Can out-fart or out-burp any man!!! WE LOVE HER!!!!!
There are many issues that you will encounter as a new parent. We have put together this list of useful articles and threads in order to assist you with some common questions or issues you may have, and to provide you with bit of extra support that we all need as new parents:
Please contact the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) or a Lactation Consultant if you are concerned that you may have breastfeeding and/or supply problems, and before the introduction of solids.
IK - you must have just beat me!
Big news here is that Ally gets her cot tomorrow. We are getting it 3rd hand, so definatly need a new mattress, may go post to see if anyone can recommend one... i'm so excited... may need to sand and re-paint? that is OK, I have some no-fume paint from our local environmental shop ... I'm sooooooooooo excited. Such a big girl now!
IK- sounds like a great idea. I am always at Knox, spending money I shouldn't!!! Chelsea is a kinder Wednesday so I usually head to the shops for a bit of a wander. I would love to catch up, what time would suit you and where would you like to meet? Catching the train together is also a brilliant idea - I wouldn't know the first thing about buying a ticket or even how too LOL!!! Marley was born at Waverley Private, beautiful hospital. I could have stayed for a week or more!!!!
Simone - how did your retail therapy go? I am with you, shopping makes everything feel better (except the credit card!!LOL) Did you buy anything?? Happy 5 months to Annaleise.
CeeCee - thanks, she is a beautiful little soul and very photogenic now. How exciting for Ally to be going to her cot. Marley went into hers the day we got home and she looked far too small for it, at least now she looks like she belongs in there and has started pushing herself out from under the covers and can be a full body length out of it!!!
Ooh, Marley IS cute! Mel, you'll have to upload a picture of yourself, too, so I know who to look for at Knox 12.30 is good for me - by the time we find a park and trek from it... we could meet in front of Borders? I have an appointment in Heathmont later and Knox is the half way point, so it could work out well. Cee Cee - try Clark Rubber for some latex foam. It's not cheap, but it's an all natural fibre that doesn't lose shape and is healthier than normal foam.
Dinner at my parents' went well-ish - my mum was a bit sensitive, but she'd just received some disappointing news today and I'm surprised she held it in as well as she did, actually!
Going to bed now...good night girls!
PS Did Nic sort out her virus issues in the end? Where IS that girly??? Oh, and thanks for explaining, Jess - I left for camping and didn't get to respond to your post last week! I'm glad it was puter issues and not the other issue that kept her away from us
Morning girls... DH and I are feeling a bit poorly today: I've woken up with a sore throat and he's got weird stomach pains that he thinks is from stress... he noticed yesterday that he was walking around with his stomach clenched and had to focus on relaxing. The way he described the pain sounded like period cramps LOL of course he wasn't impressed when I said "there you go... most women have to deal with that every month"... I'm a bit too tough on him... especially given that he got up early this morning despite the pain and dropped DD of at Little Athletics then came home and looked after the boys until I woke up at 10.30am. However I HAD fed Niall and cleaned the kitchen (shined my sink LOL) and cleaned the FLOORS at 3am this morning! It was just so peaceful and the floors are never free for cleaning unless I do it at odd hours like that... Fly Lady would have been impressed.
Mel: Yes I've checked out the piccys of your darling little girl too! Gee all the June boys are gonna love her if we're still chattin' away in here in 15 years time! LOL And don't laugh I reckon we might be! You probably noticed in the June Buddies member list that boys are the vast majority in this group so it's lovely to have another little girl amongst us... although our boys are all very handsome fellows too!
Yeah where is Nic? down in the paw paw patch? I'll send her an sms later on...
I had a very naughty breakfast today... 2 crumpets with honey (felt good with my sore throat) and a KitKat stolen from the loot bag they gave for Verity yesterday at the party that she doesn't know about...Shhh! She's been eating waaaaaay too many sweet things lately, she doesn't need it... and well... neither do I but I deserve it after the floors... LOL
Ok... better go get dressed while DH and DS number 1 are out fetching Verity... (Niall is sleeping in his pram).
Ha, Bath! If you can justify eating Verity's KitKat, I am quite ok with that, too!
Hope you start to feel better soon - honey is magic, isn't it? Especially when it's being soaked up by a crumpet or 3...
Had a great sleep again, Oscar is just too cute sleeping next to me - I wish I could squeeze him when I open my eyes and he's just wheezing away...but then he'd wake up...
Gotta do a shop today, may not have time to squeeze in a horsey visit, especially when I need to hang out some washing and clean up a bit.
HAB is loosening up - fresh out of the wash and the fabric is nice and firm...but not for long.
Very sad about Belinda Emmett. DP was very insensitive when he told me (I hadn't logged onto a news site yet) and when I got sad he asked (rhetorically) if I knew her. I said that of course I didn't but that I still got sad hearing about other people's bad news. Poor Rove, they only recently got married and he'll be devastated. When young people die of cancer it's even worse.
Hi Guys here i am!
Sorry i have been a lurker lately but have not posted.
Mel- Hi, I am a old Junie. Well my son Nixon was due on the 1st but came 7weeks early & landed in the big wide world on April 17th (Easter Monday) he spent 4weeks in hospital but is a big boy now u wouldnt even know.
Nixon- Had his 6month needles today & is currently sleeping it off. we are meant to go to swimming but i dont really want to wake him.
He now has two teeth! Yes he cut his first one about 2weeks ago and the 2nd followed a few days after. they are still coming up but look so cute until he bites me when bf (OUCH) so all that grumpiness did have its reasoning & he is starting to get back to his happy self again
We are mightly close to turning the car seat around. a week ago he was 7.8kg so probably in another week or so (can u believe he will be 7months)
Still cannot manage sitting, he gets the grumps after 5min of tummy time so i think he is a while off crawling (i aint complaining!) he has forgotten how to roll though. he only ever did it a handfull of times maybe 6-7weeks ago but hasnt done it since.
Re: Meet up sorry i am going away on the 17th. heading to Syd for Nixon's godfathers engagement party then Sun 19th going to Brisbane. DH has to work up there for Elton John so we are going for a holiday. i will be in Caloundra from mon-wed and was gonna see if any of the QLD girls can make a meet up on the thursday??
Two teeth! Ay! They are all growing so quickly That WOULD explain a bit of grumpiness, wouldn't it? However, he was pretty happy most of the time during our meet up, I thought.
Rolling - Oscar half turns from belly to front but can't make it the whole way cos he can't figure out what to do about that arm that gets in the way!
Ok, what else can I eat around here while the boy's asleep?
oooohhh, ok, here it is...800!!
I'm toying with the idea of just turning Oscar around in his carseat now. He wouldn't be too far off 8kg, but he's twisting around to stare at the driver, which can't be too good for his alignment, so I have to find the instruction booklet to see how to turn it around properly. Too big, he is. My mum bought his a cute romper in 00, but she'll take it back and get a 0 so that he gets more wear out of it. His rompers fit a little tight around the crotch because of the cloth nappies, so 0 looks like the go. Before I know it I'll be looking for 2's! He's in a cute green romper now - it's a t-shirt one with a big clown fish on the front. I love him in green My little Kermie...
Hope Simone's enjoying the weekend weather - just what the doctor ordered, methinks
Yep... I'm washing all the sheets today because someone said there was going to be rain next week.
I'm also writing up a list of financial priorities because DH gets his bonus next payday ($17,000) Have to make sure it isn't frittered away. That could happen so easily coming up to the Christmas silly season. I'm going to give each expenditure a priority number from about 1- 20. Clearing the credit cards is number 1... paying Verity's schoold fees for next year is number 2 (term 2, term 1 is already paid for)... buying Verity's school uniforms and stationery is number 3... I'd say SeaWord holiday would be number 4... and to be honest there's no much $ left after that! So all the little things like a hand drill, room size rug for the dining room etc is going to have to be clearly thought about...
Ok... first load ready to hang... love it
Rory: remember to apply FlyLady's rule of having a 15 min break every hour... I've noticed you've been very "good" and not "getting distracted by the computer" (another of her rules)... but we miss you! LOL
Thanks for the text Bath i think i had just hit send on the pc when the message came through!
although Nixon's teeth have been through for a few weeks he is still getting really red hot cheeks. so maybe others are also moving around or could be from these two still?? they are sharp little buggers though.
he also recently learnt to grab his feet. Now he holds them all the time! But he aint quiet flexible enough to get them into his mouth.
I meant to date it THURSDAY 23rd November for a qld meet up if anyone is available Neeny/Amanda??? Dee/Jaspen i think u guys are way up North arnt you?.
DH will be off working so Nixon & I will be doing our own thing. Ive just msged a couple of the qld girls from April buddies that i speak to aswell.
OMG i just read about Belinda Emmett... i had a cry. She was such a wonderful person, i cant believe she's gone. Rove will be devastated, they were so great together...
Dh and i went into Southgate this morning, went to Ken Duncan's photography gallery, and Ken himself was there!! Dh got some books signed, and i bought him a new one. He also got a photo, and Ken told him he picked a great camera (Nikon D70s) so DH was chuffed.
Didnt end up going out last night, sent Dh out and had a little cry. DH came home with Red Rooster (strip subs are my fav, extra herb sauce yummo) and Armageddon (great snuggle up movie) HE ended up staying last night, as i just didnt feel i could cope on my own. I dont really want to post in here whats going on, i dont want the whole forum knowing, so if you want to chat, please email or pm me.
Anyway, im off to wash Anneliese's nappies, it being such a lovely day and all.
