Happy Belated Birthday to Cody! Cake looks completely devourable! If that wasn't a word before, it is now
SIL's GF has had labour stopped, thank goodness.
My other GF had her baby this morning and her name is Claire - such a pretty name. She avoided induction, because they wanted to do it on Friday or today (obviously, the hospital OB had far more important things to do on the weekend and she just refused to turn up to the FBC on Friday, so it's hard to induce someone who isn't there!) and the baby was born in the wee hours of this morning, so WOO HOO for avoiding that!
I've got study to do this afternoon, when I drop Oscar off at MIL.
Training yesterday was ok - nothing spectacular. My hair didn't smell of smoke when I got home, so, yes, underwhelming. But still got to play with trucks and hose and gas on fire.
Julie - I haven't seen the vids yet, but I WILL get round to it!
Donna - how cute it must be to hear our little ones talking! Oscar was great for my dad - for a depressed person, he was already up, had the house warm and kept Oscar occupied all day. I was very impressed with him (my dad, that is!). He really liked having him, despite the mock annoyance at Oscar getting into everything. I expressed twice on Saturday and three times yesterday - yesterday yielded more than half a litre and DP joked that his grandfather would be proud (Poppa was a dairy farmer till DP was about 3 years old) of such a result! Depending on the day, he might feed about 5 times during the day and a few night feeds (including evening - might be twice overnight, 3 or more if he's not 100%). Sometimes I might only feed him 3 times between waking and 5-6pm! I end up lumpy and full and need to offload on those days. So, he doesn't need to drink a lot of water and only has the water that DP insists on giving him ("he'll drink it", "well, yes, he will, but he doens't NEED it"...oh, well, it's not harming him!). I would have thought that a kid like him would wean himself soon because he is so into everything around him and wouldn't want to stop to feed! I'm glad he still likes it and dives down my top to find my boobies, though. And, thank goodness, he can drink my EBM out of a sippy cup, and sometimes out of bottles, now that I"m using a different teat - he just couldn't deal with the NUK one at all. He was good, as usual, for MIL (a bit whingey, cos he's adjusting to the whole being left behind regularly thing - was ok as a once off here and there), but he was really great on Saturday for my dad. All 3 of us are going to miss out when my parents sell the house here and are only living in the country!
That reminds me...on the QT, but DP is now looking at properties in Sth and West Gippy. Not for now, but as a real option for later. That way, we are still able to travel to Melbourne (train from Morwell!), we are near two big regional centres, and the drive to my parents won't be as long. We'll see. We have to sit down and nut out a plan of attack.
Oscar is ckinging to me, bbl
