Maya - you can't go past good linen. Target had 1000 thread count sheets on sale recently for $99 which is a bargain, they feel so luxurious! Our new mattress is latex/wool and its a King Koil which I found out are totally owned and made in Australia (such a rarity these days!). Sounds like your party yesterday went well, you'll get the hang of it in no time. Great you are having lots of cuddle time with your niece, little ones are so edible!! You can add DH and I to the growing list of lasting marriages (and Rory too), 12 years on 14 October.

Tali - showbags are so expensive now and most are filled with crap! I usually like the magazine ones, at least you get something decent in them. Most of the kids ones have junky stuff and a few lollies. To find the pics, just click on my username next to the avatar, then choose my homepage, it should come up then. Have fun tidying up tomorrow!

Jess - wow, $410+ is an expensive day out! Glad DH is enjoying his job.

Ali - how nice for you all to be pregnant together! Maybe the other 2 might have girls?

Had my GF over for lunch today with her 3 kids and they were all really well behaved (apart from Chelsea pulling most of her clothes out of the wardrobe!). Marley loved playing with Lachlan who is only 4 mths older than her. He had one of his sisters dolls and Marley wanted it, so she followed him around screaming at him, finally he stopped she got up close, screamed louder until it freaked him out so much he dropped it and walked off crying!!!! She is such a bossy thing. My GF is due with bub #4 in a 4 weeks and the baby is still breech. She is starting to worry that she will end up with a c/section but hopefully bub will turn in time. Be very hard looking after 3 kids and a newborn after a c/s. My brother came for dinner tonight and I made sticky chilli chicken, it was delicious. He is so excited as he is going to the Grand Final tomorrow and is a mad Geelong supporter. I really hope they win, otherwise he will be miserable. My brother has gone home, DH is at work so I have a very quiet household. Time for coffee and another piece of Mars Bar slice - mmmmmmm.

I last went to the show a couple of years ago....I think it was 6 yrs actually!
We used to go quite regulary but in the past couple of years we just couldn't find the money to go. As Mel said $300 is quite easy to spend. $75 for a family , but because I have 6 kids I would have to get either Mum or my Aunts to come as well so that would be $150 plus train tickets to come down to Melb. $112, then come the dreaded showbags...$48 for a showbag each, food $100....that's $410 so far!!!!!!!!
Hopefully next year we might be in a better situation about going, so lets see!
DH's job is going well...he gets $18 an hour (weekdays) and $23 an hour (weekends), so thats a bit of extra money that we could do with. He is on a 3 month trial to see if his back holds out, but even though he is sore of a night, he loves it.
My Launch Party for PASH is on the 12th of October and atm I might have my neighbours coming...sad I know but I can only hope more people come.
Better go and see to these kids.

I am extremley excited this evening, I found out today that my GF is preg ( i dont know if you remember me talking about a friend m/c twins a little while ago) well she is 13 weeks pg. That makes both of my oldest and closest friends pg, due 2 days apart. It is realy cool as we all grew up together nd went to high school together, so it is nice to have the next generation of kids all coming at the same time.
That now makes me, my SIL and my 2 friends all due within 3 months of each other. My SIL and I are both having boys, so it will be interesting to see what the other 2 have.

Having a really quite weekend here. Watched the Cats win yesterday which as I am a melbourne girl had to go for the vic team but my whole family goes for the bomers I think mum would disown me if I said anything else.

The kids have been really well behaved yesterday so lets just hope it continues.

Dh call last night and is getting really s**ty with his job as there are ment to be 3 fitters working the trucks which isnt enough and they want the boss to hire one more but money is more important so they wont anyway they are now down a guy as he has hurt his back and wont be back for atleast 6weeks. so its just the two of them trying to fix whatever brakes ( which is alot ) for 12.5 hrs a night so he is feeling really shaged..
I'm hoping that if they keep this up that he might start to look around for mining job that flys out of melbourne sooner maybe one that has more boys on site..

haven't done much so not much else to say have a great sunday.

Tali - I'm a bit like you, having a very quiet weekend. My brother is a mad, passionate Geelong supporter who was at the game yesterday and I was so happy they won. I was barracking hard in the loungeroom yesterday, Chelsea and Marley got in the act too! Made some choc chip biscuits and hedgehog this weekend and with DH not here, they might last more than 1 day. Hope the kids continue their good behaviour, its so nice when they are like that. That would be good if DH got a new job and you could come to Melb sooner.

Rory - hope you've had fun at hypnobirthing classes, make sure you tell us all about it.

Did everyone watch the grand final? I don't normally like teams to win by too much but it was so fantastic that Geelong won and I'm really glad they did it by so much. My brother was on cloud 9, he rang after the game cheering and yelling! He was going to head down to Geelong today for the family day, would have been really chilly down there.

Hope everyone else is having a nice relaxing Sunday

Hiya girls - I have been busy all this past weekend at my hypnobirthing classes with Esther. DH and I had a lovely time (as did Flynnie, who spent the weekend with his doting grandparents!) and I am really looking forward to the birth. I dealt with a lot of stuff I didn't know was there and am so much more positive about life. I will try to do a proper post in my pg journal later today because it is such an important part of my pg that I think Little One should know about how I feel.

Only bummer about Flynn spending time with my mum over the weekend was she let him completely wreck his new pair of Tip Toey Joeys!!! I am so mad - they let him wear them while he was scurrying around on the concrete steps and now there is a hole in the toe!! At $40 a pair I kinda hoped he would wear them for WALKING not crawling. Mum said she would buy him a new pair and I think I am going to push for that. Grrr - he has only worn them 4 or 5 times......

Just quickly reading, but couldn't help replying!
Rory - the woman has a knack, doesn't she? She did the same with us, well, me - stuff I didn't realise was impeding the full enjoyment of what was to come, and it came out and that's when I truly felt 'zen'! I am SOOOOOOOOOO glad you had an ace time with Esther, it's making me teary Good one :applause:
Bugger about those shoes, grrrr! I got some shoes in a bigger size for Oscar the other week - some soft sole toggle style shoes and a pair of bowler shoes...can't wait for them to fit...
gotta shower with the kid now and start our day - might post later for a vent, or the Boo Hoo room...depends on how public I feel like being!

Good afternoon girls FIL leaving tomorrow... he is outside playing with Wade ATM, he's been great

Oh no Rory!!! I meant to warn you about letting them crawl outside with the Tip Toey's or any good pair of shoes for that matter! I only let Niall wear old hand me down outside here for that reason. When they start walking they are a bit easier on shoes... but not much! I agree, let them buy him a new pair Also cheapie canvas shoes can be good for outside and they wash up well.

Awww Maya I hope things are ok now... I'll check out the BooHoo room...

Mel: yep, watched about half of both grandfinals... pretty pleased that Melbourne Storm won the NRL too although my Dad will be bitter as he is a Manley fan.

Wade threatening to wake a sleeping Niall...

Hi all, had a quiet day today as I am not feeling the best. I think i have been overdoing it the past few weeks and my body is finally starting to protest. Luckily I am on holidays and have the opportunity to rest.
We have had no hot water since Sat night as our Solahart sprang a leak during the night, got into the roof, leaked through a light socket and all over my dining room table. Luckily I hadnt left my laptop on charge on the table like I usually do as it would almost definatley have gotten water all over it. Because it is a long weekend, cant get anyone out till tomorow to fix it as I am sure the whole tank needs replacing. Sigh no hot shower for me today!

I cant believe my av is still not up I hope it wont be long now!

Oh Ali that sucks about the Solarhart - is there much damage to the plaster?

Good news on the shoes - mum is buying him another pair! She said, don't worry, I'll keep buying him shoes when he needs them - yay!!

Better go - gotta get to bed early tonight to practice my relaxation techniques

    HI Ladies

Ali - bugger about the hot water system - hope it's fixed today so you can have a shower!

Rory - good on mum buying Flynn the new shoes. Glad your hypnobirthing classes went so well - sounds really good.

Bath - sounds like it's been nice to have FIL over but i bet it will be nice to have your place back to your self.

Mel - didn't watch any finals - still don't have a clue what goes off in AFL - need to find an idiots guide to it as it's the main game here in Perth. Used to keep up with the Rugby when we were in Townsville as we used to enjoy watching the cowboys but haven't really watched anything since. Glad you like the 1000 thread count target sheets - we got some last year in a sale there and they are so comfy.

Jess - ouch on the price of going to the show! It's Perth show this w/e as we had a long w/e but have skipped it this year - maybe next.

Had quite a nice weekend and bank holiday although Will has been quite mis with his molar's - he slept most of yesterday and had a temp up to 39.1 at one point. We then had an interesting evening spent at Princess Margaret Children's hospital with Oscar as he slipped in the shower and fell backwards smacking his head into the tiled little wall thingy. James was in the bathroom with him when it happened but didn't see it as he had his back turned putting toothpaste on brushes. I heard osc screaming and james brought him out and said we would have to go to hossy and no i couldn't look (he know's how squemish i am and i would be useless if i saw) so we quickly packed them both up in the car and off we drove. they were very good in there and we didn't have to wait very long at all. The doctor ended up glueing it and poor mite was soooooo brave - he didn't even cry (which i think they were abit amazed at) and hasn't said it is sore today even though it still looks a mess. went to walking group this morning and they didn't mind going to a different playground which didn't have sand in it so we could keep Osc's head clean so it was a nice change.

House looks like a bomb site and i really ought to get of the pute and tidy but just can't be ar$ed right now!

    Hope all well with everyone

Julie - poor Oscar! What a brave little man. We have put those non slip sticker things on the floor of the shower as we've had a few near misses with Chelsea (and me a few times!), the shower is a dangerous place for little legs. Glad he is coping well with it. Prob helps that he can't see the wound too. How do you get a look at Will's molars? I have been trying to check Marleys for ages but can't get my fingers in there to look (without the risk of getting them chomped on!) and even when I lay her down and get her to laugh, I still can't see. Funny, I find Rugby very hard to understand, but AFL is pretty straight forward. I usually only watch grand final and some Friday night games if I have nothing better to do.

Ali - have you got hot water yet????? Cold showers are not fun.

Rory - just read your journal about hypnobirthing class. Sounds like it was just what you needed. I'm really pleased for you as I know you were a bit hesitant about it in the beginning. Are you nice and chilled out today? Good call getting your mum to get Flynn new shoes, thats such a shame the others are ruined. You'll know for next time. We have outside shoes and good shoes (DH always gets them mixed up lol!). Thankfully he's not a girl otherwise your mum could be buying him a new pair every week LOL!!!

Maya - congrats on winning the September photo comp! It was such a gorgeous photo. Do you win a prize? I was up your way yesterday in Kallista, was going to call you but I left there too late and needed to get home. Next time I go up, I will call.

Bath - is it all quiet without FIL today? The weekends footy wasn't that exciting due to them both winning by so much but I noticed that the NRL prematch entertainment was heaps better than the AFL.

My little munchkin has just started to give kisses!!! It melts my heart when she does it and it has taken me ages to get her to do it. And she almost goes crosseyed trying to look into my eyes, very funny! We went to a GF's for lunch yesterday and she has 2 gorgeous golden retriever dogs. Marley loved them and was very gentle patting them. I can't wait to get another dog, hopefully before Christmas. Chelsea loved playing in the sand pit, now DH and I are debating over building one in our backyard. Will my house be covered in sand???

At work today. Had a yummy lunch outside and its so beautiful. Sun shining, breeze blowing. Wish I had of hung my washing out before I left.

Hope everyone is having a great day

Hiya Mel yes my flannel nappies are flapping in the wind! Just about to bring them in actually. FIL left this morning. He had a lovely stay with lots of good chats. Poor fellow worries a lot about us all... and all he wants to do is talk to me about dying and seeing "his girl" again (his wife) who passed away a few years ago. I think he likes to talk about this with me because he says he finds it hard to with most people... i was quite flattered by that. He told me all his funeral plans etc It's all arranged and paid for. He has a weak heart... just quietly i don't think he has much time left on this earth DH feels this way too. I guess at least he says he feels ready to go.... that's all anyone could wish for I suppose.

    cuppa time...

Mel you asked if you will get sand all over the house. YES YES YES you will and in your bed and anywhere they can put it. my kids had a sand pit in the last house we had ( in Darwin ) and we found that when is rained it turned to slop, and then if you dont cover it you have all the neighbourhood cats using it as a toilet. But that said they did love it.

julie - how oscar's head that glue is great! it amazise me how the dont even seem to have a sore head the next day, I know I would.

Bath - how wonderful that you FIL feel like he can talk to you I think when I get to that stage in life I would love to know that there would be someone willing to listen to what I want and need to say even it is about moving on, as alot of people just tell them to stop talking like that.

dont you just love baby kiss's wish you could keep them forever, Kai has been giving kiss for a while now and when she does I always say "love you" so now when she gives me a kiss she will say something ( baby talk ) so I like to believe it "love you", today I went around to a friends house and the whole time I was there kai was eaither crying or giving me kiss's to stop me talking. like I have said before she is a very jelious( sorry cant spell to save my self ) little girl. I think she too maybe getting teeth not that I can get a look in as I am also too scared to get my fingers too close.

Well DH is home tommorrow and as we are still on school holidays DS has got lots of thing he want to do with him. he really does miss his dad alot.

one for DH's work mate is going to give him a number for a job that fly in and out of melb when he gets back to work so fingers crossed.
