Hi Everyone,

what a weekend eh!!

Mine started on Fri taking Dusty to the Dr's as he has his first cold & I'm a bit paranoid about these things. The DR said his chest was clear & his snot etc... isn't green so it should go soon. His temp went upto 37.2 degress on Friday night so I was freaking thinking he had a temperature but I have since found out that it needs to be above 37.5 to be considered high. So I stressed for nothing He seems to be getting better but being his first cold it was a little scary!!
We did have some success in the sleep department lastnight he slept from 12 am to 8.30 am with only 1 feed at 4 am which is a record for my little wonder who like to feed every couple of hours!!

Ewol: my dad was a truck driver & I would always worry about him so it's good to hear your hubby is o.k. I remember when I was first bf & it was taking about an hour to feed him so I figure, even though it does feel like I have my BB hanging out all day , if he does want to feed every 2 hours & it only takes about 10 - 20 mins then I can handle that - most of the time anyway. Glad to hear it has paid off. Has it settled down or are you still feeding her regularly??

Reenie: well the last 4 months has flown by so the next 2 months will as well. It sucks that the courts don't recognise that your 'job' as a mum is as important as any other job & especially with a little one with astma that you need a car, is there anyone else around you can call if you need to ?? What will you be studying??

LauraB: glad to hear that things are settling with feeding sam, apparently they do go through a growth spurt about now. Enjoy your massage too, sounds heavenly.

Andie: it sounds like Cam's fussiness with BF could be age related - something to do with being distracted by everything that is going on around them I know I have to feed Dusty in the room at night as he will wake up if he hears his daddy's voice & instead of going back to sleep straight away he wants to play , very frustrating when this happens at 10.30 - 12 when I all want is some peace & quite from the little darling. And like you said if he is putting on weight that is a good thing!!

Luey: good to hear the topup feeds seem to be working, does it seem to affect his reflux?? I hear you about the nights

Rustygirl: about the self settling. I tried to get Dusty to do this when we got home from the hospital but wasn't very successful, maybe he was too young - I don't know, & after a month I now rock/pat/sing him to sleep so. As much as enjoy this most of the time I would love to be able to put him in the cradle & for him to go to sleep without me esecially as he is getting too big for the cradle & I am going to have to put him in his cot in his own room. So I was wondering how old was Cohen when you started this & if you had any tips etc??

eliycsha & all-boys: very jealous but if last night is anything to go by I might be able to join your ranks soon of being able to gloat about a baby who 'sleeps' through

Hi Mel & anyone else I have missed ......

o.k time to go to bed, see you all next time
