Happy first birthday Cody!!
i hope you have a great time at the party amanda, look forward to seeing some pics too.
ive been and had my hair doen and bought a nice maternity top, going to a fundraising ball for premmie babies. Its run by an organisation called "Miracle babies" if u've ever heard of them. really looking forward to dressing up for once but suspect it will be a lovely but emotional night with my preggie hormones!
anyway better go start dolling myself up!
btw- Nixon hasnt taken any more steps since his first hehe! i'll still mark that date down in his book though.
Ali- hope your scan goes well next week, do u think u guys will find out the sex this time?
its funny in my play group 4 of us were pg with number 2. 2 mums have had their babies and had the same sex as they already had, now i know im having the same sex so will be interesting to see if the other mum has a girl like she already has.
Good work Amanda's DH for decorating the birthday cake! I bet he's the only dad to get involved in that department! Would love to see a piccy. Hope the party is lots of fun... don't forget your camera! Oh and it was the full moon last night I think... didn't sleep well myself... and kids been a little manic.
Amanda - I hope you've had a lovely day celebrating Cody's 1st birthday. A big pat on the back to DH for decorating the cake, I'd never let mine near one LOL!!!
IK - hope SIL friend is OK.
Bath - our houses would be so much cleaner without kids!!!! I have cleaned the kids play area so many times today I just gave up and left it until they went to bed. I thought men were supposed to be easy to buy for and quick shoppers lol!!! I hope the tablets do the trick for you.
Nic - how exciting getting glammed up for the night, I bet you'll look beautiful and have a wonderful night out.
Marley is starting to stand so much more on her own she just doesn't move anywhere! She can go really fast when going sideways around the furniture but not so good going straight ahead. Chelsea was excited to see Shrek on tonight (she has watched the dvd so many times I know just about every line in it!) but it started at 8.30pm! I thought they would have put it on at a more "kid friendly" time. We let her watch the first 15 mins and she was most annoyed having to go to bed without watching Shrek save Fiona! I told her she can watch her dvd tomorrow. She can't wait to see Shrek the Third (and secretly, neither can I!).
Mel - Sorry about your nan, i have been through the same thing with both my Grandfather and my Nan and its horrible. I hope you are ok. As for Marley, lachlan is doing the same thing, he will walk around the walls and stand up by himself but as soon as i hold my hands out for him to walk to me he gets down and crawls over. Good luck returning to work, when does that start?
Nic - Hope you had a great time at the Ball and yay for Nixon taking his first steps!!
IK - HOw did Oscar go at Grandaddy's?? I bet you missed him, and did you manage to express? How many times per day are you feeding him now?
I know what you mean about the different rates of development. A little boy at my playgroup was born one week after lachlan and is tiny, he only weighs about 7 kilos or something and he is running around like a big kid. He looks so small. Lachlan is still a fair way off walking (although i might be suprised) but he is picking up words really easily. But like i always say, how many kids do you see crawling into school??? They all catch up in their own time.
Well, not much happening with me, im trying to organise Lachlans 1st Birthday party, im going to attempt to make the train cake from the WW Birthday Cake Book. (i think i have picked the hardest one!!) But if i just buy the cakes and do the decorating how hard can it be right??
I have a back up plan, im going into town to buy a cake if the train doesnt work!!
Lachlan is still going well on the sleeping front, will sleep from about 7pm until 3.30 - 4am then until 7am so im really happy with that. He is trying to drop his morning sleep too which im not happy with because i like to sometimes hop back into bed and have a morning sleep too. He woke up yesterday morning at 6.30am and didnt have a sleep until 2.30pm! He wasnt totally horrid like i thought he would be either. i tried to put him back into bed in the morning but he just layed in there and played so i thought i would just get him up again.
he is picking up new words really well too, they are still hard to understand but he is trying really hard. He knows what things are when i say them like if i say "where is the clock?" he will look over and point to it and try to say "Tick Tock" and where are the cars? He will look out the front window and Say "Ca" "Brum" He is just growing up so fast!
Anyway back to work for me, I hope you are all going well!!
xoxoxox
Congratulations Nic on being BB MOTM - yaya another Junie mum!!!

I've just uploaded some videos taken about 6 weeks ago onto the above site if anyone wants a nosey. Just make sure you turn the sound off in the first vid as i hadn't worked out how to mute it and you get my stupid voice over through it! Musics good on the dancing boys one though so left that on.

Gotta be quick - working tomorrow and been at MIL's and FIL's all day for Flynn's "family" party (SIL was over from NZ so we had a celebration today)
Dee my advice on the train cake is don't spread jam over the cake before you ice it - my SIL and I made one for my nephew a few years ago and the jam is a bad move!
better go - see you luvvies (Mel hope your nan is faring well.)
Happy Belated Birthday to Cody! Cake looks completely devourable! If that wasn't a word before, it is now
SIL's GF has had labour stopped, thank goodness.
My other GF had her baby this morning and her name is Claire - such a pretty name. She avoided induction, because they wanted to do it on Friday or today (obviously, the hospital OB had far more important things to do on the weekend and she just refused to turn up to the FBC on Friday, so it's hard to induce someone who isn't there!) and the baby was born in the wee hours of this morning, so WOO HOO for avoiding that!
I've got study to do this afternoon, when I drop Oscar off at MIL.
Training yesterday was ok - nothing spectacular. My hair didn't smell of smoke when I got home, so, yes, underwhelming. But still got to play with trucks and hose and gas on fire.
Julie - I haven't seen the vids yet, but I WILL get round to it!
Donna - how cute it must be to hear our little ones talking! Oscar was great for my dad - for a depressed person, he was already up, had the house warm and kept Oscar occupied all day. I was very impressed with him (my dad, that is!). He really liked having him, despite the mock annoyance at Oscar getting into everything. I expressed twice on Saturday and three times yesterday - yesterday yielded more than half a litre and DP joked that his grandfather would be proud (Poppa was a dairy farmer till DP was about 3 years old) of such a result! Depending on the day, he might feed about 5 times during the day and a few night feeds (including evening - might be twice overnight, 3 or more if he's not 100%). Sometimes I might only feed him 3 times between waking and 5-6pm! I end up lumpy and full and need to offload on those days. So, he doesn't need to drink a lot of water and only has the water that DP insists on giving him ("he'll drink it", "well, yes, he will, but he doens't NEED it"...oh, well, it's not harming him!). I would have thought that a kid like him would wean himself soon because he is so into everything around him and wouldn't want to stop to feed! I'm glad he still likes it and dives down my top to find my boobies, though. And, thank goodness, he can drink my EBM out of a sippy cup, and sometimes out of bottles, now that I"m using a different teat - he just couldn't deal with the NUK one at all. He was good, as usual, for MIL (a bit whingey, cos he's adjusting to the whole being left behind regularly thing - was ok as a once off here and there), but he was really great on Saturday for my dad. All 3 of us are going to miss out when my parents sell the house here and are only living in the country!
That reminds me...on the QT, but DP is now looking at properties in Sth and West Gippy. Not for now, but as a real option for later. That way, we are still able to travel to Melbourne (train from Morwell!), we are near two big regional centres, and the drive to my parents won't be as long. We'll see. We have to sit down and nut out a plan of attack.
Oscar is ckinging to me, bbl
Good morning Chilly now hey? Turned on the central heating on the 1st of June... would like to use the fireplace a bit more but because we don't know when the chimney was swept last we feel like using it again too much this winter would be pushing our luck (even though we have a lot of wood)... I don't think the landlord would be keen on us using it or would want to pay to have it swept... still waiting to hear about the back fence... i'll believe it when i see it although they have been good with all the other little things that needed doing around here... this one might just be too expensive for them who knows... they be able to list it as a tax deduction though... good time of the year to do it for that reason.
Congratulations Nic on being MOTM!!!!! love to see us Junies being well represented
awesome cake Amanda! yummo
Thanks guys i only seen the MOTM thing now when i logged on and had a PM from an april buddie. It is great that the Junie's are getting recognised, we've had some ups and downs but been a pretty tight nit group for a long time now.
i just uploaded the ultrasound picks on powpow website, still need to take another belly shot i am half way whoo hoo!
The ball was a great night. Once part was very emotional and even DH was crying. It just brought everything back for him i think where as i was still upset but have had lots of support since Nixon's birth. They raised a stack of money which goes towards equiptment for NICU at Liverpool Hosp. should this baby come early thats where he'll be so i know he will be in the best place for him. I actually seen my OB at the ball too!
Jules- will go check out your video now IK- congrats to your friend and her little girl! Donna- how cute Lachlan associating the clock with tick tock etc thats adorable!
Amanda: Just checked out Cody's cake!!! Oooh very cute ladybugs! Did you make them or buy them? Coles has a new range of cake decorations from the Greens brand of which I bought and used some flowers recently (am going to add piccy soon)... very convenient and yummy. Anyhow well done Amanda! very inspirational... got to buy me a piping bag with those patterned flute things... that looked like so much fun! I haven't worked out a theme for Niall's cake yet... we call him "Munch" because he bites me when BFing... maybe i should make him a big NIPPLE cake for him to bite into!!!
ETA: uploaded cake with Greens flowers onto my PhotoBucket site. Password is Dosh.

Amanda - cake is awesome, you did such a good job!
Dee - I go back to work, 2 days a week on 3 July, not long now! Lachlan sounds like he's got the sleeping thing down pat now. You must be relieved. LOL about his talking, thats great. Marley just babbles, I have no idea what she is saying.
Julie - the boys are so gorgeous! I love you accent too! Nice to put a voice to the posts lOL!!! Train cake looked great too.
IK - congrats to your GF,Claire is such a pretty name. Your dad sounds like a good babysitter, mine would be hopeless with Marley but good with Chelsea. Don't move, I like having a junie living close by LOL!!!
Bath - it was icy this morning! I have a heater hog and leave it on low overnight now, too darn cold! Love an open fire, they make the house so cosy and the sound of it roaring and the wood crackling. LOL about the nipple cake!
Nic - congrats on the MOTM! Fantastic, the Junies are doing so well! Can't believe you are halfway already. Glad you had a good time at the ball and even better they raised lots of money.
On a sad note, my nan finally passed away yesterday at about 7pm. My dad took it pretty hard, but we have all been prepared for it to happen (as much as you can be). The funeral directors visited him today and everthing is organised. The funeral is Friday and I have to take both kids as all my babysitters will be at the funeral. Hopefully they will be nice and quiet. A good chance to celebrate her long and happy life!
Oh Mel *hugs* That's sad to hear your Nana has passed away... I would offer to take care of your girls however maybe, especially for Chelsea, going to the funeral will be a good way to say "good bye"? I hope I don't upset anyone... but we have taken Verity to family funerals and it's always worked out well for her in the end... a few people suggested we shouldn't take her to the funeral of her 2 yo cousin who was run over... but (Verity was about 8 at the time) she dealt with it really well and the ceremony was a lovely bonding experience for all the extended family and I'm glad she was a part of that. I think it's healthy for children to see adults mourn... it helps them make sense of all the confusiing issues and why Mum and Dad seem a bit fragile... once again, these are just my thoughts on the matter... I do respect the thoughts others might have on such a sensitive issue as well.
I hope the ceremony is a wonderful celebration of your Nan's life anyhow Mel
...gotta settle Niall down for his afternoon nap now...
Mel, my sympathies - my grandmother was 84 when she died and although that was a good innings she was my dad's mum and losing her was like losing another part of my dad (he died when I was nine). I know no matter how "old" someone is, if you love them it is never enough time. Hugs to you.....
Oh, Mel, I'm so sorry :hugs: It's sad when you lose 'oldies', because they have the stories of your family and they represent your idea of your own family. It's definitely a watershed time for you and your dad. It's great that she got to meet Marley and Chelsea. Oscar totally missed out on his gramps, but his cousins can fill him in where we don't. I'm still sad about that, though. It sounds like she was very loved, and that's the best we can hope for when our number comes up.
Sorry to not come back like I said I would! MIL had Oscar and I had to make the most of that time. I DID actually study for some of it. The loungeroom was dirty (sans vacuum cleaner), so I tried in the bedroom but I fell asleep (perfect! that's what I want to achieve in that room!) and the study was too cold (arse end of the house), so I bothered to manually clean the rug with a rubber broom. It was hard yakka (that's why I vacuum it, what with dog hairs and dirt from DP's boots...), but I ended up reading on the couch, where I was till just before. DP's getting ready for bed, and I don't fancy being the only one up on a cold night, even though the heater's on.
I got all my money back for the webcam that didn't work on my Mac (after the advert said it would), so that's good, but it will pay for the interest on my credit card because I forgot it was meant to be paid by today, so that's bad. Just forgot to write the cheque, my bad.
Subscribed my GF to the ABA as her new baby gift (yeah right, there's more gifting where that came from! First brigade girl in 5 years, the 4 since have been boys), so she might even come to my Booby Club meetings.
Nic - good one on MOTM - you're definitely right about us Junies, are we stayers or what??
Bath - don't go giving me cheeky ideas...I'm really loving the idea of making two berry puddings, covering them in chocolate and sticking cherries on top, to symbolise his favourite things! (BTW, I am LOVING when he plunges his hands down my top - I don't mind being claimed one bit!).
I was going to go fancy cake, but have decided to do a nice tasty cake instead, leaving the character ones for next year, when he will appreciate it.
I better get a move on with invites or no-one will be able to make it due to prior committments!
OK, best get ready for bed...
