Good morning girls Happy birthday Cody! Great to hear your scan went well Amanda and that you have a healthy little bubba growing in there! I once lived in a pub owned by a (Catholic) husband and wife who had 9 children... 8 boys and a girl. The girl was the 5th. It makes you wonder what really determines these things hey? I guess it's a combination of things. The boys were all so different though... most of them lived and worked at the pub. They were as well behaved as you could expect! It was really fascinating to see so many different facets of "maleness" in the family. You could see similarities but it was like looking at a cut gem: so many different facets reflecting a rainbow of colours united by the gem. It was quite inspiring. Made me wonder what it would be like to have so many children all highlighting a different aspect of you and your DH. I think this is emphasised when you have so many of a particular gender. I hope your pregnancy continues to progress well and that you are feeling well Oh and my DH was the 4th son in a family of five children... his younger sister was a girl.... but strangely his mum always said "I love my daughter... but give me boys to raise anyday!" I tend to agree at this point in time too! Oh and like Mel said: Think of the money you will save!!! Oh how true! Girls are much more demanding on the financial resources I have to say!

Goodness me! Niall is into absolutely everything ATM!!!

Congratulations Amanda, another boy You know, I was thinking just the other day about how I would feel about my third (not pg yet, girls, don't worry!) being a boy and I think part of me would actually prefer a boy to a girl, even though a girl would be nice. I mean, you know what the "tone" of your family is going to be then, don't you? All boys means bikes and dirt and wrestling, whereas if you throw I girl into the mix, you potentially have some moodly little b!itch teenage girl to deal with in a few years And I couldn't imagine not wanting another Flynnie or Ollie

Are you a little disappointed? I think part of me would be, even though what I posted above is so true for me at the moment. Please don't feel offended by my question, but if you are it is ok to say, though, because you know we will understand and not judge you for it

Amanda - glad everything is on track for you; how exciting to have another boy! Actually, I think it would be equally exciting to have a girl. You would think I wouldn't have been hassled about this yet, but I have - I've had people ask me what I'd prefer to have next (can you believe it? I'd like a kid, I'd freak out if a puppy came out!). And I really couldn't care less either way - boys are a bit of a 'known' for me, as most of our friends have boys, and girls would be an exciting 'less-known', IFYWIM, so I'd be equally as happy to have either one slither out of me, as long as I have a great birth! Bath, one of the reasons I want to have more than 3 kids is to have that kaleidoscope of personalities and to see which bits of us they will all have! At this stage, it's a real stretch to be talking beyond Oscar, cos the second is not on the horizon yet!
Anyway, Oscar has well and truly ditched his day sleep - he had his last day sleep at Metung, and before that it was at childcare three weeks ago. DP thinks he's weaning, too, because he's attachment quality has really slipped and he's hurting my nipples. I think he's wrong because if I take Oscar off Babu, he gets really upset and calls out for it...not exactly a sign of weaning, I dont' think! For some reason, I think his jaw is tensing up and it's drawing his tongue back a bit. Anyway, I didn't see an LC about it last time it happened (about a month ago), but if tonight is another horror night, then I'll be making an appointment for asap. It's upsetting us both, and DP upsets me further by saying 'he's trying to wean' or 'maybe you could wean him'... he knows neither Oscar or I want that, so can he please be a bit more constructive? Even just stroke my arm when I'm upset about it, instead of telling me I'm being moody???
MIL is back and Oscar is chuffed about that. My parents are coming down this weekend, in time to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday.
    Better get back to study...

    Well I am BACK !!!!!

1st things 1st Happy birthday Cody and all the other birthdays I might have miss while I have been away...

Amanda- on the baby boy!!!! I would love to have another boy so maybe next year you will have to ship me over some of that water

Well as there is just too much to catch up on and most of the personals would be way to old now anyway I wont bother and just start from today....

The trip down was good we camped until the kempsy (sp?) but used motels and BHL's aunts house after that as it was just too cold to be in the camper at night... We took the kids to Aust Zoo which they liked but I dont think it was worth the money you have to spend to not only get in there but also the food and merchendice (sp?) we spent about $ 400 on the day, We also took the kids to sydney on a train which the big ones loved Kai not so much, but we had a great day anyway..
Poor May didnt know what a heater was as when we got to BHL's aunts she asked what it was, poor girl we all couldnt help ourselves and just laughed thats what you get for living to the tropics...

It only took us 2 weeks to get a house once we got here but we didnt know that we had to connect the power ( as in the defence the power is always on you just ring them up and they will start to bill you from that meter reading) anyway once we called them we were told it would take 3 days but as it was a wednesday it would be on until monday and then it still wasnt on as the forgot about us so we didnt have power until tuesday almost a week after we " moved in " thank goodness for mum and dad!!!!
so we have been here a week and only just got the internet connected as once again the wireless didnt come until friday and you cant connect until 24 hrs latter which made it today....

Zayden started school today seemed to have a good day has a male teacher ( his 1st ) he seems really nice and Zay told me does a really funny dance.. He has been put into yr 2 and not 3 which is what I wanted and queensland is different so he should be right on track now but it is a 1/2 class which I hope will mean he might get to catch up with spelling a writing as he is way behind in this area...

May has gotten in to a kindy and starts on wed so I will let you all how that goes after that, now all I have to do is try and be a big girl and find a playgroup and try to make some friends of my own...

    well I better go

Welcome back Tali! Good to hear things are starting to fall into place. Are you loving the cold weather??? I'm just about to flick on the central heating... if it was just DH and I we wouldn't bother but the kids are looking a bit cold and it's nicer to have a warm house for bathtime. We turn it off after dinner though and keep it off over night...can't afford another $400 heating bill... and that was for last year... utilities have gone up so much this year I'd hate to think what it would cost us to keep the heating on all night this year. DH flicks it on when he gets up at 6am though... stays on until about 7.30am.

Anyhow good to hear from you and to know that you made it down safely

Maya: just keep on doing what you've been doing re BFing Oscar You'll know when it's time... won't need any help... when you hear a negative comment visualise water off a duck's back... you know the drill

Tali - so glad to hear you are now officially a Melbournian! Sounds like your trip down was pretty good. I loved Aus Zoo, but I agree, its a bit pricey. What suburb did you decide on? You poor guys must be freezing, it has been so bitterly cold at night the last few weeks. You will be using that heater a fair bit the next few months. Great news with Zayden's school. Maybe the male teacher will be a good confidence booster for him. I'm sure May will love her new kinder. You'll find new friends (plus you have us!), you are such a lovely person, with great kids - what's there not to like. Let us know when you get settled and we can hopefully organise a get together.

Maya - hopefully DP will come to understand how important it is to you. I don't know whether it will truely sink in? Chin up though. How is exam preparation going? Sending lots of good, positive vibes your way.

Rory - we get dirt and wrestling here and it mainly comes from Marley LOL!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CODY!! Hope you have a wonderful day.

Like Bath, I have my central heating cranked up. It was such a lovely day but soon as the sun has gone, its gets so cold. I have chicken kiev cooking in the oven and it smells delicious, better go and check that its not burning!!!

Rory sorry to hear the Flynn is so sick on his big day, I hope he gets better soon.

Well after all this talk of nits and Kailen came to me yesterday saying his head was itchy and wouldn't you know it, he's got them. So we did his hair and only found two biggies and one medium so hopefully that's all. Washed all the boys hair just incase and found nothing and washed all bedding and even Cody's car seat cover.

    Is it anyone's birthday today?

    hugs xoxo

I'm still here, still plodding along. My BP is behaving itself this time around and I've started taking RLT this time to hopefully tone my uterus a bit as it always needs the midwife to push on it to help stem the bleeding. Also very tired and boys started school holidays this week so even more tired as I can't have as much rest. But on the upside my mum has come down for a week to help with the boys, so they are enjoying having her here.

Mel wow Chelsea is getting big, it's always a sign when they start to lose their teeth.

Nic I hope that Nixon's hearing test goes well tomorrow and yay on the arrival of your friends baby boy.

    hugs xoxo
