee, hee!
